An elusive out-of-thread quote:

Antywane Robinson

Height: 6"6.25"
Wingspan: 7"4.5"
Difference: 8.25 inches

Rondo is definitely a freak specimen with his hands and wingspan. It's exactly what allows him to have nearly quadruple double games. It's why he can have 15+ rebounding games unlike any other 6'0 PG in NBA history. It also helps him tremendously defensively. Another way it helps is all the crazy scoop finishes he makes in the lane, even in traffic. Huge hands+wingspan mean your shot is way less likely to get blocked if you know what you're doing.

here i found only 3 players in NBA history that were as freaky as Rondo... but nobody was freakier than Rondo.... EVER...

Dallas Lauderdale is 6'7" and has a 7'6" wingspan.... 10" difference....

John Riek is 6'11" and has a 7'9" wingspan... 10" difference...

Jason Maxiell is 6'5" and has a 7'3" wingspan... 10" difference...

Too bad he doesn't just have same wingspan but also same shooting skills with most of PF/C.

do you think maybe his ridicilous arms/hands have something to do with his shooting? i mean.... its really disproportioned (spelling?) to his body

I am 6'2 with 6'9 wingspan, that's not bad I guess, or is it quite normal ?

:( . I'm jealous. I'm 5'11 with a 6'1 wingspan... so I'm short armed like Blake Griffin I guess. You're basically the same specs as Eric Gordon. If you get an incredibly strong build for slashing to the hoop and a 40 inch vert... we'll see you in the NBA :D .

Jason Maxiells without shoes 6'5" (6'6.25" with shoes) and has a 7'3.25" wingspan.... who ever placed him at 6'7" (as he is today listed in NBA.com) is a MORON...... i think maybe he lied a bit just so he doesnt look like a midget Power Forward... which at 6'7" he already is anyways lol... but as u can see he makes up for it with this INSANE wingspan

Wade has impressive wingspan for his size.... 6'10" 3/4 and he is 6'4"... but nothing that super freaky...

A super-long wingspan is only useful for basketball. Otherwise, it's got to be a hassle for getting clothes that fit.

hahahah yea... imagine trying to pick a jacket/suit or something..... the arms just stick out no matter what.... so you take a XXL jacket/suit to cover your arms.... but now everything just hangs loose and baggy on your body instead, but only the arms fit nice... :lol

i would probably go with a t-shirt or basketball jersey all the time :lol

Rondo is definitely unique but out of all the position players that i'd want to have that freakish wingspan, i'd least want it for my pg. especially if you cant shoot a freaking simple FT

Wade, Pippen, Prince all guys who use their wingspan especially well for wing guys.

and McHale and Pau Gasol. both guys with great length and used it to their max ability.

guys i hope who will be able to utilize their crazy length for great defense: Durant, Hassan Whiteside (7'8" wingspan), and JaVale McGee.

I heard that due to JaVale McGee's wingspan, the NBA was going to innovate a "STEALBLOCK" category.

I'm 6'1" with a 6'7" wingspan, but some of that is because I'm very broad-shouldered, sorta like Dwight Howard if his shoulder muscles weren't THAT insane. I think my arms are normal length (I'm a 36/37" sleeve iirc).

Phil Jackson had some long arms. He was good at defending inbounds passes.
