Yeah sometimes this year Wade just has seemed uninterested on D. I mean he's shown flashes (no pun intended) of brilliance on defense that he's known for. Then other times, he just looks like a total klutz out there. But guarding Ray Allen is no easy task. He works so hard on offense to get open and is smart so it really takes a lot of effort. Especially for a guy like Wade who is expected to score a lot as well

Hell, Phil Jackson switched Kobe off of Ray Allen last year in the Finals, because he was getting picked off like crazy, and Ray was getting too much space(He had the game where he made like 8 threes). When they put Fisher on him, that changed the series. And Ray Allen was out of rhythm the rest of the way becasue Fisher was attached to Ray's hip and was busting through those screens. Ray Allen is probably the most difficult person to guard. He always runs around screens and is a deadeye shooter. Nobody would like to guard him because you have to chase him around. Wade always get torch by Ray Allen, whatever he is lazy or not.

When the Heat were bad, Wade constantly jogged back on defense and gave bewildered looks at his teammates when they made mistakes. Actually, he would argue with refs sometimes and not even get back at all. I always thought Wade was a horrible leader. Shaq was the leader when they won the title, Wade was just the closer.

Kobe isn't Allen. Kobe is exactly the type of guard that Wade excels at defending.

Ray Allen is a serious problem for the Heat. He's going to get open shots, and Miami's best chance of winning is if he goes cold.

But if I'm Ray Allen, or Doc Rivers, I'm probably not real pleased with Perkins right now. Wade is a pretty competitive guy, and he just got publicly called out for being lazy. Wade has the speed and strength to guard Allen off screens if he works hard at it... and Perkins just gave him a reason to.
