Who says basketball isn't an international game?

Me. Thompson, Irving and Joseph were BASICALLY American. Enes Kanter wanted to be American but got told no.

I think like 40 some American players were taken.

I see Irving as an American who was born overseas. Similar ways to Army babies but in Irving's case his father was playing ball in Australia.

Thompson and Joseph basically American? :oldlol:

So playing college ball makes you an American automatically?

They left their home country to play basketball here because they know basketball in their country sucks dick. I'm just saying that basketball is America's sport and it's not even close to being a "world" sport. We dominate, the end.

You're missing the point...no one's saying anyone is better than the US at basketball. It was meant to point out how NBA level players are being produced at all parts of the world now due to the global influence of basketball.

Not a world sport? People are balling all over the world. China has so many players in their leagues you wouldn't believe.

People through national federations are proud that we can finally produce equal level talent, it affects a lot of people and don't underestimate that. It's a beautiful thing and it's good for the overall improvement of the sport.

Irving is no more Australian than my father is Japanese (born on Air Force base).

All others are valid, though.

Sure USA dominates basketball, but I think basketball is the sport played by the most peaple on the planet, so yes it's international. And it's great that so many player are coming from abroad to the NBA, makes the game more entertaining.

I would like to make a new thread on european draft prospects, but I can't make a new thread (don't know why).

In France Fournier looks good (and we have a lot of hope in him cause he's just different from our usual prospects, he's not that athletic but very creative). The odds are he's gonna be drafter, late in the first round or early second I guess.

We also have Rudy Gobert, who will definitely get drafted. Legit 7-footer (he's listed as 6-10 or 6-11 on some websites but I think he's definitely 7-0), huge wingspan, a bit skinny but his body looks like he can add some weight easily... I'm not sure he's gonna be a starting center in the NBA but there's no way every team passes on his size and potential in the draft.
