So my dad and I had dinner last night with former Bulls assistant coach Johnny Bach. 86 years old. Sharp as a nail. Definitely one of the coolest experiences. This guy

[QUOTE]Scottie Pippen? Nothing but respect for Pippen. Great teammate. Great player. He was a thug when he came into the league, but really came around and they talk regularly now. Pippen and Jordan together defensively was as devastating a duo as there will ever be. Scottie and Michael used to compete on everything. Jordan used always claim his hands were bigger, but they weren

Man, awesome stuff. Thank you for posting this ...
LOL @ MJ being jealous of Pippen's "package" down low.
And I knew it had to be something like that, or he was the man @ fukking because Pippen ALWAYS had a bad chick with him.
LMFAO @ MJ saying he secretly didn't like Barkely ("that fat fukk")
:oldlol:
Dude is utterly hilarious with the ruthless-ness
I knew about the Tiger thing. Tiger's ex-best friend said he got into banging all these women by hanging around and looking up to Jordan and Barkely.
We clearly understand now Tiger actually isn't very smart, and was SUPER reckless about things.
And Bach pretty much confirms what any knowledgable Bulls fans already know. Jordan basically molded Pippen into the player he eventually became, and that Jordan WAS the superior defender.
I wish I was friends with Jordan. Seems if you earned his trust, he was more than loyal to you. And probably fiercly protective. The thing he did for Bach was really nice.

Every story you hear about Jordan or Bird behind the scenes is some borderline hateful shit but always trying to win. Wanting it the most means something...

Always on the verge of insane. I read a story on Bird going into the lockerroom of some opponent who had a good game and elbowed him or something. Bird went in and gave him his hotel room key and wanted him to come over so they could finish it where it wouldnt get broken up.

LOL ... jesus. Same goes for Jordan. Literally took competitiveness wherever he went. Upset about Pippen's stick being bigger than his?
:oldlol:
But that's ultimately what makes these guys who they are.

Story #1 – The day before game 4 of the Bulls Suns finals with the Bulls leading the series 2-1. Michael and Charles Barkley went golfing. They played 48 holes of golf. And Michael bought Charles a $20,000 diamond earring. Johnny asked MJ, “what did you do all that for?” Michael responded, “he won’t get in my way the rest of the series, what’s $20,000 to me? Charles thinks we’re great friends. I hate that fat ****.” Jordan dropped 55 in game 4 and Barkley never touched him once.
He should've taken the hard foul. :banghead:

Gotta love Jordan's epic thrash talking. I hope LeBron says something similar to to JJ Barea if the opportunity arises.
There was an article this year in a recent ESPN magazine, and it asked random NBA'ers about whose the best trash talker. Apparently LeBron James isn't very good at it.
It also went onto say the players from the Celtics were very good at it, KG and Rondo specifically. One of the reason they got into team's heads. They went onto say maybe LeBron has to improve in that area (seriously) to get over that hurdle against the Celtics.
I only imagine the epic and cutting trash talk from Jordan, Bird and others only enhanced their mystique and legend on the court.
People would literally be shook facing them. And I mean if you can talk epic sh1t and then go back it up. How disheartening is that?
:oldlol:
I wonder what MJ used to tell Reggie Miller to rile him up countless times.
Reggie was a great trash talker in his own right.
People used to get SO ANNOYED with him. His mouth actually got himself into a fight with MJ once. MJ shoved his whole face when they were tangled.

I'm surprised Mugsey got so shook by that trash talk, you'd think plenty of other guys called him a midget before too, lol.

Reminds me of the Paul Pierce passage in Bill Simmon's book, in which his coach warned him not to talk to a then retired MJ.

1. i don't think mj hated barkley. But I dont think jordan respected barkley as much as barkley did the other way around.
2. Jordan used to say about reggie miller: playing with reggie miller is like chicken-fighting with a woman.
The only athlete apart from jordan ever who's had the combination of wit and physical athleticism to back it up was Muhammad Ali. I wonder what would be like if these two in their primes were sitting in casino talking trash.

One thing that makes me think this is made up:
Rice and Mourning never played together, they were traded for each other in '95

You kind of have to expect that, when one person tells another person a bunch of stories, and then that other person writes what was told from memory.
Tell, a story to somebody, then have that person repeat it to another, and then that person to another person, and so on, by like the tenth person, it's going to be significantly different.

yeah. exactly. probably 80% of those stories are just made up
and **** that BS about Jordan "fake-friending" Barkley..
First of all, MJ didn't need to do that.. they were better than the Suns and second.. he could be an A-Hole on the court but I don't think he could be like that off the court and pull that kind that shyt.

MJ's competitive is so furious, that's really what separate him from others

Kobe is really the only guy in the modern era who can come even close to the same stratosphere as MJ on sheer will, drive, and competitiveness but what separates Michael from everyone else is that he's absolutely a psychopath when it comes to competition and winning.
If he had to murder someone in cold blood to win at something, he would do it without batting an eye.
