Aldridge scored 40 on them, that was when they had Duncan, and Portland won the game.

I think we can win one of those games. Doubt they go 6-0.

Its a long shot, but if the Lakers don't end up with the number one seed were fine with number 2. This only became a possibility because Duncan got injured, but they're still a very good team without him and could steal a couple of these games.

Phantom_Blue
03-24-2011, 02:30 AM
That's one tough schedule, Portland is fighting for position, PHX, Memphis & Houston are fighting for the 8th spot, Boston might actually be the easiest game there, but i'm sure they'll bring it for a contending team.

With Duncan out, there's a possibility for 0-6. I'm thinking more 3-3 though, with losses to Portland, Memphis & Houston.

ThaSwagg3r

Best case scenario is that they go 4-2
Worst case scenario is that they go 0-6.

They will still keep that 1st seed.

It's not happening

Spurs got the 1st seed but how many games is the question. My guess it won't end up being that many which would be amazing considering how inconsistant we were before the all-star break.

For me as long as have homecourt over Dallas, Boston/Miami/Thunder thats all that matters.

I wouldn't laugh.. The Lakers can play great now thAT bYNUM is back.. And the Spurs are missing their best big.. The Spurs are also facing a tough schedule the next six games... Last nights game was a big one.. If the Spurs win that one than it would be hard to catch you guys but it may just happen.. Either way Rose will get MVP but the Lakers will get the first seed.. Which may not be too bad since OKC will be waiting in the second round...

Bynum being healthy really makes the Lakers unbeatable.. Without him the Lakers are still very good to great but are beatable... And won two close games to Portland and the SUns... Bynum is going to dominate for the next two weeks...

The Lakers will get close to the Spurs cuz they are missing their best big...

The good news for the Lakers...they are gaining ground...the bad news is they're not doing it very fast. In fact, it looks more like the normal fluctuation in games over the year:

Lakers games behind the Spurs at week:

12: 5.5
13: 5.5
14: 7.5
15: 7.5
16: 7.5
17: 8.5
18: 8.0
19: 6.5
20: 7.5
21: 6.5

So, in the last 4 weeks, the Lakers have been playing their best ball of the year by far and the Spurs have been playing their worst and LA has made up all of 2 games. But yah, in these last 3 weeks (less time) I'm sure they will make up 3 times that amount. No, really guys...I'm sure they will. No, I'm serious. I promise...this happens all the time in the NBA. :applause:

All the Spurs need to do is loss 4 more games until their meeting with LA; and LA needs to win their remaining 11 games. They have a meeting with SA at Staples, it could decide the HCA.

4 losses over their last 9 games isn't impossible considering they have a pretty difficult schedule. Still even if LA falls short, like 2-3 games, I'd still be impressed considering they were at one point back like 10 games.

If the Lakers win against the Jazz (which is likely) tomorrow while the Spurs lose (which is likely), then the 1st seed will go to Lakers.

In the end, the standings might be:

Lakers 62-20
Bulls 61-21
Spurs 60-22
Heat 58-24
Celtics 57-25

Lakers are rolling and SA is in the midst of their longest losing streak every since they got Tim Duncan (only 5 which is freaking amazing). As long as LA doesn't catch them it's ok. If LA catches them, knocks SA back, there is no one who can tell me that isn't a bad thing psychologically for them. I'm sorry.

No, it means Popovich was using smoke and mirrors to stretch his lineups beyond their capabilities. Why do you think he's not pissed about this losing streak? He knew it would catch up to them in the end.

Every year since Tim Duncan arrived they've been a defensive, slow-it-down juggernaught. This year? All offense, no defense. Teams weren't prepared for that. Now they are. Simple as that.

Spurs have five games between now and the Lakers game. Those five games are all against below .500 teams.

If they win them all, which I see them doing, they have the number one seed locked up, even if the Lakers win against the Spurs and even if the Spurs also lose their final game of the season against Phoenix, which I don't expect.

What I see is after the Spurs win the five, Pop will rest Tim, Manu and possibly Parker for the Lakers game.

Obvious homer post. Any team who posts a better record than LA, it must be a fluke, huh? What a clown.

Pop's not pissed about the streak because Duncan missed 4 of the 6 games, and he cares more about health than standings. Welcome to over 15 years ago where he's always cared more about health than reg season wins.

As for your huge lie of "no defense", the Spurs have been the #1 or #2 defensive team in the western conference for almost the entire season until mid March.

Wow, the OP is a prophet. :oldlol:

I'm not sure, but it all depends on how you interpret the last game between these two teams.

Or the first two.

Spurs do need to figure their shit out asap. I think they will. All they need now is one good win and I see that happening Sunday.

If Spurs win out, hell, If Spurs only lose one game the rest of the way, HCA is theirs. How then do the Lakers have HCA in their hands?

Reading and logic is most definitely fundamental.Nope. The Lakers and Spurs play one more time, and if the Lakers win out, it means they win that game, and also get the tie breaker.

They're not holding anything other than the title for most over hyped team in the NBA.

Yeah Okay, that's why Chicago has dominated the Spurs 7 out of 8 quarters this season. Give it up, Chicago is going to finish with the best record in the NBA. Yes...it's working!!!

In 2007, the Cavs dominated 8/8 qts. in the regular season versus the Spurs.

Yeah, that turned out fantastic for them in the playoffs, huh?

You can have your regular season accomplishments.

You're probably of the age where this is your first real taste of Bulls being a above average team in the NBA.

You are probably at the age where you just realized that the Spurs are every bit of fugazi as the Mavs are. No one is afraid of your team or even respects them. Everyone knows the Thunder are a better team than the Spurs and will prove it this postseason. The Mavs never do ish in the post season and these old azz non-defense playing Spurs are going to do the same thing this postseason...aka NOTHING!

Spurs need the HCA a lot more then LA, so I really could care less. Getting the #1 overall seed would be nice, especially considering how dominant we have been since the break; but blah, we have home court over Boston & Miami as it stands right now, those two are important advantages to have.

We can beat SA on the road if it comes to it.
But six straight losses? Wow, how the mighty have fallen.

Pretty much

What L.A are doing now is a bonus, this team only really wants homecourt badly for the finals.

Scary thing is the lakers coasted all through the first half of the season were behind the Spurs by a good 9 games at one point while Spurs played pretty much perfect basketball and now with 8 games to go we are only 1.5 games back? scary how much this team can turn it on.

it's not the playoffs yet, there is lots of time, but LOL at anyone actnig like this is somehow a good sign for the SPurs. LA
New Orleans
Dallas
@ Utah
Denver

Both have 1 elite
Both play 2 lower than 8 seeds
I guess LA has more home games, but yah you guys will probably catch the Spurs. In fact, it's pretty much a guarantee...I mean, you're as close as you've been in months (6 games away) :oldlol:

When is a good time to be playing your best basketball... November? January? Nope. Right now, leading into the playoffs.

Spurs have been exposed. If you really think they are making the finals you are delusional.

It seems like nobody gives a shit about the Spurs.

They had a great record this year-no one talked about it too much.
They are on a 6 games losing streak-no one talks about it too much.

On the other hand Miami and New York are the different story.
They win few in a row-unstoppable
They lose few in a row-world is collapsing

Spurs nearly beat the Blazers without Duncan, Parker, and Manu.... when seeing that, I wasn't that worried, and it shows that depth is better for SA now... This team is talented and experienced... I do think this isn't the best time to lose momentum though... but I don't think the Spurs are "collapsing" by any means, some of the losses have been really close and competitive... I'd rather see that, then the team actually collapsing, becoming abysmal, and losing any "fire" that they had before. The team is still playing tough, and I think they will make it to the WCF all things considered. Outside of that idk. I predicted the Celtics to win this championship, right before the season started, but that was with Perkins and assuming Shaq and JO would be healthy.

The only reason people are speaking up is because of how ridiculous it would be if it actually happened. The Spurs have been far and away the best team in the league this year, and yet nobody has put them above the Lakers or Celtics for various reasons. Now the one advantage they had going into the postseason is slowly slipping away. It's just funny/weird/shocking.
