Forward Andrei Kirilenko will soon begin practicing with Russia for the 2011 EuroBasket tournament.
Kirilenko stated several times last season while playing for the Jazz that he intended to compete for Russia. Insurance (http://www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/news/lateNews/arti.asp?newsid=48230) will not be an issue, and Kirilenko is fully healed (http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/jazz/51789616-87/kirilenko-jazz-utah-lakers.html.csp) from injuries that forced him to miss Utah's final 10 games of the 2010-11 campaign.
Kirilenko is no longer under contract with the Jazz and will be a free agent once the 2011-12 season starts.
Jazz center Mehmet Okur has returned to the United States and is doing well.

Kosta Koufos had 10 points and 10 rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench.
Jazz rookie center Enes Kanter scored a co-game high 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting and pulled down seven rebounds Wednesday during his debut in the 2011 EuroBasket tournament in Panevezys, Lithuania.
Kanter also clocked a team-high 21 minutes, 58 seconds for Turkey, which defeated Portugal 79-56 during a first-round game.
Orlando Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu added 14 points for Turkey, which held a 64-38 lead after three quarters.
Kanter ran the court smoothly and shot a perfect 6 of 6 from the field during the first half. He did not see much action during the second half, and ended the game with three personal fouls.
Turkey will play Great Britain on Thursday, Lithuania on Friday and Poland on Sunday.

Jazz rookie center Enes Kanter hit double digits again.
Kanter recorded 11 points and grabbed five rebounds Thursday during Turkey's 90-61 blowout victory against Great Britain during a EuroBasket 2011 first-round contest in Panevezys, Lithuania.
Orlando Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu added seven points for Turkey, while Chicago Bulls center Omer Asik contributed seven points and nine rebounds.
Bulls forward Luol Deng scored a game-high 22 points for Great Britain, but shot just 6 of 16 from the floor.
Turkey improved to 2-0 with the victory and will play Lithuania on Friday.
Kanter is averaging 12.5 points and six rebounds through two contests while shooting 71.4 percent (10 of 14) from the field. He was 5 of 5 from the free throw line Thursday, displaying a soft touch at the stripe and running the court well during the fast break. Asik was more of an inside offensive presence Thursday, though, while Kanter at times was unable to collect defensive rebounds and control the paint.
Elsewhere in EuroBasket action, former Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko led Russia in points (20), rebounds (11) and assists (four) Wednesday during a 73-64 victory against Ukraine. Ex-Utah center Kyrylo Fesenko was limited to zero points on 0-of-1 shooting and three rebounds in just six minutes for Ukraine.
Kirilenko poured in a team-high 20 points Thursday during Russia's 65-58 win over Georgia, adding four rebounds and three steals.

The education of Enes Kanter, the Jazz's No. 1 draft pick in last June's NBA draft, continued Friday at EuroBasket.
Kanter scored five points and grabbed three rebounds in 16 minutes during Turkey's 75-68 loss to Lithuania, the host country.
In the first three games of the tournament, Kanter averages 10 points and five rebounds in 20 minutes. He is shooting 67 percent from the field.
The Turkey-Lithiania game was considered a battle between championship-caliber teams. It was close until Lithuania snapped a 67-67 by outscoring Turkey, 8-1, in the final two minutes.
Lithuania improved to 3-0 in Group A. Spain, led by Pau and Marc Gasol, is also 3-0. Turkey dropped to 2-1 but remains positioned to reach the knockout round.
Two other Jazz-connected players will compete in EuroBasket games on Saturday.
Andrei Kirilenko leads Russia, which is 2-0 in Group D, against Poland while Kyrylo Fesenko and the Ukraine (0-2) face Bulgaria.

Andrei Kirilenko scored nine points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out two assists during Russia's 79-58 victory over Belgium on Saturday.
Russia improved to 3-0 in Group D heading into Sunday's game against Bulgaria.
Meanwhile, Kyrylo Fesenko scored five points, grabbed three rebounds and even made a free throw in Ukraine's 67-56 win over Bulgaria -- its first EuroBasket victory in 10 years.
Fesenko played only 10 minutes. He scored his five points during the opening moments of the fourth quarter. His three-point play gave his team a 56-38 lead. He followed with a dunk that made it 58-40.
Ukraine, 1-2 in Group D, plays Georgia on Sunday in a game critical to both teams' knockout round hopes.
Also Sunday, Jazz rookie Enes Kanter and his teammates from Turkey will play Poland in Group A.

Enes Kanter finished with a team-high 19 points, but it wasn't enough to prevent Poland from scoring an 84-83 upset over Turkey on Sunday at EuroBasket 2011.
Kanter, who the Jazz selected with the No. 3 overall pick in last summer's NBA draft, also contributed five rebounds.
Turkey dropped to 2-2 in Group A and plays a huge game Monday against Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol and powerful Spain.
Meanwhile, Andrei Kirilenko scored 25 points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out three assists to lead undefeated Russia to an 89-77 victory over Bulgaria.
Russia (4-0) plays Slovenia on Monday for the top seed from Group D.
Also, Kyrylo Feseneko scored seven points and collected four rebounds in 14 minutes, but the Ukraine lost to Georgia, 69-53.
The Ukraine, which dropped to 1-3 in Group D, plays Belgium on Monday.
Play in the EuroBasket knockout round begins Wednesday.

After playing so well at EuroBasket 2011 on Sunday, neither Enes Kanter nor Andrei Kirilenko made major contributions on Monday, although both their national teams prevailed.
Kanter finished with two points and one rebound during Turkey's 65-57 victory over previously-undefeated Spain. Turkey improved to 3-2 in Group A while Spain, which played without NBA star Pau Gasol because of a sprained ankle, dropped to 4-1.
Kirilenko scored eight points, but he was not one the floor during the final minutes, when Russia rallied for a 65-64 victory over Slovenia in a battle between the top teams in Group D. Russia improved to 5-0 heading into the knockout round while Slovenia, which led this game until the final seconds, slipped to 4-1.
Also Monday, Kyrylo Fesenko scored two points and grabbed one rebound in three minutes of action as Ukraine defeated Belgium, 74-61, and advanced to the knockout round with a 2-3 record in Group D.

Jazz rookie center Enes Kanter's production continues to slide downward during EuroBasket 2011.
Kanter scored just four points and grabbed only two rebounds Wednesday during Turkey's 68-64 defeat to France during a second round contest in Vilnius, Lithuania.
He was 2 of 5 from the floor and played only 9 minutes, 49 seconds as Turkey relied heavily upon Chicago Bulls big man Omer Asik (10 points, 11 rebounds, 23 minutes) in the paint.
Turkey faces a Dirk Nowitzki-led Germany team Friday.

Jazz rookie center Enes Kanter's time in the EuroBasket 2011 tournament is over.
Turkey fell to Serbia 68-67 Sunday during a second-round contest in Vilnius, Lithuania. The loss eliminated Turkey from the tournament and ended the team's hope of qualifying for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
Kanter scored a co-team high 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting and grabbed five rebounds. He averaged 9.6 points and 3.9 rebounds during eight games, ranking sixth overall during the tournament in field goal percentage (59.2).
Former Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko continues to excel. He led Russia in rebounds (eight), assists (five) and steals (two) during the team's 83-67 victory against Greece on Saturday. An undefeated Russia squad will face F.Y.R. of Macedonia on Monday.

The Jazz's Jeremy Evans (http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/jazz/52587730-87/evans-ibl-jazz-league.html.csp) and Derrick Favors (http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/jazz/52610634-87/favors-jazz-nba-derrick.html.csp) have no plans to play overseas during the NBA lockout and are sticking to their offseason routines. Same for former Utah guard Earl Watson, who'll be an unrestricted free agent (UFA) when the 2011-12 season starts.
Ex-Jazz center and UFA Francisco Elson explored a few international opportunities but none came to fruition. "Just waiting like everyone else," Calvin Andrews, Elson's agent.
Former Utah center and UFA Kyrylo Fesenko is making progress while recovering from an offseason knee injury. "Simple procedure and he is feeling good," said Stu Lash, Fesenko's agent. A timetable has not been set for Fesenko's return, but he is expected to be ready when the 2011-12 season begins.

Jazz guard Raja Bell said Wednesday he is exploring the option of playing overseas during the NBA lockout. Bell confirmed a statement by his agent Herb Rudoy, who said that, "Nothing is imminent, but we are weighing some opportunities." Rudoy would not reveal the teams or countries his client might play for, and Bell conceded tit is still early in the process. However, he acknowledged that Italy, Spain and Israel would be ideal locations. Salt Lake Tribune
The veteran Jazz guard wants to sign with a good, well-run team instead of getting a paid vacation. "I have two kids, with a third on the way and a family," Bell said. "If I go over there, I'm going to work." Salt Lake Tribune
