You are much more sensible than that other guy for sure but I disagree with one part of what you said. I do agree with you that the issue of homosexuality is being pushed into the conscience of Americans to promote the acceptance of gay people. However, I don't believe this is a negative thing or something to fear.

People often talk about the effect this gay movement is having on young children; many parents are scared that this will lead to some huge spike in the gay population including their own children. To be realistic, sending the message that it is ok to be gay will not create more gay people since straight people don't just start having gay sex.

What will happen in the future is that the folks that are bisexual or closeted gays will speak up and stop hiding since they will no longer have any negative repercussions to fear. I doubt that all of the closeted and already out LGBT people together will be more than 15% of the total population.

I personally believe we have too many people on the planet to sustain our resources and the acceptance of gays will be a good thing in more ways than one. That is another discussion though.
