View Full Version : Who is the most genetically blessed NBA player of all time?

KB2clutch

i mean genetically blessed as in the biological term, not just in terms of their fit to nba. So you take into account intelligence, facial beauty, body, height, athleticism etc. Under this, i would give it hands down to kobe, this guy just has superior genetics compared to 99.9999999% of the world. He has model good looks, above average intelligence (couldve went to duke),6'6, best nba player in the world, his hairline is still amazing, skin looks pretty good, still looks like he's in his mid 20's and his stats in the gym are off the charts for someone his hieght (bench press, squat etc.)

Any retard good at basketball can get into Duke. Kobe wouldn't have gotten in on academic merit. The stupidest thing I remembered being hyped early on in Kobe's career is that he was "smart" because he spoke Italian and had a 1080 SAT. Anyone growing up for at least a few years in another country while young and going to school there would be able to pick up the language as well. Are we supposed to be impressed?

A college application with a 1080 SAT would go straight to the wastebasket in any high end university. That score was only slightly above average. Stephon Marbury went to Georgia Tech and left after his freshman year. No one had the illusion that he could have passed a single math, science, or engineering course there.

The loling at the Kobe bishop polishing aside....

Just purely physically, Wilt Chamberlain hands down.

All-around, David Robinson by a mile. The guy had a 1340 SAT and a 7-1 gymnast's physique (he could handstand walk the length of the basketball court). He's also the only black man my mother has ever complimented as being "quite handsome", which is a BFD considering that my mother is one of those older Asian women who generally consider blacks as being "dirty".

OP is saying if we count ability, body physique, health, and looks...

Id say Ray Allen is probably one of those "genetically A grade"people.

Dude is 6'4 for women that like tall guy
Dude is ripped all over
Was a great athlete in his prime
Pretty durable
Most women comment on his looks, hes a good looking guy.

But to be 35 and have like crazy low body fat is ridiculous how shredded he is.

well, not everyone does that well on the SAT, especially NBA players. i'd be willing to bet he scored higher on the SAT than 95% of the current NBA players. also, when you're dedicating so much of your life to basketball, you probably don't focus on school as much. i think kobe made a career choice when he was young, and it obviously worked out for him.

I think good-looks are underrated when scouting players (I know that sounds retarded, but here me out) <<--- that's supposed to be ironic

A lot of the greats are very good looking:
Kobe, MJ, Wade, Wilt, Hakeem, D-Rob, Isaiah, Magic, Barkley, Malone, West, Drexler, Iverson, Garnett (in a sense), Wade, Pettit, Frazier, thin Shaq, C-Webb, Penny, Ray Allen, Grant Hill, T-Mac, Dr. J, Mourning, Kidd etc.

sure, there are exception like Bird, Elgin, Lebron, Walton, Ewing, Bill Russell, Reggie Miller, Mutumbo,
... but there seems to be a correlation between greatness and looks... it even extends to baseball:
Mantle, A-Rod, thin Bonds, Clemente, Ted Williams, Gehrig, Mays, Babe Ruth (jk)... maybe I'm reaching a little, am I crazy?

was waiting for somebody to say it

even when it was on the 1600 scale, the scoring/difficulty has changed a bunch of times over the years

I read Shaq's book and he mentioned that Kobe had a higher combined score than Chris Dudley and I was wondering why nobody pointed out to Diesel that the scoring had changed about twice between Dudley and Kobe.

George Bush's score was leaked also and people didn't take the same thing into consideration.

best way to compare scores is by which percentile a person scored in.

Life's about being happy and having fun. The true winners of the genetic lottery are the guys with outgoing, fun personalities.

Magic, Mchale, Lebron...those guys are winners.

If we are going by the OP's criteria..intelligence, good looks, athleticism...

what about J.J Reddick..smart, has the record for pulling the most tail as a freshman at duke and won the Iron Magic last year as the most athletic person on the Orlando Magic in their annual competition (that's right, he dusted Dwight).

Back in those days, the SAT was only math/verbal for a max combined score of 1600. 900-950 was about average. You needed at least 1200 to get into a place like Georgia Tech; at least 1300 for Ivy league, MIT, Stanford, the like.
