Black guys who rock mini-fro's... smh why?

I am just at a lost for words. I was at the mall with my wife the other day. About 4 older teenaged black guys in a group all had mini fro's. They looked so dirty, it wasn't even kept neatly like Bernie Mac's, it was all nappy and dirty looking. My wife agrees with me. Black guys talk to me. Why would you style your hair like this

Not everybody can pull it off. I have mini-fro and everybody said I look good with my mini-fro than taper, even I look good with taper but usually I get taper-fro which is much better.

Kobe's hair just work because of his line-up.
