Last season I went to a Clippers vs Magic game and sat in the 11th row right on the free throw line. You cannot even begin to fathom how monstrous NBA players are until you have been to a game and sat close to the floor. Players that are 6'3 and below are usually still pretty ripped but they look tiny in comparison the the behemoths like Griffin and Dwight Howard. Hell, even Vince Carter, who is a ****ing monster at 6'7" looked kind of small when he stood next to those two. But my body just wasn't ready when I saw Griffin and Howard moving so quick and jumping as high as they do. It's just unbelievable.

KG probably is 6'11. Most players list their shoe heights anyways. But then guys like KG and Duncan just go head and list their true height.

I would say Kevin Durant is a legitimate 6'10. Howard is probably 6'10. Remember, most players list 1 inch higher than they are.

my guess is 6ft 9 1/2. growing 1/2 inch for 19 year old is rare, but it can happen. i've seen many dirk & durant pictures and i don't see full 2 inch difference. from my observation with various bron & durant pictures it's a safe bet that difference between bron and durant is good 2 inches.

my new estimation

dwight howard - 6ft 9 1/2 (by comparing various pics with ewing & bosh)
kevin durant - 6ft 9 1/2 (comparing pics with green, dirk, and etc)
lebron james - 6ft 7 1/2 (boozer, battier, bosh and etc)


Also it all depends on what time of the day nba measure these players. I'm 1/2 inch taller in the morning. I also lost 3/4 inch of my height due to my back surgery.

While I don't think Durant is 6'11" barefoot, that picture doesn't really discredit that myth. Dirk doesn't look much taller than him in that pic, not to mention Dirk is leaning in and up, and his hid is tilted up.

are you blind? dirk is clearly taller by at least 1 1/2 inch from that picture. durant is the one who is standing up straight.


some of these pics are bad angle, but you pretty much draw a conclusion that durant is nowhere near 6ft 11 barefoot like dirk is.

from these pics Durant is clearly under 6ft 10. most likely somewhere between 6ft 9(his barefoot measurement in 2007) to 6ft 9 1/2. and i can definitely buy durant growing 1/2 inch. he clearly did have 2 inches on bron for sure.

Go back and look at the other one and tell me what I said is wrong. And I'm not even try to say or argue Durant is 6'11" or 7'0". I think, at best, he's probably 6'9.25"-6'9.5" w/o shoes, and probably between 6'10"-6'11" in shoes. I agree with you, I just think you're picking bad pictures to make your point.

Yes, Durant is standing straight up but, regardless of which version of the picture you use, Dirk still is tilting his head UP and, in the zoomed out version, it looks like he's leaning in and slightly up on his toes. In the zoomed out picture (the first one you posted) only.

And the third pic in this post (I deleted it in the quote) is another bad one to use for this argument They're standing too far apart and the crowd in the background makes it very hard to gain any perspective in comparing their heights. The All-Star pic is a pretty good one, though.
