Been using that for the past year+. It was a bit strange at first, but I got used to it real fast, don't even notice it anymore.

Have it installed on every comp I use...and couldn't live without it. When I turn it off at night my screen just starts hurting my eyes and can't believe I hadn't been using it all along.

Only depressing thing about it is when you notice it dimming / turning red for a week in a row since you have been at your comp everyday at sundown and you think - damn I really need to get off my computer :oldlol:

For me its been only couple of months. I wish I had known about it long time ago though. Heaven for the eyes.

Yeah it really is. Supposedly also helps regulate your sleep cycle since the bright monitor simulates sunlight and thus your subconscious wants to stay awake.

Can't say it's really had an improvement in that aspect of my life, but you never know.

It's suppose to have a red-hint mimicking only slight light at night.

I have Windows 7. When it runs it'll be in the bottom taskbar. Set it to your location. then you can preview it. Basically all it does it keep track of the sunlight in your area. When it gets dark out it'll automatically give a red hue to the screen so it's easier on your eyes. Especially if you watch stuff in the dark.

haha well im going to keep using it i guess, maybe i just need to adjust to it.

looking at a red screen just feels very unnatural, if anything, it reminds me of the sun and daylight. i have a pretty big monitor so it seems a little overwhelming at first.. maybe i will get the hang of it tonight

So it's easier on your eyes during the evening? This only helps you if you use your computer at night in a room with dimmed lights? What if you work late at night in the office with the lights on?

When you set your location right click the icon in your notification bar area and select "Preview" it'll show you how it changes.

After you install it and it and it's running go to your notification icon taskbar area. Right click it. Set your location. Then also try the preview. At first it's weird. The red hue is so noticeable at night when it switches. Then after a couple minutes you don't even notice it that much.

Yea. After some time you won't notice it anymore and it will look natural.

The difference is pretty crazy. Like in a week, when you're on the pc in the evening, turn off the program just to check it. The sudden brightness will make you look away.:lol

Does thing running interfere with gaming in any way?

I wish there was some way to also automatically turn the brightness of my screen down to coincide with flux.

That said the difference is huge. I miss it when I'm behind my work PC screen in the evening.

Used it yesterday evening and had a noticeably better night's sleep, however it's Sunday which may be a factor. Either way I'm gonna keep it.

It can be easily disabled for an hour via the toolbar icon. Without that option I probably would've uninstalled it, cos I visit photo-heavy sites and use Photoshop a fair bit.

Wow, this is so great.

I've written a report all day long and whenever I use computers this long I get killer headaches. Either it's just random but I have no headache now and my eyes are not bothered by the light like they always are without the F.LUX..

Even though OP is banned I'm really grateful for his post!

Pretty much this. But I will give it a shot for a few days for my eyes to get used to the ugly red tint on my screen. See if it makes any difference... Right now it's actually making it more difficult to read text. Almost blurry.

It automatically adjusts your screen's brightness with the passage of time. Less strain on your eyes at night

Yeah dude, I'm on my lowest brightness and it still helped a lot. Got it today and seriously, it's on another level of usefulness. Once you start using it you realize how looking at your computer normally is like looking at the sun.

This thing is amazing, after 30 minutes of getting used to it, your eyes feel so much better. I can actually look at my screen without blinking like 40 times a minute. When you turn it off you see just how extreme the regular brightness is.
