i dont see a significant change for better or worse. as others said, Rose would be the 2nd option to Durant. That's not saying Durant's a ball hog or anything, he's just one of the top players in the league. because of that, Rose won't be able to dominant as much as he can in chicago.
the better question is switch lebron with rose... what happens?
championships... dynasty.... lebron averages a 30 point triple double....
easy...

if LeBron went to chicago in that situation, i'd see them having similar playoff fates as LeBron's cleveland teams. the Bulls would be a better team than LeBron's cleveland teams but dont see them winning a ring.
as for rose going to the heat, I think they'd have a more legit shot at a championship. with a good PG like that, they might be better at spreading the ball around.
wont change anything lakers still champs

No way Russell will thrive in this bulls set-up and vice versa.

Your basing your opinion off stats too much Pauk. While westbrook is a somewhat similar player Rose is a lot smarter and a better leader. He doesn't kill momentum with stupid and careless mistakes like Westbrrok either. RW could not lead this Bulls team past 50 wins.
& Rose + Durant would be a similar dynamic perimeter scoring duo to Wade and Lebron.

Westbrook is not the leader and closer that DRose is. And Westbrook does not have to face double and triple teams because of Durant. DRose constantly faces doubles and triples.
Put Westbrook on the Bulls and the Bulls are a 500 team but they are not close to leading the Eastern Conference.

the best thing in this young Derrick Rose is his leadership. i'm amazed by that.
the last time time i was amazed was watching Tim Duncan dominating the nba.

Would the Bulls run Westbrook off the ball like they do Rose?
Rose plays SG even when he's the PG on the floor many possession a game. They run him through screens and double screens off the ball. OKC never does that for Westbrook.
Westbrook is much better at playing Robin then Batman. He's the much more traditional PG. It's crazy when people say the opposite, Rose never sets the offense, he's the 1st option, over half his assists are off a nothing play. And far more of Roses assists then Westbrooks are outside jump shots.
Westbrook basically gets his points in any system since there mostly one of three types. Fastbreak, penetration and pullup, penetration to the rim.
Rose keeps the ball in his hand longer to score when he has the ball, and also plays off the ball far more then Westbrook. OKC runs much more of a 3 or 4 pass offense. The Bulls play much more iso for Rose, set screens, etc.
I don't think OKC is as good with Rose. And I don't think Chicago is as good as with Westbrook. If you have a #1 option Westbrook is the better PG. If you don't have a #1 option Rose is the better PG. And that's not because Rose gets played different then Westbrook. It's because Westbrook's points would come without taking away from your #1 option more then Rose's would. Meanwhile, if Westbrook's inconsistency in points (it's not really a knock on him his points come from non traditional means a lot) wouldn't really let an offense gel.

All he does is troll. Your opinion lines up with his, but he never gives props to Rose, ever.
He comes in threads and starts threads solely to start shit.
He's not expressing a different opinion, he isn't interested in debate, he just wants to ruin threads.
And stop acting like the thread police, if you're going to do that at least be fair.
All you've done is attack Bulls fans, coming in at the ass end of arguments and taking sides.

entropy35
04-08-2011, 01:44 AM
They would be about where they are now. Westbrook has better defense than rose , but rose has slightly better offense (even though his Fg% is lower). Without Durant, Westbrook has faced double teams and has done very well. So i would say he would win MVP if he was in the same position.
Please note that defense is 50% of the game. So when comparing players defense should have a 50% weighting. The difference between rose's offense compared to Westbrook is smaller than the difference between their defense. By that logic Westbrook is better overall player? Opinions?

If what I'm reading is correct, OKC is having a terrible season.
How is it possible that a team with an MVP caliber guy like Westbrook playing alongside a top5 player in Durant is not leading the West and the league?
Monta Ellis numbers are very similar to Kobe Bryant's numbers too.
Kevin Love is the MVP.

No he's a troll. Having an opinion is one thing. Writing 10 threads a day dedicated to down-playing Rose and specifically going into threads stating the same argument he's posted in his own threads just to complete the same agenda makes him a troll. Especially when through his own threads the vast majority have already disagreed.

Pauk and Heat007 act so butt-hurt that thread like this one is rather funny than annoying. They just cannot handle the fact that D-Rose has taken the league by storm, and has made countless clutch plays while Miami's superstars basically folded in similar situations all season long.
To downgrade Rose, they are grasping at Westbrook's straw. Suck it, b!tches!

Your passive-aggressive demeanor won't help change people's minds, either. I don't care about 26/7/7 when he averages "c/h/o/k/e" late in games.

They're still contenders and likely to win 50+ games, but I'm not sure they go as deep in the postseason. Rose might be a volume scorer, but he's closed out a handful of games with scoring skills I don't think Westbrook could do in his dreams.

so if he was worse than brian scal the first three quarters but in the fourth hit the shot to win it every game you'd respect him as a great player? I Wouldnt, he would be a robert horry type player to me. just remember, EVERY player in basketball history has their flaws, even Jordan, But should be respected for their good aspects anyway.Back in the 90s did you call Jordan a selfish ballhog who couldnt make a three to save his life? i dont know what changes, maybe a few less wins here and there. you cant just throw a guy out there who hasnt played in a certain system, its not as if rose became what he is overnight. hes been improving since he got in the league, and westbrook has as well. but westbrook at times plays out of control. hes kinda like WILD THING.
but im sure most these rose/westbrook threads are made for the wrong reasons. to bring rose down a notch. well whatever, for what its worth i'd rather have westbrook but rose is definitely the better player, if not because he is THE man on his team than because he is having a pretty damn good season.

OKC's problem is they are forced to downsize and have Ibaka guard Bosh at the 3 point line. It negates his shotblocking and Miami scores easy in the paint like San Antonio did the first 2 games.
They are also forced to play Sefolosha because they need a perimeter defender against Wade and Lebron. That messes up their offense.
So replacing Rose with Westbrook does not help OKC against Miami at all.

Nice hypotheticals. Healthy rose was clearly better than westbrook. One averaging 28.5 points and 7 assists againts the top 8 teams in the league, the other under 20 and 5.5 assists.
