IDK.. I still have the Celtics and Heat over them. Though they've played excellent, far beyond my expectations thus far.. I just don't have that much faith in them in a 7 game series over those two teams.

People need to stop pushing this agenda. The Celtics are just better. But hey, nothing wrong with being #2.

What agenda? I'm not pushing anything tbh.. I too believe the Celtics are the best team in the east. Just saw this poll on the Daily Dime just now, and thought why not make a thread about it..

Not taking shots at the Celtics or propping up the Bulls by any means.

What agenda?
The Bulls have become the flavor of the month, since the buzz around the Heat has quieted some. So ESPN is hopping on board.

They are a very good team. But slow the horse a little. Prove it in the playoffs.

03-23-2011, 09:51 AM
they aren't the Cavs of the past 2 years IMO, but that doesn't mean they're a shoe-in to beat the Celts or the Heat for that matter either. I don't really hold the Heat at the same level as the Celts, but clearly any team is in for a hectic series with 3 of the best players in the league on the same roster.

The Bulls just baffle me. I'm still having trouble believing they are as good as they have been this year. In any case, they can definitely beat anyone not named Boston (Miami, Orlando are unproven as far as I'm concerned). Boston's the only question mark.

Celtics better than the Bulls? :oldlol:

Maybe at playing nursing home bingo or something, but not at basketball.

Rose is in a different stratosphere than Rondo
Noah is better than any combination of Boston's scrub centers

Boozer and Garnett are a wash

Allen/Pierce definitely over Bogans/Deng

Bulls bench >>> Celtics bench

Bulls record >>> Celtics record despite more injuries.

I'd say Bulls in 6 only because they take it easy a few games after going up 3-0.

Dude, please...

Losing Boozer and Noah (second/third best players for a combined 60 games) vs losing Rondo and Garnett for what, 15-20 games and then scrubs like Jermaine O'Neal, Perkins, 40 year old Shaq etc.

It's like Bulls fans complaining if they lost guys like Ronnie Brewer, Taj Gibson etc or Heat fans crying (which they do) about losing Udonis Haslem. :oldlol: It's silly.

As much as I want the Bulls to go all the way, I would not be surprised to see Boston use their guile and championship experience to squeak by Chicago in the ECF.

But if the Bulls keep curb stomping teams the way they have been recently the skies the limit.

As far as the Heat go, a first round flameout is not out of the question.

I think most Bulls fans would be happy with the Bulls reaching the ECF.....So a loss there would not exactly be a let down....

The thing that most people are not really talking more about is the Bulls' overall future...What the Bulls do in the upcoming playoffs will merely be a dress rehearsal....It should be seen in the same light as the Bulls in the late '80s trying to get over Isiah's Pistons....

Basketball fans who loath the Bulls/Rose should start getting used to the idea of the very young Bulls being future contenders for years to come...Because they are basically pulling this off now without a viable starting shooting guard and a rash of injuries and a 22-year-old PG who is only scratching the surface of his talents...

Once they get an above average SG (no need to get a star at that position) who can consistently make a wide open jumper, the Bulls and Rose will truly be scary...

Dengness9
03-23-2011, 01:22 PM
Truth is, real Bulls fans know that the Celtics are the EC reigning champs. Just because the Bulls may finish with the 1 seed doesn't mean we are the "best" team in the East.

The way the Bulls have looked this year, especially lately, does lead some to believe the Bulls can win the East in the playoffs but we all know how tough it will be.

With that said, I do think the Bulls are the most feared team in the East heading into the playoffs especially if they lockup HCA. This Bulls squad isn't last years Cavaliers. This is a MUCH better team with better players collectively at the top with a better bench and DEFINITELY better coaching(no disrespect to Mike Brown.)

This Bulls squad is absolutely unproven in the playoffs obviously, but no more unproven as the Heat, Magic, Knicks, etc.

My optimism for the Bulls chances to make a run at the finals is how strong the concept of TEAM is in Chi town. These guys trust each other, play as unselfishly as any team I've seen this year, have a superstar player, and are a team built off proven championship ideals like defense and rebounding.

Coach Thibs knows how to gameplan to shutdown teams and superstar players as evidenced by his time with the Celts and even what he has done with the Bulls this year.

Make no mistake about it, the East is still owned by the Celtics until someone takes it from them. But this Bulls team is the opposite of cocky and they are focused.

In the end I actually think it's gonna be a Bulls/Lakers finals. IMO Bulls get the 1 seed (which they need terribly) and Boston and Miami duke it out in the 2nd round in a 6 or 7 game series. I can't see Boston losing that series but I can see it taking enough out of an old team to where the Bulls will have had a much less tougher path and are much fresher for the ECF, giving them the series edge.

Only time will tell.

P.S. Chuck, you still want bet on Bulls losing in 1st round???? Whoever loses the bet never posts on ISH again. Don't back down now from your own words.

I think his point is the bulls won a awhile ago while there are members of the current Heat who have won it all with Miami (Wade, Haslem), and overall the Heat have more Finals experience as 6 players on the Miami roster have been to the Finals - who know what it takes to get there.

It's usually the veteran teams with post season success deep into the playoffs that go far in the playoffs. Not the young teams with inexperience led by a 22 year old PG. Never happened before.

06 Playoff Wade > Any playoff MJ.

Sorry, but Wade didn't need no Pippen or Rodman to win it all. :pimp:

Nope, just needed a Shaq. And do you remember what happened in the playoffs the year after that 2006 championship? Shall I remind you (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/2007-04-29-1153254830_x.htm)

Real talk. How am I suppose to react when you say some shit about Wade > Jordan in the playoffs....

I'm not talking shit right now. How am I suppose to react to that.

If you posted more level headed shit then you wouldn't be grouped in with those clowns.

I've seen too many unbiased posters ask you what happened to you. They all say you use to be respectable and I can tell they aren't lying.

It's ok to defend your squad but you've built up a wall of lame excuses and you give no credit where it's due.

Until you get back to where you "apparently" use to be as a credible poster, you are no different than Pawk, Lebron23, or ashbelly.

Once again. Real talk. I'm trying to have a real convo with you right now.

Good post.

Actually terrible post.

Bulls lost to the OLD knicks team twice and in the 1st meeting boozer was hurt, then on Christmas Noah was hurt.

On top of that, the new knicks haven't played the full strength Bulls yet. But they have a regular season matchup right around the corner. We'll see what happens then.

But trust me when I say the Bulls aren't worried about a Knicks team that is unraveling quicker than quick. 1-7 in their last 8.....

Umm yea. Shhh.

Nice. I liked that the Heat were brought down to earth against those elite teams in that 11 game series of tough games. We learned our weaknesses and learned to play as a team more. It came at the right time so hopefully we can pass Boston for the 2nd seed (being only 1 1/2 game behind them and playing them) and get hot by the time the playoffs start.

Should be an exciting playoffs

What's amazing is the Heat are Top 3 for offensive efficiency. They're 2nd in FG% on offense AND 2nd in FG% on defense.

And this is with them holding back their offense so much in the regular season. Just wait til the boys unleash their true offense in the postseason ;-)

It has been proven time and time again that balance is what's most important in determining teams who go very far in the playoffs. Not the teams with the best offense or defense, but the teams with the best "balance". And Miami has the best balance in the East BY FAR.

Couple this with the fact that they have a lot of experience on the team with 6 players who have been to the Finals, along with other players who have been to conference finals. There's plenty of experience in that room, and players who know what it takes in the playoffs to make it through the Finals. And we all know how the veteran teams with star talent always show themselves in the playoffs.

There is a very good reason why all the big money is still on the Heat to win the Eastern conference. Even now all the big money is moving to the Heat. All the high rollers who make a great living on betting basketball, and study trends with obvious indicators are placing their bets on the Heat.
