dwyane wade is his only chance to win a championship. They only have next year and i dont believe they will win. Without wade, lebron being the sole leader of a team will never win a championship.

He also choked in the conference finals last season. 23.4 ppg on 35 FG%.

I wish the NBA lockout is officially over. I am really disappointed on LeBron's performance in the NBA Finals. I gave the Mavericks some credits because they were the hungrier team, But next season the Heat, LeBron and Wade are going to be more motivated.
I hope Stern will allow them to play some physical defense on their opponents.

Thats a BS excuse. If a player like Lebron James needs extra motivation to play better in the finals then that is sad. He bounced on Cleveland, didnt make it to the finals the previous 2 years with the best record, and had critics up his ass all year long. Why in the world would he need more motivation?
Plain and simple, Mavs were the better team. Had nothing to do with lack of motivation from Wade and Lebron. Lebron will need to show up in the big games if he is going to shut critics up.

2009: He's getting all kind of hate for not shaking Dwight's hand and confiscating tapes. Next year he's coming back with a vengeance because, like he said, he's a winner! He will be extra motivated.
2010: He's super pissed off. People say he quit against the Celtics and ran off to play sidekick. He's taking mental notes and all the hate he got this summer is fueling him like never before. LeBron with a do or die mentality is super scary.
2011: blah blah blah same bullshit.

You got alot of cojones, i give you that. To be so certain about such a evil statement so early in Lebrons career you would at least had to see Lebron first fail over and over again with amplified help around him, he has failed yes, but not with "bountiful" help required to really prevail. So what could you possibly base that ridicilous declaration on? This one Finals loss?
Its only now he has established abundant help and he did get very close, with the consideration of this being an entirely new team, role for him and most of those players in that team, they did plentiful. Next season, i would expect him and his teammates to be much more appropriate with the new roles, offense and chemistry, this process will be much more complete. Despite this, they would have probably won it if he played up to his standards in the Finals anyways, what makes you think he will put up those horrific numbers in the Finals again when you deep down inside know that if that series was replayed he would most likely play much better?
Its highly likely the Miami Heat will win a championship next season, i am not afraid to say that.
One more thing, he is only 26 for the love of god, i bet if the Internet and ISH existed back in the 80's you would make these threads about Michael Jordan aswell considering he didnt win a Finals series until he was 28.
Infact, here is the age of the typical top 10 players of all time when they won their first championships being "the man" of theirs teams.
Oscar Robertson won his first and only championship when he was 33 years old and he was not really "the man" of that team.
Wilt Chamberlain won his first championship when he was 31 years old.
Michael Jordan won his first championship when he was 28 years old.
Shaquille Oneal won his first championship when he was 28 years old.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar won his first championship when he was 24 years old.
Kobe Bryant won his first "the man" championship when he was 30-31 years old.
Magic Johnson won his first "the man" championship when he was 28 years old, thats when at least nobody doubted him being "the man" of that team, previous championships Kareem was "the man" and then it was a 1A / 1B situation.
Bill Russell won his first "the man" championship when he was 22-23 years old.
Tim Duncan won his first "the man" championship when he was 22-23 years old.
Larry Bird won his first championship when he was 24-25 years old.
So out of all the top 10 players of all time, only 4 were younger and 6 were older than Lebron when they officially led a team to a championship.
My point with this is, calm down, its still to early to hoist up such wild manifestos.

Lebron is only 26 years old...he has the chance to win many titles and I think he has a legit chance at winning 2-3 in a row starting now. Him, Wade and Bosh could be starting something speical here if they add to their roster in certain areas.
I'm not afraid to say that either, It's tough to see anything but a Heat championship next season.

And who said to look for validation? So there's no middle ground between seeking validation and just posting crap? The people who enjoy your posts are the trolls. I'm not telling you that says who you are as a person, but it sure as hell shows the quality of your posts. Pretty much that they're troll material.
And you just said "he may win." Pretty much all I was looking for. My life will not change one bit whether LeBron wins or not, nor do I really care that much if he does. The basketball argument here isn't the issue. The issue is when people say stupid things like "___ will NEVER happen" as if they can predict the future. Fact of the matter is making almost any statement like that is retarded because no one knows for sure what will happen. Ergo threads such as "A Dirk led team will never win" or "Kobe will never win without Shaq" or any other "never" threads. My issue isn't with what people say about LeBron. I don't know him nor do I care one but about him personally (or any other NBA player). My issue is with blatant stupidity, because stupidity is one of my pet peeves.

Your post was about excuses LeBron's fans make for him when he loses every year. That with your history of trolling about LeBron and claiming he can't win was enough to get me to ask the question. Was it that much of a stretch? You say LeBron hasn't won in previous years and his fans will never learn. That pretty much clearly implies you don't think he can't win in the future, or else why would his fans never learn? You're saying he's never going to have the motivation. Isn't motivation required for winning? Therefore if you don't believe he's never going to have the motivation, then you believe he's also never going to win as the team leader. Unless of course you think he can win as the team leader without being motivated...
My question was completely within the bounds of the post I quoted.
And did I give a timeline on when I figured out you were trolling? I just said you are. Where the hell did the time thing come in my post? Making up stuff?

Your post was about excuses LeBron's fans make for him when he loses every year.

I didn't even mention excuses for his losses.
Except that the excuses are about the motivation, which would be a preceding factor to winning, so when you imply he'll never be motivated, you're also ultimately saying he'll never win.
When did I say he will never have the motivation? I didn't. You just put words in my mouth and then run along with more of your moronic logic. "you said this (which I didn't) so it means that and that too..." And you say stupidity is your pet peeve? :facepalm
You did clearly imply that you think he won't ever have the motivation though. What the hell does "his fans never learn" mean then? There are two possibilities you meant by that. Either they won't learn because
a) his motivation will never be strong enough to win (in which case he doesn't win)
b) his motivation isn't a related factor to winning (in which case you're implying he won't win regardless of motivation)
Both of those possibilities imply that he won't be winning, and because his fans eventually expect him to, they haven't learned from the past.
Clear enough?

Except it's not twisting when it's right there. If I say
"LeBron fans keep thinking he's going to win, and he hasn't won in the past. His fans never learn"
Does that mean
a) I think he's going to win a championship
or b) I don't think he's going to win a championship
You're right, that's such a far reach...
And I agree that motivation had nothing to do with it. Actually, no one has even said anything about motivation being a factor this year. Everyone has said he's played like crap (including myself) except for Pauk, and he should be ignored as much as Alphwolf.

Let's take a look at Lebron 2012's playoff run again.
Facts:
1) Teammates
He has a top 2 SG who is capable of dropping 30/6/6 on ANY given night. He has proven this by several games in the pacer series and finals.
He also has a top 5 PF who is capable of dropping 20points/10 rebounds any night. During the finals it was Bosh who hustled for the most important plays and rebounds.
Just because these 2 guys didn't put up their numbers like when they lead their own team, doesn't mean they CAN'T. They CAN, and WILL, any time they sense lebron choking. They just have to do it for a few mins each game, and it will have seem like Lebron did it all.
2) His competition is crap. (No disrespect)
Knicks? With how many people injured?
Pacers? There's not even a star that can lead this team. Yet they even lead the Heat when Bosh was out
Boston? Best wing defender injured, Ray injured, 2 of the biggest stars of the team are old. Yet they still took Heat to 7 games
Thunder? Great team, but 1st time to finals, and what was their average age?
Best competition in the east before playoffs started? Bulls with Rose. However he was injured, fortunate to Lebron.
Another injured top 5 player? Dwight. Would have been scary as the center is Heat's weakest point.
So ugh.. weak competition, great teammates in their prime, and the heat still needed so many games

People forget how many losers really believed "Lebron would never win a title" after 2011. With each title, an excuse was lined up after predicting he wouldn't win and then predicting he wouldn't win again only for the process to repeat itself.

NBA.com: Lebron didn't take any contested jumpers in 2019 or 2020 seasons

^^^ LeDefer took 12 contested jumpers for the entire 2019 and 2020 seasons... :yaohappy:.....
So lebron avoids contested jumpers, which means he can't shoot well at high volume.. This matters because his inability to shoot well at high volume prevents him from carrying loads, aka winning with "true" 2nd options that produce far less like Klay, Jason Terry or Pippen - instead he needs a 1b (someone capable of outscoring him for a playoff run like 11' Wade, 16' Kyrie or 20' AD).. to summarize, he can't win a ring with a true 2nd option because he shoots poorly at the high volume needed of 1-man jobs (can't attempt or convert contested jumpers)
3ball
01-23-2021, 04:37 PM
.
Final Thread Cliffs (2011-2021)
Lebron was a 1-trick pony before the "decision", with only 1 Finals run like Iverson, Dwight and Kidd.
Then he teamed up with the best players in the league, which elevated him to champion - these guys were great before joining lebron, and none improved statistically alongside him (no one grew alongside him).. So he didn't elevate them or "make them better" - he simply teamed up with them (stacked the deck).
It's sheer irony - instead of staying in Cleveland for 2011, he bolted and was bitten by karma when his super-team collusion fell to an organic, 1-star team.
And it's a skill deficit that FORCES him to team-hop.. His ball-dominance imposes spot-up roles that stall young players, thereby needing ready-made stars to win (team-hopping, talent-based winning). Talent-based winning loses to organic ball movement, so lebron has a losing record against Spurs, Mavs, and Warriors.
In addition to preventing development with ball-dominance, he can't win a ring with a true 2nd option (he needs a 1b) because he can't attempt or convert contested jumpers, and therefore shoots poorly at the high volume needed of 1-man jobs... So he can't win with a "true" 2nd option like Klay, Jason Terry, or Pippen that produce far less - he needs a 1b that can outscore him for a playoff run (11' Wade.. 16' Kyrie.. 20' AD).. again, lebron can't win a ring with a true 2nd option (he needs a 1b) because he shoots poorly at the high volume needed of 1-man jobs (can't attempt or convert contested jumpers - see previous post for stats on lebron avoiding contested jumpers).
Rooting for lebron is boring now. He's too good.
We already know he's top-2 GOAT level.

Your post proves nothing to anyone that can watch a basketball game objectively. The Lakers were a dumpster fire that could be seen from outer space after 2010 until this past season. 2018-19 was riddled by injuries and they didn't really have a solid option to help LBJ (like most teams that win a chip have), so they were not going far anyway. That changed in the simmer of 2019 when they acquired AD. The Lakers did a remarkable job of filling out the rest of the roster with essentially role players on a very slim budget.
Part of LBJ's game has become about making the rest of the team successful (kind of like Magic did) and that doesn't always show up in the stats. You just have to know the game a little and sit back and watch.
I could just easily slight AD by saying that we all know what Davis has done without LBJ: Nothing, which also doesn't prove anything.
TheGoatest

Your post proves nothing to anyone that can watch a basketball game objectively.
It also conveniently ignores the fact that the New Orleans Pelicans with Anthony Davis in 2018-19 were worse than the Lakers:
Pelicans in 2018-19: 33-49
Pelicans in the 56 games Davis played with them that season: 25-31
Lakers in 2018-19: 37-45
Lakers in the 55 games LeBron played with them that season: 28-27
The only difference is that the Lakers were comfortably in the playoff seeding before LeBron suffered his groin injury, whereas the Pelicans were out of the playoffs when Davis really started missing games.

I have a friend who doesn't follow basketball at all. He remembers watching some games in the 2011 finals with me, and me explaining the Decision, and that LeBron has no rings. Today LeBron came up in conversation, and his first reaction was: "Isn't he the guy with no rings?", and I had to explain a decade of basketball history to him. This thread reminded me of that.

dwyane wade is his only chance to win a championship. They only have next year and i dont believe they will win. Without wade, lebron being the sole leader of a team will never win a championship.

its bumped after 10 years and a lebron lead team still doesn't have a clean championship to speak of
2012 - colluded big 3, lockout, shortened season, rigged Boston series
2013 - colluded big 4, legacy saving bail out shot by Ray Allen
2016 - colluded big 3, legacy saving bail out shot by kyrie Irving, draymond Green suspension
2020 - anthony davis theft collusion through clutch sports agency , covid lockout shortened season, 5 month break, no travel, no fans, bubble buddy Disney covid ring with Durant and kyrie both opting out healthy
without an inordinate number of all time rigging and flukes lebron has zero rings still
He's only led a team 4 times. Second most all time

And Rose will never win an NBA Championship, and he will never be voted again in the All NBA First Team. CP3 or Deron Williams are going to claim his spot.
He also choked in the conference finals last season. 23.4 ppg on 35 FG%. always knew that guy was made of glass.

The worst that anyone ever played in a playoff series is 35% and 6 TO's per game, and Lebron did this twice in 07' Finals and 08' ECSF... Meanwhile, 22-year old Kobe and Amare destroyed the Spurs in 01' and 05', respectively - certainly Kobe was better at 22 than Lebron
