Has anyone actually tried the adizeros? I liking this low version.

Most reviews say it's uncomfortable but its worth it because of the feel and how light the shoe really is.

I think they were referring to the 1.0. The original Rose was very minimal in cushioning, which is actually better mobility-wise, as there's no hindrance in your foot drive and all that. The 1.5 has been described (by a lot of my adi bros in SC who are making me hella jealous :oldlol: ) that it's like a luxury version of the 1.0. Very slightly higher off the ground as there's more plush, but doesn't sacrifice performance at all.

If you're diligent, you could backread. :lol But I ain't a douche, so here's a very fact-based review.

This ain't your regular review. It's very neutral and these guys just look at what the shoe is intended to do and if it does perform to the plate. Happy reading.

I actually bought a pair last week and they are extremely light. Very comfortable too, when you run you don't feel them on your feet and the movement is very fluid. One major flaw I came across is that the shoe laces tend to untie quite frequently which can be very annoying and unfortunate during a game.

Hmmm, never heard that from my SC peeps. Maybe double-knot? :oldlol: Interesting though. I hate it when that happens too. Used to happen to me a lot with my Decade GCS if I remember right.

If that's the case then I'll have to try a pair of the low's when I visit the states in a few weeks. I was leaning towards the air max 360 low.

IMO adidas has better quality vs. nike in everything except basketball shoes. I'm glad to see them stepping up

Just read that the adizero Rose 1.5 uses the same midsole and outsole of the original adizero Rose... so the "extra cushioning" was achieved by redesigning the outsole layout.

Can somebody explain this to me?

As much as I like adidas, IMO they should really develop something to go against the Air Max (not that powerbounce crap). For cushioning, Nike has Air Max, Air Max 360, Zoom Air, Lunarlon (which is a piece of crap), Shox, and Cushlon. Adidas only has adipure and powerbounce.

It means the soles don't stand out as much as the soles of the shoes they are being compared to when they are not in motion.

I think basically, if you're just standing idly, you won't feel the pods under you due to the small increase in cushioning. I've also heard that it feels quite similar to the Supernatural Creators, which I absolutely love and still use. My best balling shoes EVER, and they are super responsive. Pretty much the same outsole layout too, save the heel.

Well, with the direction they're going, I'm not sure it fits to have something similar to Max Air. With PureMotion, they've offered a more functional shoe that helps aid you through your foot's natural motion, providing that "barefoot" experience, and for those who have experienced it, it truly does work. I've been using adidas since grade school coz of the doctor's orders, but never have I been so HOOKED on the Three Stripes as I am now, and that's very much thanks to PureMotion. I have a collapsible arch and a history of nasty ankle sprains on both feet and knee issues, and I can't express to you in words how this has helped revive my feet.

Are you saying the Puremotion helps with your collapsed arch? BECAUSE THAT'S MY PROBLEM.

Man, what's up with us Pinoys and collapsible archs?! :oldlol:

Admittedly, I don't get technical, coz I tend to not know what to say or how to say, but simply put, I've been on PureMotion for a year and 4 months now and I've never encountered a day where I could not walk after playing, so I guess it works for me. :oldlol:

I must tell you though, as other widely used shoes, both in the past and present, don't exactly support that natural motion of the foot as much as PureMotion supports, you might experience some discomfort during the first few wears. For me and my collapsible arch, I got it for like 4 playing days, but it goes away after the first 10 minutes of jogging/running around. After that though, it's been smooth sailing for me. :P

Must be those damn havaianas sandals that was the craze 5-6 years ago. Another pinoy fried with collapsed arches went to our podiatrist in them and the doctor told him to throw them away for good.

Got a really bad case after running a quarter marathon. Just unbelievable pain on the arches at both sides of the foot (more on the right foot) that I couldn't walk the rest of the day.

Anyone know where to get the AdiZero Rose shoes (not low tops) in Black/Red/Silver basically all black with red stripes on the back, not the ones that Rose wears with the white toe, for around $100 in the US? I can only find them for around $130.

Like these: http://www.shopadidas.ca/product/IJ170/G20735/Sports/Mens-adiZero-ROSE-1-5/detail.jsf

You're not going to find them for $100 anywhere. Seeing as they were just released, don't expect them to dip too much below 130. Maybe, maybe the all whites because all whites/blacks seem to drop faster than other colorways, but I doubt it. Check eBay, Craigslist, Niketalk, etc...

You can, however, find 1.0s for $80 if you look around. Eastbay had a few at that price and I would expect Footlocker to drop the price to $80 as well so they can make room for 1.5s....

Edit: didn't realize that the retail on the 1.5s is $100. The black ones you want is the limited colorway. I HIGHLY doubt you will find those for $100.

How supportive are these? I love my hyperdunk lows and have had good luck not rolling my ankles so far but I think a lot of that has to do with the wing on the outer edge at the front of the shoe. The AdiZero doesn't seem to have that wing

http://www.kixandthecity.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/adidas-adizero-rose-low-3.jpg

Not a fan of this colorway but you can see the wings in this pick pretty well

Just occured to me that the Hyperdunk lows look a lot like the adizero feathers (tennis shoe) that I've been dreaming to get but can't (narrow)

It even has the "wings"

So who has the 1.5s here? I've decided on the AdiZeros but don't know whether to pick up some discounted 1.0s or go with the all green 1.5s. Gotta keep the hometown vibe goin...

Anyway, just looking for a short review on either.

My friend said the adizeros weren't very good. Like they were good, but that collar thing was really annoying and dug into his heel. He also said the 1.5 are VASTLY superior. Very light weight, low to the ground profile (built for PGs) ... very comfortable and durable. Better than a lot of Nike releases.

Too bad I can't get any, let a lone for discount prices. Here in Chicago and its surrounding areas, every Rose shoe has sold out. Only thing left is odd sizes that people don't normally wear.

I regularly go on niketalk, and supposedly its the best selling basketball shoe this year. And at brand new retail for $100 significantly cheaper than a lot of other signature shoes.

Bought a pair of Nike Zoom KD 3's. Worst basketball shoe I have ever owned. And have now permanently switched to Adidas.

Good lookin Swoosh. I almost bought the 1.0s but that heel thing kinda scared me off. I understand the shoe is built to wear a brace(and I wear one), but something about it didn't feel right when I tried it on. I saw the 1.5s at Footlocker and while they don't look as good as say, LeBrons, they are light as hell. Basically, exactly what I need. I'll be picking up a pair this weekend. I hear you on the shoe sizes...I wear a 14 and can't find it anywhere. I'm just gonna pick up a pair before they sell out. The limited colorways are filthy but I don't know about spending 130 on them...

I don't even **** with Nike...haven't bought a pair in YEARS. I only rock Adidas or maybe some Jordans. KDs look ugly anyway.

:D

I used to wear Adidas in middle school and early high school to play ball. I would wear Nikes and Jordan for casual wear, but I felt more comfortable playing ball in Adidas. They were great company to me for a long time. It helped that our next door neighbor worked for them and he always hooked me up, at very cheap prices to boot.

I wish they would retro these because I had them back in the day and they were so comfortable to play ball in ...

Clunky, stiff, un-comfortable

And I was with Nike ever since. Until I came to the conclusion, and after getting some very comfortable Adidas at their outlet here ... Nike's are purely making their money of their name now. The quality going into them is significantly less than what it used to be, and their prices remain the same and / or have gone higher. Adidas is significantly less, and as good or better in terms of quality.

I am amped for the Bulls home and away colorway for the adizero Rose 2.0 ... think they look way better than the adizeros and the 1.5's.

Good to see another adidas person in the Board. Honestly a lot of people are just so pro-nike that anything adidas makes they immediately hate on. But I guess there's people like that on both sides of the fence.

I read a lot about the Puremotion pods used in the adizero rose, the 1.5, the adipure and yes they were based off the feet you wear technology. A lot of people claimed to feel "running-shoe" type heel-toe transitions with the Puremotion pods.

Another thing I really like about adidas is the torsion system, were the heel and forefoot are allowed to move independently. For me one of the best solutions for foot stability issues in shoes.

One thing adidas is miles away is cushioning. Up to now, adidas uses the same cushioning technology (adiprene) for all their footwear, be it running, basketball, tennis. It would be nice if they had different options for different needs of the sport.

As a comparison, I just read the black lotus review of the air max 360 bb low. For cushioning they had a full air max unit then a cushlon midsole. The cushlon alone is the material they use for the pillowy Vomero running shoes.

Hopefully the white/blue low's become availlable soon, I hear they're already in stores back in Manila

:oldlol: Yeah I know Jordans are Nikes. I have nothing against the company itself, just the design and functionability. Brons are too clunky(ALL 8s are filthy looking though), Kobes are too tight and feel like running shoes, Hyperdunks have no real ankle support, Hyperfuses tear easy...I could go on and on about some of the older shoes. I think I have a pair of VC Shox somewhere in my room so it's not like I've never bought any. It's just....I always liked Adidas. They have their flaws but are for the most part comfortable and well-priced. I don't know about you, but I'm done spending $130+ on shoes...unless it's something rare and/or looks really really good. At that point, I won't even play ball in them. Like you said, Nike is living off their name and ability to churn out 20 thousand colorways of their premier shoes...

I **** with all the old school and new school Adidas shoes. In addition to the 1.5s, I look forward to picking up some Crazy 8s, TMac 2s(they NEED to retro these!), and whatever else they have. I just picked up some all green suede Dakota high tops. Ugly to most people but I throw on some 501s and I'm good to go.

Sidenote....someone told me that the 1.5s don't squeek on the court? What type of shit is that?

They've been available here since last month. :ohwell: Should come here fast though, heard they're selling out too.

And as with the cushioning, I know how everyone just loves to feel like they're walking on pillows, but that stuff ain't gonna work WITH you on the court. It's going to work AGAINST you. By having to go through "fluff" with each step, you're only make yourself slower, even by a fraction of a second, which is a lot of time in the sports world. I've never fully tried on/owned any Nike shoes in the past... 8 years, but I did try on my friend's Hypermaxes and ZKIVs and I think Zoom's one of the best things Nike's ever done. When I put the Max Air on my feet, well, that was another story. Not hating, just pulling the difference between cushioning as is popularly described and cushioning as it REALLY is when it comes to shoes. Think a lot of people get mixed up there.

And yup, that's one thing with a lot of Nike heads too. Anything without a Swoosh or with three stripes is automatically shit to them. Every once in a while, we get some shithead in the adi thread in SC that goes "PASS!!!!!" or "Shit looks unwerable." I REALLY respect those guys who favor Nike, but at the same time can say at least something as to WHY they think it's not for them.
