Not sure how anyone is doing this. If people thought the regular season and first 3 rounds were meaningless, no one would give a sh*t about Lebron and how he performs in the Finals. The reason why people criticize him so much for his Finals performances (and last year's Boston series), is cause we've seen how great he can be in other moments. For some reason though, in the biggest series in the end, he seems to underperform greatly. Games you will play easier and harder, easier and harder opponents. Playoffs and particularly finals are the hardest, most stressful, and most watched games there are. The NBA has millions of people watching them. People are remembered for leading their teams to championships. Lets take a look at the top 10 list.

1) Michael Jordan- 6 championships for Chicago
2.) Kareem- 6 Championships for LA and Milwaukee
3.) Wilt- 2 championships
4.) Russell- 11 championships
5.) Magic- 5 championships
6.) Larry- 3 championships

These people showed they can perform their best in the toughest situations. They didn't choke, LeBron has been awful in the 2 finals he has been in. Until he can win, he will be hated on because of the way he played. Not because he didnt win. If he put up 30\8\7 on 50% in those finals, or shit even his regular season average, people wouldn't hate on him because he played his heart out. He gave up both times, and looked non existant. I know Mike Brown pretty well bro. Look, he's great at defensive schemes, but when it comes to offense, he depends on purely on the talent you have, which will be better in the case of the Lakers than it was for the Cavs because they have more than just one offensive option, but his offensive schemes don't go any better than just rudimentary. Look for a lot of drive and kicks as well as ball swinging to be the extent of his offensive genius. He will make you guys better defensively though.

i think it was in 09 that the cavs had jon kuester, the pistons coach this last year, and that year they actually had some nice schemes. it wasnt like tex winter level sh*t or anything, but some ball movement, and smart offense. brown will delegate the offense if he can get a great assistant coach like kuester.

anyway, i think a lot of the cavs problems with ball movement stemmed from the players more than anything. apart from mo and delonte back in his day, nobody on the cavs could do much outside of lebron.

now whether this will be an issue on the lakers, we'll have to wait and see, but i think the lakers will bounce back next year and push for the finals

If those 8 points come with 30 seconds left, when the team is down 6; I'll take that all day over a person scoring 12 on 6/6 shooting for the full game. Context is important here.

You are basically preferring a hot start over a strong finish. A lead can easily change throughout the course of the game, but guaranteeing points at the end of the game is a big momentum swing that gives you a high chance of winning. Basketball isn't just about numbers, it's also about how the game flows.
