regardless of part of the postseason it was, you cannot deny how good he was in this series. Keep in Mind Lebron James was just 21 years at the time, battling against one of the league best scorer.

Honestly, the most memorable part of this series for me was when Lebron walked up to Arenas who was an 82% ft shooter with a few seconds left and told him something like, "If you miss this ft you're going to lose this game." Arenas proceeds to miss the ft.

Idk why, but this is probably my favorite NBA season ever... Dirk finally getting past spurs, Kobe and AI dropping huge amounts of points on everyone, Lebron and Gil going at it in the playoffs, Wade taking over in the finals.... it was very entertaining throughout.

The funny thing look back at this series, I was actually rooting for Washington. I actually liked Agent Zero more than lebron at the time and he was going off in this series, it wasnt for the travel on lebron, they might have won this series.

good memories.

And as the others said, it was against 42-40 Wizards. :oldlol:

Yessir, I don't know if it was my favorite season ever, but it was still a lot of fun. I'm not sure if I had a horse in that Cleveland/Washington series. I was a fan of LeBron and Gilbert. I feel like I would have been rooting for Washington because I'd have wanted an easier road for my Pistons, but I think I was cool with either opponent, just because I knew (or thought I knew) the Pistons were ridiculously awesome regardless of their opposition.

Regarding LeBron in that Washington series, spectacular statistics. It was a fun series. I say this a lot, but I miss Cleveland LeBron. It was a lot more fun to watch him carry teams than watching him support stacked overdogs.

It was a great season for Lebron who finished 2nd in MVP voting to Steve Nash. I think he should have won the MVP Award during that season because the Cavs won 50 games while the Suns won 54 games.

Great duel between Prime Arenas and Lebron. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsCA9lZNlpY

A remarkable entrance into the playoffs for a top 5-10 player of all time. I watched that series and you could tell that LBJ would be doing great things for the rest of his career.

On a side note, why do these posts have to turn into tear down posts? Regardless of what happened in the series, the traveling, etc, it doesn't take away from the fact that at such a young age, LeBron put on a memorable performance that will remain in the history books for all time.

How many players can say they did what he did at that age?

It really is that easy. I think that's the main reason why Kobe and Jordan fans feel so insecure. LeBron passed them up in every stat imaginable. Its too easy these days.

6911 is an easy bomb drop. They bring up fake reasons as to why LeBron has more points (when this was supposed to be the category where Kobe/MJ excelled) but even in the one category where they were supposed to do more...they didnt. Less game winners too. Just too easy these days.

Are we talking defense teams? You're wrong again bucko. In 2006 Kobe faced the Suns (15th ranked defense) and in 2007 Suns (13th ranked) defense and he never averaged 36 on them.

It's also harder to face weaker teams when you don't get good seedings...couldn't get good seeding with Shaq. Make sense?

Kobe playoff seeds:

2005 = MISS
2006 = 7
2007 = 7
2008 = 1 (Gasol enters the chat) Amazing how that works?

Funny because the Wizards that year defensively were even worse than the Suns. (Almost bottom 5 in both PTS allowed and Defensive rating).

Just stop it. The East was weak, and Lebron took advantage of an easy JV league.

So Lebron beat Arenas in 06' because he stole Arenas' sidekick

So Lebron had the East all-star center and his opponent's sidekick, along with the future COY and top defenses... aka HIGH SEEDS in a conference that 1-star teams were winning, while MJ had rookie low seeds in a conference that required a super-team to win.

Lebron didn't have to carry his worst teams/low seeds in the playoffs because he got 3 years to develop his team into a veteran, high seed before entering the 06' Playoffs.. Otoh, Jordan was thrown into the playoffs in year 1 as a low seed and forced to carry his worst teams in the playoffs as a rookie.

I wonder how many times you’ve been told that Hughes was injured in December in 05-06

What does that have to do with Lebron winning his first playoff series by stealing his opponent's sidekick?.. Hughes played all 6 games in the 2006 1st Round win over his former teammate Arenas

So Lebron had the East all-star center and his opponent's sidekick, along with the future COY and top defenses... aka HIGH SEEDS in a conference that 1-star teams were winning, while MJ had rookie low seeds in a conference that required a super-team to win.

Ultimately, Lebron didn't have to carry his worst teams/low seeds in the playoffs because he got 3 years to develop his team into a veteran, high seed before entering the 06' Playoffs.. Otoh, Jordan was thrown into the playoffs in year 1 as a low seed and forced to carry his worst teams in the playoffs as a rookie.

He wasn’t healthy is what it means.

Hughes played a combined 44mins in the 07 Finals and avg. 1-2-1

The same guy 3fag is praising as a great sidekick.

Two more fun Hughes facts:

1. While it’s true that he went from 22 to 16 PPG upon joining the Cavs (of course with the aforementioned injury), he also went from 13 to 19 ppg the year after Jordan left.

2. He played in 3 games against the Pistons in the 2006 playoffs..the Cavs went 0-3 in those games. The 4 games without him? 3-1

Hughes went from 3rd option with Jordan, to 2nd option alongside Arenas/Lebron... So he only cratered alongside Bron.. no surprise there... Hughes was peak pippen alongside Arenas but 89' Pippen alongside Bron.

Ultimately, scoring forwards or spotty-shooting ball-handlers crater alongside Lebron like Hughes, Ingram, Pippen, Derrick Rose, Wade, IT, Clarkson, Jamison, Bosh, Love, and more

He averaged about the same FGA as Jamison

The Arenas Wizards had 3 scorers, just like Michael's Wizards, yet Arenas' sidekicks combined for 40+ while Jordan's combined for 35 - and that's with a talent such as Stackhouse, who as we established is somewhere around as good as Dominique or Iverson

I heard LeBron averaged a higher playoff series PPGz in his 1st ever series than Kobe did for any playoff series of his career.

Is this true?

So the option hierarchy DOES matter when discussing numbers? Or no?

Or is it one of those things where it matters when it works in your favor but doesn’t matter if it’s a detriment to your argument?

3ball is too embarrassed to admit defeat but yes, it's true. Ever since his 1st ever playoff series King James was a better playoff ppgz scorer than Kobe. Kobe followed in MJ's foot steps to his own detriment by being a regualr season baller that disappeared in crucial playoff moments.

By far the best player and leader of a team that won a round in the playoffs at the age of 21. Just another highlight in a career that is truly the GOATest! :applause: :rockon: :banana:
