The 5th round I don't think anyone particularly won, but I know how the UFC scores it, so I know they would give it to Jones. But my point is, nothing happened in the 5th. The only notable I can remember from that round is Cormier bodyslamming Jones, and the altercation at the end.

Yeah, I think in peoples' minds the idea that Jones dominated Cormier quickly replaced the reality that it was a pretty close fight. Jones' head probably absorbed more punishment than even the Gusty fight even tho his face didn't get lacerated. Well... uppercuts are rarely going to cut your face, anyway.

Fedor and Silva, before they got old, never took that kind of punishment, and Jones took it in his -prime-. Only GSP took it in his final fight. Jones is clearly the GOAT LHW, but I think he needs to do a better job separating himself from Gusty, DC (and possibly Rumble) before I can consider him for P4P GOAT.

DC's own corner knew he needed to do a lot more than exchange strikes. Those two takedowns were evidence of Jones' control.
