Hopefully he stays gone a while. I liked Edge, but I haven't found him all that entertaining the last year or two.

I liked Edge as a mid card to high mid card talent. When he became a main eventer winning title after title, I didn't like it. He just doesn't appeal to me as a main event talent.

I agreed with that for a long time, but really, his mic skills and charisma put him over the top.
It's not that I didn't like him, he just shouldn't have been a main eventer (same with his brother, The Hardy Boyz and Rey Jr and to some extent Chris Benoit and maybe Eddui Guerro.) He only became one due to that stupid brand split.

He had been talking about retiring lately. Said he had only 1 or 2 more years left in him and didn't want to be one of those guys that wrestles for so long they can't walk properly when they're 50. Sounds like his neck made him make the decision a bit early. I really liked him in E&C and as the Rated R Superstar. Never dug him as a good guy, he just has that something about him that makes me boo him.

I've barely watched since 2006 but that just seems nuts. He had like 2 or 3 last time I watched.

If real good to see him leave before he gets all ****ed up

You don't think Eddie G and Benoit were main eventers, but you think Hall should have had a World title run? If those guys aren't main eventers he sure isn't. His gimmick far exceeded his in ring skills.

Eddie G, I'd say yeah but Benoit, was just boring. Had no personality, I can't think of one great interview this dude had. Hall was actually cool and decent in the ring (if not drunk.)

Chris didn't really need mic skills. Steamboat wasn't great on the mic either.

Benoit's World Title win over Triple H and HBK is one of the better WWE moments.

For those who are wondering, the Edge retirement speech was 100% legitimate and real. We were told by a company source earlier this evening that when the major announcement was made tonight, it was not an angle and not storyline.

The story that Edge told about medical tests coming back and showing there was a new issue with his neck and being advised he must retire is true. He was basically handed a mic and told to go out and say goodbye however he wanted.

WWE's website posted an article on Edge's retirement, noting that Edge had suffering numbness and uncontrollable trembling in his arms and hands of late, symptoms of nueropraxia, a nervous system disorder. Edge was experiencing similar issues when he underwent neck fusion surgery several years ago.

According to the WWE website, Edge underwent an MRI last Monday.

After the MRI was examined by WWE's Medical Director Dr. Joseph Maroon, Edge was diagnosed with stenosis of the spine, which in layman's terms, means his spinal cord was narrowing from the abuse he's taken since returning to the ring from his 2003 neck fusion surgery.

With the damage to his spinal cord, continued abuse of the neck from bumping could result in serious injury, including paralysis.

Mid carders don't need mic work, but main eventers do. I wanna be entertained by a main event (50/50 mic/ring work.) Mid card and undercard, it's mostly ring work, cause they rarely get on the mic.

In WCWm I loved Benoit and in WWF when he was a high mid card wrestler. When he started gettin main event pushes vs Austin and stuff, I'm like wtf!!

Edge is one of the best on the mic. Great in the ring as well. So by your logic, he is a main eventer. He clearly deserved the title as much as Scott Hall did. Especially if you look at the work that edge has put in.

anyways, its now time for WWE to come up with another face main eventer. This is what happens when you don't build the newer guys. Its not gonna be Christian because Vince doesn't like him, Rey is injury prone and is a fakkit, Taker is taking his annually 10 months vacation, Big Show is boring, Kofi is black so you know that ain't happening.

They(Like Kane and Undertaker) are only brother in kayfabe. IRL they are really good friends but not brothers.

Could they push Kane as a big face monster now? He was really loved for a long time before they decided to job him to everyone. I also think Orton moving back to smackdown could make some sense.

They don't need new talent, they should divide the show up into 3 separate brands. it's stupid.

Imagine if they had the WWE Draft or Brand back in the Attitude era, some of the great fues wouldn't have happened cause dudes would have been separated.

Stone Cold and Undertaker on RAW, Rock and Triple H on Smackdown, Val Venis and D'Lo Brown on Sunday Night Heat

EricGordon23

They just gotta get rid of the wwe title. Combine the shows since I can almost guarantee that rey mysterio retires at WM28. Make it so there is one main title and have amazing feuds again. And they gotta push Ted Dibiase instead of COdy rhodes.

very true. they should combine the shows, it creates more depth for the intercontinental and us championship, the tag team championship and the world titles. also much better feuds.

some of the best tag teams happened because of the combination of shows. we never would have seen chris jericho and chris benoit combine if they weren't feuding over the IC title.
