Heat is such a bad match up for us and they have HCA. Celtics have been struggling since trading Perkins(regular season) and also old. It sounds like the Lakers are afraid of Heat but that's how I want it to go down. If they need to fight Miami, they'll take the challenge seriously:pimp:

Absolutly co-sign. Last years finals were to great, I don't want it to be the last chapter. Game 7 was one of the most intense games I've ever witnessed. One last clash of Lakers-Celtics.

I want the Heat or Bulls in the Finals. The Celtics are our best shot at winning another title, but the drama and headlines surrounding the other two match ups are just too much to ignore. I wanna see if Kobe still has enough left in the tank to hold off Rose or Wade/LeBron. I wanna see if Gasol, Bynum, and Odom can take advantage of two weaker front lines or if they've regressed. Give me Chicago or Miami!

That was part of the deal Seattle was at least able to keep the name and the title of their franchise. Lakers kept name and history of the franchise with that History comes the 5 titles in Minny....so Lakers as a Franchise....about to be 17 titles.

I'm not saying it's not a right, it's just not right, as in not the cool thing to do.

Boston won all of their 17 championships in Boston. The Lakers can only count 12 in Los Angeles. I think that matters.

Franchise bro....when the Lakers came over to LA the same players that played in Minny came over...like Willy Mays did for the Giants back in the day.

The Lakers kept the name and history of the team period and in doing that those 5 titles are recognized at Staples for all to see. I'm not from LA but I root for the Lakers franchise always have. Lakers win this year that 17 for our franchise history period.

I think LA's are...9 of those Boston titles came when the NBA was in it's infant stage compared to the Lakers 5. Lakers won in better decades 80's 5 , 2000's 4, and 2010's era 1 hopefully getting 2. They did it in era's with greater comp and players. So there for LA's championships...more impressive.

Nah, the Celtics have dominated the Lakers too much during their championship runs. Besides, they had the 11 in 13 years. Only the Bulls ever came remotely anywhere near that. The Lakers never put up a long enough stretch of dominance.

Boston's are much better.

No, not at all. If we win over Heat it will mean we are on finals and we will be the ones eliminate them. If they win, probably i will cheer for them in finals..it would better to lose next champion.

As for Lakers fans, i can understand the ones support Celtics to see another Lakers vs Celtics.Other than that who cares..even if heat wins they will be faced with Bulls or Hawks/Magic. Even if heat made finals (let's say lakers did too) Lakers are 2 time defending champion.

I'd prefer Boston mainly because of the Homecourt advantage we would have over them.

I despise both teams so beating either in the finals would be an incredibly satisfying experience.

Neither has a strong front court, so we should dominate on the inside but, Miami's ability to get out on the break makes them a slightly more problematic matchup.

I hope they beat the crap out of each other and do our work for us.

Yes, very serious.

The critical point is that KG is healthy (and his stats back that up) this year; that by itself neutralizes Gasol.

Then the 7'1 350 lb Shaq, 6'11" JO (who's been playing great), 7' Krtsic, wide body Davis - more than enough size to through at Bynum and Odom. No more height advantage over the 6'9" Perkins.

beating the Lakers really depends on what Shaq can give us if we make it to the Finals. I'm assuming he could give us a good 15-20 mins by that point.

We want Boston (our archriva)l to beat the hell out of the Miami Hate. I've been called heretic for this, but I really find it hard anyone would actually preffer the queer trio win. Admit it!!

Ask and you shall receive. Miami Heat don't know whats coming their way.

Kobe fans would rather see LA lose in the WCF than ever face the prospect of a playoff series against LeBron. They live their whole lives in constant fear of him. Believe me, they want no part of Kobe going up against LeBron on a stage that big.

Does it even matter? I don't care who comes out of the East, but I believe the Lakers can take down all 3, Chicago, Boston, Miami.
I think Chicago would be the perfect story though. Lakers win the title in Chicago, Phil's coaching season ends where it first began. Best ending!

:oldlol: at people generalizing all Lakers' fans because of this stupid thread.

Matter of fact, the only "Lakers' fans" that are actually scared of the Heats are in actuallity, mostly just Kobe fans.

I'm sure true Lakers' fans would love kicking Miami's ass in the finals and see these bandwagoners & insecure nutcases like Bruce Blitz, etc continue to cry to death.

Shows up late with a bang? You mean Kobe, Wade, Melo, Peirce, Allen, and Durant?

Trust me...we would love to beat LeBron in the Finals. But it is much better to see him fail even before that just like the past couple of years.

There was nothing funnier last season than LA fans, who supposedly loathe Boston, rooting for them in the ECS(Celtics/Cavs) harder than they have ever even rooted for LA. And it'll be the same this year too.

I repeat, there's nothing SCARIER for a Kobe boy than him going up against LeBron for a 7 game series. They want no part of that.

A "Kobe boy", not Lakers' fans. Because despite what you believe, there are alot of Lakers' fans who want to see Miami in the finals and whoop their ass.

And are you going to sit here and pretend that Cavs/LeBron fans weren't rooting for the Lakers to get an early exit?

Wade would pose problems for the Lakers with his quickness, but Lebron? Artest would just play him tight now, since he lost all of his athleticism and has no first step or driving ability.. right? :lol

I don't care which one we'd play.....neither has a PG who can hit shots, Boston lost Perkins, Shaq is washed up, Jermaine and KG aren't going to bang like Landry. Bosh is not going to rough up Gasol.....the divas will be fighting for the ball so they can try for the MVP........so why do I care which of these teams wins? Bulls have Rose who would light up Fish and Noah would beat Pau up....Deng's length and hustle wouldnt stop Kobe but he's no bum.
The Bulls would be the toughest matchup for the Lakers.

There's nothing the Lakers can do to stop those guys (both LBJ & Wade) in a best of 7. Just don't see it; LA matches up horribly which is the only reason I would NOT want to see them in a Finals. Boston or Chicago would be ideal (LA gets HC with Boston anyway).

Exactly!

Are these guys really caught up in this "Big-three" hype that they can't see the advantages we have over both the Celtics and the Heats?

The only person that I worry about (meaning that poses the biggest threat to L.A) on the Heats is Dywane Wade. And that is because Kobe has not shown that he can play the same defense we saw from him in 2008.

Other than that, we have a major advantage with our frontline (Chris Bosh is a *****, and I have no respect for him whatsoever. Probably the only "Nba star" I don't respect) and Miami's Pg play is not that big of a threat as well.

I know I'm going to catch a lot of heat from Laker fans (No pun intended). But honestly, I'm pretty sure Lebron & Cleveland would have beat the Lakers in both 2009 and 2010 if they made the Finals. And if Miami makes the Finals, I'm pretty sure they'd beat LA this year.
