Just got finished on GOTY Borderlands (Got it dirt cheap on the Steam sale). Enjoyed it quite a bit, although the story is paper thin. Still, I had enough fun with it that I will definitely look into getting this when it comes out.

I'm playing through Borderlands for the first time right now. Bought it during the Steam summer sale. Some of my impressions:

+ Awesome art-style and visuals. The entire presentation is just great.
+ It makes XP grinding fun.
+ Good shooting/power mechanics.

- Awful awful friggin awful enemy AI. This needs to be fixed. I have some enemies shooting "at me" when I'm in a building and they are behind another wall.
- The quests are totally repetitive but I can sorta see why. This game is far more focused on action than storytelling. The quests themselves aren't important, the XP is.

It definitely gets me interested in the sequel.

Have you got to any of the dlc yet? I found that to be a lot better then the main campaign, minus Mad Moxxi.

I think all the DLC was part of the purchase. Haven't really gotten to it yet though.

I got two buddies I play left 4 dead 2 with alot that are gonna get it. They liked Borderlands 1. I never played it. I might get this.

Well you get the benefit of keyboard and mouse controls, but besides that it's the same game. I don't think it's any cheaper, I mainly just went that route because that's what my friend went with.

I pushed through the first one and completed it within a week. It was fun, and I liked the presentation, but the expansions couldn't recapture the high level of enjoyment I got out of the original. I'll probably give it a shot, once Steam puts it on sale for $40 sometime in the next month.

Preordered my xbox 360 copy from microsoft. I was gonna buy it from gamestop aftrr school, but the microsoft preorder was too good to pass up. The focus for multi-player is mainly co-op. I haven't got real into it yet, but I think the only versus are duels in game.

So far I'm liking it, I feel like they've done a good job of trying to fix some of the issues with the first one. Really like the gun variety so far, they look and feel a lot better in this one.

I just find the whole loot based aspect of it to be extremely addicting. The process of leveling and constantly finding new gear does a good job of keeping the game interesting. The game can be pretty funny at times too, and co-op is really good.

Gearbox did a really good job with DLC on the last game too, so I'm hoping they'll continue that trend.

Turret doing all the work for me. I don't even bother half the time. I just throw the turret into the middle and start looting chests etc. while it does all the work for me. Saves time.
