Amongst my classmates, it seemed to be the religious ones who were most likely to tie the knot at an early age (20-22). At age 27, I'm almost used to everyone getting married now.

And sadly, they still don't get paid enough. The average salary is like $38,000 a year for someone deployed. It's going to vary of course for man to man, but that's pretty much the average overall.

My best friend from HS, 21 now, got married when he was 20 to his 18-19 year old girlfriend. They had been together 3 years prior, but still.

He is also in the military, currently deployed.

Good point. I think this and the fact that these guys get lonely overseas are big factors. I wouldn't want to be deployed to a war zone for a year and not come home to a woman.

I think part of it is also that they don't see each other nearly as often as normal couples so they don't get tired of each other and split. :oldlol:

I think there were about 300 people at my school, I grew up in a small cowtown though. Can't remember exactly how big my graduating class was but it was around 50. I knew a few schools in the area that were smaller then that though.

Getting married is one thing, it's the people having kids now that make me feel old.

I think I knew 7 people in my class who got married/engaged.

This Cambodian girl got married to some Cambodian dude. They weren't very Americanized so it was definitely a cultural thing.

Then, there were these Mormon twins. They got married right after high school. One of the girls only knew the guy for two weeks.

A student in my class just recently got married to one of the high school teachers.

Two of my friends got married after knocking each other up.

Another one of my friends got engaged to his girlfriend but then, she cheated on him right before they married. She was a sweet, nice girl too. After the break off though, she ended up going through a sex binge phase and then, a lesbian phase.
