Smh. Wonder if his life would have turned out differently if he had stuck with the lakers. Or, does this kind of foolery catch up with certain people regardless.

ATLANTA -- An arrest warrant has been issued for former Georgia Tech star basketball player Javaris Crittenton in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Jullian Jones, Atlanta police said.
The shooting happened shortly before 10 p.m. Aug. 19 in the 2900 block of Macon Drive in southwest Atlanta.
Investigators said Jones was walking with others when she was shot. She later died.
Channel 2's Ryan Young learned about the latest developments early Friday.
Police said they don't believe Jones was the intended victim.
Police said the motive appears to be retaliation for a robbery that occurred in April in which Crittendon was a victim.
Crittendon is an NBA player who most recently played with the Washington Wizards.

Twist to the story. Crittenton say's he's innocent, turning himself in.
I've been following this closely. Been a fan of his game since high school and surprised he hasn't been able to stick. 6'5" pg with lots of skills...not a good shooter though :(

What a waste of talent, how stupid is this guy anyway? The guy already was already a millionaire and he he is only 23 years old and instead of playing pro basketball he's now heading to play jail basketball..
And seriously, he's a former NBA player, why the hell is he trying hide anyway? It's kinda obvious that a pro athlete will get recognized sooner or later..

Not really. Most people could not identify which player is Javaris Crittention in a lineup of the Charlotte Bobcats starting 5.
So I highly doubt anyone outside of someone who has taken note of this news story and recognizes him on some Americas Most Wanted type of shit will identify him. He could probably go to Compton or Inglewood and hide out for months as long as he doesnt come in contact with law enforcement.
Yes, its pretty sad how his career & now life seemingly has turned out. Even if he is found innocent due to the case being mishandled, a lack of witnesses, or someone else takes the fall for him there is no doubt he'll never be back in the NBA.
I was rooting for him to get back in the NBA after seeing he had worked out with some teams, might even had been the Knicks. Didnt have the IQ for the PG position, and he didnt have much scoring ability.
I still remember him being compared to Steve Francis.
Well, that didnt turn out too well.

Well someone is going to have to connect him to the shooting.
The "good" part about this is that the only witnesses are alleged criminals who robbed him. They still have to piece together that it was him, his gun used, & he was in the getaway car.
Tyreke Evans was the getaway driver in a homicide and he never faced any charges.

Javaris Crittenton attended Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy, where as a high school sophomore he played alongside Dwight Howard. Crittenton and Howard led Southwest Atlanta to the GHSA class A state championship that season. Howard would later go on to be the first overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft after turning professional directly out of high school. As a junior Crittenton averaged 28.4 points, 7.5 assists, and 8.2 rebounds. He led Southwest Atlanta to the GHSA class A state final again where they lost, finishing the season as the runner-up.As a senior Crittenton averaged 29 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds and led Southwest Atlanta to the GHSA class A state championship. Following the season he was named a McDonald's All American. He was also named Mr. Georgia Basketball. Crittenton was an exceptional student in high school who had a 3.5 GPA and was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and the Senior Beta Club. After being courted by several colleges Crittenton ultimately chose local Georgia Tech, in part to allow his mother and little sister to be able to attend his games.
Really amazing to me that a guy with such a background would turn into a thug once he gets to the NBA.
Almost eeirly similar to Michael Ray Richardson or Josh Hamilton who each were good kids who got off track as soon as they became professionals with the benefits of fame, money, & a lack of parental discipline.

the real crime is that it says that he's 6'5...
in all seriousness tho, if he did do it he's a terrible person, there must be something else he did to warrant a "armed and dangerous" designation and such a pursuit from authorities. he ruined all chances of beating the case by not turning himself in

i wonder what the significance of him turning himself in in the state of California is vs. the state of Georgia. According to reports he traveled to California after learning he was being charged. Anyways, I'm glad to hear he turned himself in, if he's innocent this is the only way he'll get a fair trial

More on the story. Apparently, the cops suspect the murder was retaliation for Crittenton getting robbed some months ago.
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/6910071/former-nba-player-javaris-crittenton-was-retaliating-april-robbery-report-says
My favourite part of the article is this:
Crittenton told police he and a friend were leaving a barbershop around 10:50 p.m. April 21 when two teenagers surprised them as they returned to their car, according to a police report released to The Associated Press.
Where in the world are barbershops open at 11pm? My barber closes at 5pm.
Innocent until proven guilty. But out of all the people to point the finger too. Why Crittenton? Were the people who were shot at have anything to do with Crittenton being robbed so they or someone assumed it had to be him? Did they see who did the shooting? You dont just randomly happen to be fingered in a murder case and its a coincident you flee town to Cali. Possible, but its fishy as hell. Does Crittenton own a vehicle that was identified in the case?
1. He is completely innocent and wrongfully accused
2. He had something to do with the shooting be he set it up or was the driver
3. He did the shooting in retaliation because he saw the suspects who robbed him
Lets hope its #1, but you cant be surprised if people think he was involved. Same guy who pulled out a gun in the lockeroom.

Glad this lunatic is currently in Jail. Arenas told a story that he made a joke about burning the car of Javaris, and helping him out of the car after Mr Clitoris lost a card game to Javalee Mcgee. This bum threatened to shot all of the Wizards players during that time. That's why Agent Zero brought his guns. Javaris brought his Pistol. Hopefully he got his @$$ kick in Jail every day for those murder charges.
