I've seen Chicago look like that on a foggy day. Could be zoom as well, and considering it's London the plane would be flying low as it's probably taking off and landing. Kinda surprised people think it's fake. The water is actually like that in some places from overhead (glacier sediments or something), I'll see if I can find my personal pics out of windows where it looks like that.

Salt Lake City is beautiful as hell out the window. The lake on one side, mountains on the other, it looked exactly like that when I flew out of there.

I got a similar view approaching Chicago this winter, but as you say, we were on approach for landing, and you're not supposed to have phone on, so I had no camera.

Yeah, I always enjoy looking out the windows during an airplane flight.
My mom pisses me off though, she is obessessed with looking out the window, even when she is not sitting next to the window. I remember when she constantly leans over me, it gets annoying.

The only time I ever felt the urge to take a pic from a plane window was 4 years ago flying into Laguardia. It was around 8 p.m. on clear Sept. night and I was sitting on the left side of the plane as it made its approach up the East River. I've never seen NYC look more beautiful.

i'm sure i've flown (been a passenger) over a hunnert times.... not sure what my favorite view has been. but i always got a kick when the plane was flying very low, getting ready for its approach, and the homes look like dollhouses, and the terrain looks like it's from a miniatures movies set. like you could open the emergency hatch, step out, and be a giant walking amongst the human ants if you wanted to.

maybe i'll try it some time. :pimp:
