View Full Version : Tim Grover -- "Kobe is back, and he's gonna be MVP again"

In a recent interview with the Chicago Tribune, Tim Grover got emotional over the recent debate about Kobe being on his downfall. "Lets get one thing straight.." , Grover said, " This long summer has done wonders for Kobe's mind and body. His knee is the best I've ever seen it. Just a couple days ago I had some Mcdonald's All Americans in here.. and Kobe beat them in a dunk contest. I wont even talk about how bad they got it during the One on One drills.. Yea, his finger is still rotten, but he's found a way to adjust and his jumper is back. Kobe is back.. and he's gonna be MVP again. You can bet on it"

Too bad there's not gonna be a season this year. I wanted to see Kobe dominate the league yet again.

saying it like he won 5 MVPs. Kobe has only won one sympathy MVP. Doubt he gets another one.

Skip Bayless said something similar on twitter a few weeks ago:
Heard today from Kobe insider that new procedure he had done in Germany (experimental but legal) completely healed his knee. Lift back!

It's funny because the few times people have posted quotes from Grover on here, they get overlooked and made fun of it. News flash....this guy is a legend. He works miracles and has been doing so for a long time. If he says Kobe is back or that Eddy Curry is in great shape, there is literally no reason to not believe him. His track record speaks for itself.

Tim Grover was Michael Jordan's personal trainer back in the 90's. He was also an essential part of Wade's comeback season in 2009.

So, basically, he's a trainer to the stars. That's his qualifications?
Gee wiz, NBA owners must be morons for hiring coaches to coach and scouts to scouts. They should just hire trainers. They really know their sh*t.

Shut the f*ck up. You asked why his opinion meant more than a homeless guy and buddy clearly stated why. Grover was huge when Wade made his comeback, he's helped a ton of players.
You were just being a douche and continue to nitpick.

The Kobe haters are pathetic, even if he has a sub par season it hardly validates any of their arguments. These idiots fail to realize theyre speaking of a man in his 16th season, which with playoff games considered has probably contributed closer to 18 years of service.
What does Wade or whoever being "better" than Kobe at this point in time prove? The fact that its even still a valid argument at this point alone is a testament to Kobes greatness.
When your dad is 75 and you finally beat him in basketball, is that something to be proud of?

It's not like he's some scrub, who's latched on to one successful player. The stars seek him out.

Your stupid, Grover actually works with Kobe, So he knows more than a Coach, or Scout would know about a players physical condition.

I'm a huge Kobe fan but its obvious he's never going to the the same Kobe. He is going to have to pick and choose his spots and no he isn't winning MVP.

Said the same thing about jermaine oneal, tmac and eddy curry without the mvp part. ITs not likely that some obscure procedure would heal kobe to 100%. Like hes the only case where it actually worked. I guess broy, garnett can get to 100% yay. smh.
