LeBron's mediocre clutch play this past season was more a result of diminished ability, which led to poor confidence, than lacking something upstairs. You don't go from #1 for 3 straight seasons to running away from the ball because you suddenly lost your toughness.

He was dominant in the clutch in the playoffs in the Celtics and Bulls series. He closed out the Celtics....alone. You don't score 10 straight points with the shots he was taking if you don't some confidence in your game.

Its funny that Kobe choked in the 2nd round but LeBron got all the way to the finals than choked. So even though Kobe performed worse LeBron takes more flak.

The reason why LeBron takes more flak is because there are higher standards and higher expectations. LeBron is the better player and will get heat when he under performs. Thats what happens when you are the best.

I'm not a Heat fan or a LeBron fan but those are the facts.

Not to mention you cant stop people from being immature trolls and posting ridiculous stuff on the internet.

I used to make fun of LeBron too. Only for a little bit after the finals. I was happy they lost and the Mavericks won. But you have to move on. There was literally a window that you could make fun of LeBron and gloat. But that has closed. Now anyone that talks about it is just an immature troll. When the playoffs come around (or next finals Lebron is in) that will be a great time to bring up his performance in the previous playoffs or finals. But make sure to keep it respectful and dignified. Show that you actually respect the game of basketball. Prove you aren't a trash talking punk who writes slander on the internet for no apparent reason.

Or maybe it's because Kobe is 33, in his 15th season, and is clearly well past his prime while LeBron is in the midst of his? Not to mention Kobe fully "proved" himself with his 08-10 run. LeBron? Not so much.

probably because it doesn't give attempts. i bet kobe has significantly more attempts than everyone else.

until this past year though, lebron was pretty clearly the best late game player in the league. he was dominating close games on both ends and proving to be very good in game winning situations both as a scorer and passer. this year he dropped off a bit, and then just completely disappeared in the finals.

he just choked. simple as that. has nothing to do with a diminished ability. he was great against the bulls and celtics. something changed in the finals....he choked...simple as that.

The fact that people expect him to hit a clutch shot in every single playoff game tells me how clutch he is. In 2 series(Boston and Chicago) out of 4 series, he was extremely clutch. That's half of the playoffs and that's against two very good defensive teams. He was hitting clutch shot after clutch shot in those two series, yet people expect from him to play like this for the whole 4 series and then MAYBE some of them would consider him clutch.

Now I ask myself, do people expect the same from Bryant, Anthony, Allen,...... players who are supposed to be super clutch? To hit a clutch shot after clutch shot for 4 playoff series straight? I don't think so(it's not realistic), yet this is expected from Lebron who is supposed to be in a lower category(he is not, though) when it comes to clutchness.

Don't you see a contradiction here or double standards? I bet if Bryant had this year one series when he hit so many clutch shots as Lebron did against Boston, people would be setting monuments for him. Then, there is Lebron who countinues to be super clutch in Chicago series aswell and that's nothing special, he should play the same in the Finals and also in the first round to come even close to Bryant or Anthony regarding clutchness right?

why does LeBron take so much "Heat" when the real choker is Kobe?

Last playoff/final game each year.THE BIG GAMES...Elimination games

Kobe: .................LeBron:
2011: 7-18 39%........9-15 60%

2010: 6-24 25%........8-21 38%

2009: 10-23 44%........8-20 40%

2008: 7-22 32% ......14-29 48%

2007: 13-33 39%......10-30 33%

2006: 8-16 50%.........11-24 46%

2004: 7-21 33%

2003: 9-19 47%

2002: 7-16 44%

2001: 7-18 39%

2000: 8-27 30%

1999: 7-16 44%

1997: 4-14 29%

One has had a longer career than the other.... what we know right now?

Games over 60%: LeBron - 1 Kobe - 0

Games over 50%: LeBron - 1 Kobe - 1

Games over 45%: LeBron - 3 Kobe - 2

Games under 40%: LeBron - 2 Kobe - 8

Games under 35%: LeBron - 1 Kobe - 5

Games under 30%: LeBron - 0 Kobe - 2 ( should be 3 but 2000 is rounded)

Looks like LeBron is doing ok while kobe chokes it up :applause:

Kobes overall finals performance:

09-10 40.5%
08-09 43.0%
07-08 40.5%
03-04 38.1%
01-02 51.4%
00-01 41.5%
99-00 36.7%

Look how terrible Kobe's numbers are (choking!!!)..... LeBrons overall finals performance in 2011:

10-11 47%.... Kobe only had ONE year better than this. Heck Kobe's second best year is 43%...fail!

Also in the Finals LeBron averaged more assists per game than Jason Kidd and almost as many rebounds as Tyson Chandler.

But Kobe blows EVERY finals EVERY SINGLE ONE except for once in 2002? and all the silly Kobe kids ignore that?... :facepalm

I do know that Kobe is overrated and for some reason LeBron gets some undeserved hate when he is a better player than Kobe.

Kobe's Final Stats are laughable. Biggest choker/chucker

I wouldn't have made this thread If it hadnt been for all the annoying Kobe kids spamming the forums the past few days. Go away! Kobe is Turrible we dont need to support terrible chuckers who dont improve in the playoffs and turn to jelly in the finals....

Once again no Kobe fan has come in here and backed Kobe up with any stats... As expected. :facepalm

AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO KOBE THE LAST TIME IN THE PLAYOFFS....

Kobe has never had a regular season where he shot over 47%...

LeBron has all his seasons over 47% except for one (rookie season) :applause:

While destroying Kobe in shooting he beats him in the PPG category

Kobe career 25.3

LeBron James career 27.7

While destroying Kobe in scoring he beats Kobe in rebounds and assists

Kobe career 5.3/4.7

LeBron James Career 7.1/7 :applause:

But the playoffs are what matter when you really step it up!!!!

Kobe:.......................LeBron:
2011: 23/3/3.......................24/8/6
2010: 29/6/6.......................29/9/8 on 50%
2009: 30/5/6.......................35/9/7 on 51%
2008: 30/6/6.......................28/8/8
2007: 33/5/4.......................25/8/8
2006: 28/6/6.......................31/8/6

Career averages:

Kobe: 25/5/5
LeBron: 28/8/7

LeBron beats Kobe even when comparing a better Kobe want to compare these two at the same stages of their career and see what really happens?

Kobe:.....................LeBron:
1999: 20/7/5..............2006: 31/8/6
2000: 21/5/4..............2007: 25/8/8
2001: 29/7/6..............2008: 28/8/8
2002: 27/6/5..............2009: 35/9/7 on 51%
2003: 32/5/5..............2010: 29/9/8 on 50%
2004: 25/5/6..............2011: 24/8/6

LeBron crushes Kobe.

Now If we are staying on topic and comparing choking jobs...In Kobes 2004 playoff run he shot 41% FG and 25% 3PT ...

LeBron shot 47% FG and 35% 3PT :applause:

So I guess its safe to say with all the information gained in this thread...

LeBrons' regular season > Kobe's

LeBron's postseason > Kobe's

LeBron's Finals performance in 2011 is better than all of Kobe's but one. I expect that to be surpassed very soon at the rate LeBron is going.

So once again where is the hate for LeBron coming from when Kobe is worse?

Kobe Kids: Please refrain from using pictures and youtube videos to debate. I like to reason with statistics and facts.

LeBron has choked a grand total of one time. Let's give him a chance to overcome his reputation as a choker (which he didn't deserve in any way until this year's finals)

This is a myth. If you actually believe this, Kobe also quit in the 2011 playoffs, he knew it was over and accepted it as well as Lebron did. Check Lebrons stats over the entire series. He actually played some amazing games against the C's.

Were you in one during game 1? game 3? Heck even game 6 was pretty sick. The games where Lebron played out of his mind the Cavs won, when he played 'great ball', I'm talking 22/8/9 or what was it? They lose? It took hero ball from him every single game for them to win.

Can we stop pretending it's his fault they lost that series?

This has nothing to do with games 1, 3 and 6. It's what happened when the series was tied, Cleveland at home, with the chance to take a 3-2 series lead. Lebron was no-where to be found. Stop trying to re-write history. Sports and news-radio ripped him for his effort..or lack there of.

Game 3 was amazing. Game 1 was great. Games 2 and 4 were bad, game 6 was horrible, and game 5 was god-awful.

Game 6 was not sick. He put up stats but played with absolutely no enthusiasm and leadership and it trickled down to his teammates, and he also had 9 horrible turnovers.

And maybe you can say Kobe did. Who cares? I'm not comparing the two.

Yeah. He had a bad game. Deal with it, other greats have had similar moments. The thing I mean is, and I'm sure you're well aware of that, is that his team was nowhere to be found when Lebron didn't play hero ball.. How many times in the history of the NBA has 1 player been able to carry a team with that kinda talent (lack of) deep into the playoffs year after year?

Now he's signed in Miami, and they get to the Finals in their first year together..

Haters enjoy your hating while you still can because we all know Miami is going to win a bunch of chips in the next 5 years (barring injuries). The pathetic thing is, when they do, you all will suddenly be their biggest fans. :facepalm

so after going to his 3rd straight Finals you think players still have the edge that made them Champions??...

Lebra fans/Jordan stans constantly say Kobe "Quit" vs the Suns or Celtics??....fool he was already a 3X champion!!....then this past year he was already a 5X champion with 7 NBA Finals appearances!!..sometimes when you are that good it's hard to keep the winning edge...

what happened when Jordan won 3 Rings??...he quit the game!!!! for 1 and a half seasons!!!....Not too mention him (MJ) quitting vs the Pistons in 89' before he won jack!

Kobe goes to 7 NBA Finals in 10 years and wins 5...andyou guy's expect him to come out hungry every year???....it doesn't work like that.....but at least he still competes and doesn't lose his love for the game and retire:confusedshrug:

Yeah. He had a bad game. Deal with it

This has nothing to do with me "dealing with it". The issue here is you claiming his 'choking' (or quitting) to be myth. Far from.

I gotta tell you something, Ernie," he said to Ernie Johnson. "As a fan -- and I've said all year that LeBron James was the best basketball player in the world -- but I'm 100 percent disappointed. Not the fact that he didn't have a good game, he clearly didn't have a good game. But his mentality … I go back, I played against a Michael Jordan, a Karl Malone, a Patrick Ewing, listen, their gun was gonna be empty by the end of the game. And I did not see that tonight. Clearly, it happened in Game 2. But tonight, in the biggest game of the season -- this was clearly the biggest game of the season -- I did not see the aggression that I needed from an MVP at home." It was … dumbfounding. That's what it was.

No one's hating, dickhead. It's called pointing out the facts. Deal with it.

I believe, and you can quote me on this whenever you like, that Miami will not win a chip with the Lebron/Wade/Bosh trio. The route to the finals will only get more and more difficult, and they may not even make the finals again.

Most teams' superstars become overpaid in their early 30's, and Miami will have three of those. They will struggle putting the necessary pieces together to win a chip under the new CBA (whenever it's done).

- You will see, LeBron will win next year and you'll be back on his jock.
