I think it might be bad, he had his head in his hands when he was down. He knew immediately that it was bad. When the trainer was talking to phil and the coaches on the bench, it looked tense. I think if it isn't too bad they should rest him till the WCF if they get that far.

Its one thing to troll, but when you enter the realm of making fun of fanbases, and players and teams when their key pieces go down with potential high end injuries, arent we getting a bit into the scum-baggery territory?

gasol has about 3 more years to be a 20 10 guy, Odom can play at current level for about 3 more years. keep most of your young bench, Kobe can still give u 25ppg for 2 more years i believe. If Bynum goes down with ANOTHER injury that hinders him completely or keeps him out of the playoffs YET AGAIN then its time for this kid to bounce. LA is WASTING their time with this kid.

Actually, If they had the chance to have gotten Melo. that would have been perfect for LA...in the 2 years later Kobe is no longer to be the consistent first option, you have a 27-28 year old 6'8 SF who can give you 25-30ppg with 7-8 rebounds and good timely defense.

The funniest part about is, arguing with people who INSISTED that I would be "crazy" for wanting to ship Bynum out for another potential superstar (if Carmelo was the case) because the size advantage he presented for LA was too great, and was our biggest asset.

But what fu*king good is an asset at this point if the kid is NEVER healthy for any championship postseason runs?

He provides NOTHING for us in terms of being readily, and healthy when the time matters.

YES, last year we pulled it off with him hobbling around on one leg, but realistically, with guys like Kobe and co. getting older....how much longer can it be excused?

Get well Andrew

I hope you guys get CP3 or a Deron Williams type of player. Lakers needs to have a new franchise player once Kobe starts to decline.

LA collectively are holding their breath waiting for this kid's MRI tomorrow.

I just cant see LA wasting anymore time on Bynum. He isnt in LA's future.

I always LOL at people who overrated Bynum's impact...have you checked out his postseason numbers? Its close to non-existent. The result will be the same if Bynum is playing or not playing in the playoffs because that is all-stars shine and Bynum has never been all-star material.

Definitely should of tried to get Melo or LaMarcus Aldridge.

I dont know man....to me, it wasnt really about Andrew's numbers, but his presence in the paint alone would sway teams.

A legit 7 footer, is a legit 7 footer. But as Ive stated....if he can never go in healthy, then wtf is the point?

Christ, the kid goes down with a hyperextension and the LA fanbase on this board is already packing his bags and buying him a plane ticket.

Mellow out already. Even with a propensity for injuries, is this how you repay key players to your championship seasons?

donald_trump
04-13-2011, 12:57 AM
Ive said it to ALL of my friends.

If Bynum goes down with ANOTHER injury that hinders him completely or keeps him out of the playoffs YET AGAIN then its time for this kid to bounce. LA is WASTING their time with this kid.

This is why i was ALL FOR them trading him for Carmelo Anthony (if that was the case even)

What good is that "size advantage" if he ISNT ON THE FLOOR??

i agree to the extent that l.a. would still have a size advantage even without bynum there.
its a shame though. lakers did a great job finding a guy who clearly is a great player at a young age and who knows how to use his size and length. i think if he ever does get it together in terms of injuries that he will be a great player. a 20/10 type guy with great defense due to being such a presence.

i honestly believe he has the same effect as dwight in terms of deterring players to drive into the paint. hes not there yet in other things on the defensive end, though there is no denying his length deters a lot of drives.

That's really shitty. No Steve Blake, and now Bynum goes down.

Hope he's alright to play at some point in the playoffs.

this is ****ing stupid. So you wanted bynum for melo? And how exactly would kobe/melo coexist? Kobe is going to want to be the man regardless.. mello wont do shit

oh the horror
04-13-2011, 01:01 AM
Its really a drag. If the Lakers were going to be bounced out. I'd rather see a hard fought series, with teams at full capacity, rather than a key player going down.

I felt the same way about Perk, when LA played Boston last year. It was just shitty to watch. You dig the fact that your team won, but there is always that factor of the whole "what if" involved.

Kobe

Artest is not aging well at all. doesnt even use his size in the post. Lakers need an athletic 3 in the Gerald Wallce/Thad Young/Deng mold.

I think any team that gets Chris Paul will need to get a poor mans version of him as a back up. I do not know how he will age because of his injuries.

Good to hear.. he should have an idea of how severe his injury is after going through nearly every knee injury there is. Hopefully the MRI reveals nothing more than a bone bruise.

And the trolling is pathetic.. reveals how half this board is made up of teenagers, lol

Does that include the throngs of Laker fans prepared to ship Bynum out before this evenings game had even concluded?

I say, get the kid the hell outta here!

this is the reason why players doesnt play defense. theyre sacrificing their bodies or theyre taking contacts from driving players at full speed just to stop them from scoring now that theyre injured, youre going to trade them?

Don't wanna scare Laker fans here but the most common non-contact mechanism of injury of an ACL injury is Knee Hyper extension. Second is Rotation on a planted foot.

I don't think he tore his ACL. If he did he would have been in excruciating pain. It didn't look that way.

I think Lakers fans should be optimistic. He walked off court under his own power and he said if next game was Game 7 of Finals, he would play. I'm guessing its not that bad.

Not necessarily. I've had patients with severe ACL tears who felt minimal pain and could walk on the knee, though with significant instability. Quite a few, in fact.

I don't understand why so many people like to see this guy injured. Im not a Lakers fan but I want to see the best players play and with the lack of quality big men in this league, a healthy Bynum would be great. Do you people hate the Lakers because it's the cool thing to do or because you despise them for being so good? Im a Wolves fan and I see no reason to hate the Lakers.

Even if his knee was injured it isn't as if they'd come out and say it. With the Lakers recent struggles the last thing they would need is Bynum injured and reports coming out about how he might not be back for X amount of time.

this worries me a bit, so many injuries it may be slightly difficult for him to secure his spot as the greatest basketball player of all time. Now don't get me wrong, I am still quite certain this will happen, as I am sure all of you still feel it will happen as well. But I am a little concerned, I must admit.
