I hope Dinamo Zagreb can at least finish 3rd.
Real Madrid is hands down the strongest team in the group but I think they can play against Lyon and Ajax and battle for that 3rd place, maybe even for the 2nd.

I wouldn't consider that a miracle.
Both Lyon and Ajax aren't so strong.
3-4 years ago Dinamo eliminated Ajax from Uefa cup (Europa league).

I don't say that they are a better team because they aren't but neither Lyon or Ajax are unbeatable.

Yup. Players that Ajax squad has in common with this Ajax squad? 1, Van der Wiel, who was 19 at the time.

They eliminated Ajax with a 0-1 loss and a 3-2 win and it was a massive upset. The chances of this happening over 6 CL games? Not likely, pretty much miraculous.

I didn't watch the beginning of the match, but good god, it's sad to see what Milan has come to. I know I've said that every year for the last couple of seasons, but it's just appaling. 10 men behind the ball all game, and the team is full of old people and mediocre players. I agree that they are playing awful tonight.
Right after Pato's goal, they started defending just outside the box.
They'll lose by two if they go on like this.

Anyways, Milan has been good last year and they did rebuild already. Only 1-2 players in the starting 11 are gfrom the UCL winning team of 2007 + Allegri is a good coach, not a difensive one.
That's why I am surprised at them being so ridiculously passive tonight.

Well I don't much about Allegri so I can't really say about that. I hope they don't usually play like this, because Milan is one of my favorite teams and I wouldn't want them to play this brand of football regularly.

That's right, Barcelona is deeper this season. Although Iniesta >> Fabregas and Thiago, I'm afraid it will have little impact the way Fabregas is playing, especially now that Puyol is back and so is Pique.

Anything can happen in basketball game too.
There is much more drama in basketball (buzzerbeaters, game winners,comebacks...) but in the end you can't win if you were clearly the worse team.
In football you can win even if your opponent was 34328468364 times better than you and tonight's game showed that.

Just get Granero in there since Dinamo is harmless, and put Cristiano on the right and Di Maria on the left. It's not that hard to see. All in all, Real still had 4 clear chances. On a different note, that Kelava guy is a hell of a goalkeeper, could've easily been 0-4 or 0-5 if not for his saves. Also the worst reffereeing I've seen in a while. Real Madrid are a bunch of *******.
This was supposed to be an easy task.
For the last 15-20 minutes they were defending and saving time illegally (Pepe got a yellow card,Ronaldo should have got one too...).
So much about 5-0 or something like that like many posters were saying.

It is a huge disappointment, but don't even talk illegal defense, because Leko should've been sent off more than once. Also Marcelo got a second yellow for diving, but then just a moment later some Dinamo player dove inside Madrid's box and somehow that wasn't a yellow. The referee was god awful and I hope he never gets to officiate a CL again.
With that said, Dinamo did a good job in the last 15 minutes, but you'll have to agree they would've gotten blown out if Kelava hadn't been on god mode.

Marcelo did that at least 1 time before he got the second yellow. I remember him falling in the box and asking for a foul at least once before he was sent off.
Real was better but with little luck Dinamo could have scored a goal and go home undefeated.

Thanks.
I can also see them upseting someone in Zagreb but I don't think they can win away. I think that even a draw outside of Zagreb is a big success.

I think they will lose at least 2-0 in Madrid,if not more.

He is an elite scorer so everyone should expect him to score. Look at his 2 goals against City, both were via great positioning which City didn't defend properly. That's why Hart went crazy after the second goal, Gomez knows exactly where to go to score.

He just has a nose for the ball. He's not going to dribble through entire defenses like Messi, but he will be in the right place at the right time to score. It's like a really good rebounder in the NBA, you just know where the ball is going to end up.

Yeh he's bringing up a completely seperate argument to distract from the point I'm making that the player he keeps calling a scrub scores just as many goals as his beloved hero who many call the best in the world.

You people keep bringing up a different subject like technique. But again face reality people, it doesn't matter if he has no technique or touch, he has the same scoring record as the two best players in the world, is Inzaghi a scrub too? Dude forwards and strikers are different things. Fowards play deeper and are more involved in creating offense. And out and out striker is just focused on getting the ball and scoring. Sometimes the striker is called a center forward, but it's just a blurring of names at times.

Much like being a PF in the NBA. Some PFs play very much inside and some hang out more at the perimeter creating the offense. Some centers like Duncan call themselves PFs, but whatever.

Messi certainly isn't an out and out striker. He's a forward.

Diego Alves has been like these pretty much for the last three seasons. He's an extremely talented goalkeeper who will shortcircuit every once in a while and cost you a stupid goal. Great player nonetheless.

that was the best goalkeeping performance i've ever seen. hands down.

and the refs steal another game from chelsea at the champions league. its getting a bit too easy to spot these days. they ought to lay off it for a while.

chelsea had claim to a handful of penalties and what do you know, valencia get the first one they even had a claim to. absolute disgrace.
Even when the refs do their best to f*ck us all they can ever get the opposing team is a tie. If I was Abromovic I would get my Eastern Promises homies to send out a hit on Blatter and Platini and all of those clowns.

Early prediction here is Bayern to get to the final, they are just too talented and deep everywhere now that they have Neur. Ribery in the form of his life, Robben might return as well, hopefully Chelsea will be there playing them in the final in Munich but otherwise Bayern is my early pick

Since we're on the topic of blaming refs, no doubt did the refs help out Bayern yesterday. Early in the game, Silva deserved a penalty and there was 1 or 2 other instances where there were missed penalty calls. Not complaining though, just saying.

Some good saves, but two of the finishes were plain out terrible strikes by Torres(volley) and Ramires.

the torres volley was fine. great first touch, spin and shot off the volley. agreed for the ramires strike. still it takes an amazing save and great position from a goalkeeper to even stop a bad strike one on one.

the broadcast i was watching called it the greatest 5 minutes of keeping ever seen in the champions league. i tend to agree.
i watched the game you are talking about as well, and its not comparable.

What i don't get is stoppage time in some of these games goes forever. When Man U has the ball, you can leave and go have dinner and come back and they'll still be playing.

But Chelsea gets the ball, 1 second after it would end if actually played to the time, it ends. While they are setting up.

i mean wtf.

I always apply my wishful thinking when it comes to Mourinho, you know that :D

Too bad O Pernambucano (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8CDtCR_4n0) is not there any more, sigh

Seriously, Juninho made the most unreal goals off free kicks I've ever seen. They still have Michel Bastos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sxQKS7_o_0&feature=related), who is no slouch at free kick shooting himself, though.

I have a great feeling that Man City will win 2-0 or more. Dzeko will be on the scoresheet and Silva (Aguero assist).

Fvck it, I'll be ballsy and say 3-0.

Dzeko
Silva (Aguero assist)
Dzeko (Silva assist)

I know I'm a Dzeko homer but he's been on fire again (scored in both international games, including a beauty vs France) and he's been ripping it up in practice. :pimp:

Wankchester continues to struggle, struggling to win against a shitty Romanian team not even playing in their own stadium, in a stadium holding more wankchester fans than Otilu fans. Proving my theory right once again they peaked too early.

Chelsea about to destroy Genk, actually went to the Bridge earlier today, was singing Blue is the Color to a field of idiot Belgians telling them they stole our colors, they get pissed and do nothing heheheh.

Torres with a double is my prediction and we will win by an emphatic 4 goals. Or even better I'd like a see a 4-4-2 with Torres and Lukaku starting, seeing as Lukaku already has experience dominating against shitty Belgian clubs anyways

Nick Young
10-19-2011, 03:05 PM
shit is just too easy. TOOO easy. 2-0 after 18 mins. Champions of Belgium the latest team to be destroyed under the boys of the great Villas-Boas. Oh yeah Torres seems returned to top form, continuing his goal scoring streak. The world is f*cked if Torres stays healthy and in clinical form he has been showing, we are just too talented and stacked now, Essien our best midfielder HASN'T EVEN PLAYED A SINGLE MINUTE:roll:

And we'll have him back by the knockout stages.
It's going to be a blue year people. DEAL WITH IT

I believe the Dinamo goalkeeper wore orange, that would be one of the outfield Dinamo players.

Even so, I know UEFA are on alert about the result, understandably so.
