Weems doesn't play for Zagreb (even though I would like to see him playing for Croatian club).
He plays for ZALGIRIS.

My recommendations:
November 2nd: Caja Laboral - Olympiacos
November 3rd: Maccabi - Real Madrid
November 4th: Panathinaikos - Zalgiris

Time in Europe has changed so I'm not sure what the time difference is now.
It used to be 6 hours, now it's probably 5 hours difference.
Just a hint for American viewers,if a game is played at 21:00 CET it's 4:00 PM ET

Zagreb just lost to a Eurocup team from Croatia in the Adriatic league by 40+…and now they've gotta play CSKA, yikes. :oldlol:

Caja Laboral - Olympiacos should be a good one.
Nancy - Fenerbahce : I'll be looking forward to the Batum vs. Preldzic/Bogdanovic/Sefolosha matchup.
MTA - Real is another good game.
EA7 vs. Efes I'll really be looking forward too.

Sadly I don't think I'll be able to catch much of any of these games since I've been so loaded up on work lately.

Spanoulis playing injured then. He seems better now. Lucas injured. Now he is playing. Antic injured then. He seems better now. So Olympiacos will be much stronger than they were then.

Keselj is playing now too, but he sucks anyway so he does not count. Papadopoulos still seems hurt.

The main problem for Olympiacos is Vasilopoulos and Pelekanos being injured. If not for that then guys like Mantzaris, Papanikoloau, and Katsivelis would not be paying 20-25 minutes a game and then Spanoulis could spend his whole time at PG, instead of having to cover for the absence of Pelekanos.

If Olympiacos ever gets their 9 man rotation healthy, they should be pretty good. Howard does not seem to be ready for this year, but Lucas does.

PG Spanoulis/Lucas
SG Gecevicius - Pelekanos
SF Vasilopoulos - Pelekanos
PF Printezis/Hines
C Antic/Papadopoulos

From what I have seen so far, if they just get that main 9 man rotation set as they expected...they will be pretty good. It actually looks to be a much better team than I expected it would be - if it just gets healthy.

Printezis played really well last week against Fener, haven't seen him play that well in years.

Hines has a really unorthodox style of play for his size/position, but it seems pretty effective.

BTW, do you know why Reggie Williams isn't getting many minutes? He seems to be productive in the minutes he does get

If you don't play like Dusko wants you to, you do NOT play at all. As easy as that. The European Sloan.
Also, Ribas has been playing well, Ivanovic is in love with Oleson and San Emeterio's the league MVP... there's not that many minutes for all.

Look at Seraphin's minutes when he doesn't do what Ivanovic wants.

Hines was the only one who impressed me here.

Hines is good on offense in the open court and in pick and roll he is decent, but he's also way too undersized. He is about a 50/50 in production for the team. Whatever he scores he gives up in points and fouls. He should be used as a SF but Ivkovic is too stubborn and is playing him at PF, where he is getting abused on defense even in Greek League.

Still, he is good enough in the open court on offense to be an even split in production. Hines and Papadopoulos are actually the weakest links in Olympiacos main rotation, if you count all the facets of the game.

The strongest links are Spanoulis, Gecevicius, and Printezis.

Which is why I said, he's like the European Jeff Van Gandy. Believe me, Sloan is much more lenient than those guys.

Sloan will even allow his players to run their own plays and offense and everyone will at least get a chance with Sloan.

Ivanovic is the same type of guy as Jeff Van Gundy....Napoleon complex.

Hines is an absolutely horrible player on defense in every game of Olympiacos so far. The book is out on him after last year. Teams are now going after him. He gives up whatever he scores.

Spanoulis, Gecevicius, Printezis are much better and more important all around players than Hines is. Hines is pretty good on offense though, although his pick and roll game needs tome polish.

Ahh gotcha. Reggie's an odd guy to sign for a team with a strict system based coach. He played college ball at VMI, which as an obscure small school, with complete offensive freedom, then played on some mid table team in France and then for Don Nelson in GS...pretty much the antithesis of the team he's on now. :oldlol:

Ivanovic is not a strict system coach. Players can take any shot and any amount of shots they want to.

He's just a dickhead and plays favorites. He's the same kind of personality as JVG. It's not the system...it's just his personality.

Williams is actually perfect for his "system". His "system" is basically the same offense and defense of Mike D'Antoni.

I like Gecevicius. He's one of the best shooters I have seen. He's also a decent ball handler, passer, and even his defense is underrated.

Sloan will treat VSpan the same way Van Gundy treated the TMac of Europe.

He will never let a turnover machine who can't guard a lick play unless it's garbage time.

First of all, normally Spanoulis play the 2 guard position and Calathes is a pure 1.
Second, Spanoulis played ahead of him. (Not sure if you are talking about the last Eurobasket where Spanoulis was injured in the abs.)

Actually, Spanoulis has played point guard for the last 4 seasons, and also this year.

Calathes played point guard his first 2 seasons in PAO, but now he has been moved to shooting guard this season (which makes no sense considering he can't shoot).

Redikas getting garbage minutes in Rytas, but doing quite well in em. Ulanovas and Pukis are doing ok, but bit dissapointing their teams are definetly weaker than Redikas' and Cizauskas' . Skucas haven't played this season injury or smt idk.

Nice alley oop, Sergio to Rudy.

They've got a nice running team out there with Sergio, Carroll, Rudy, Pocius, and Ibaka.

Farmar leads MTA with 13
Rudy leads Real with 10, Ibaka with 7/6

That's actually quite to be expected. I would not be surprised if he did it in the next game against them also..........even though it would be on the road.

I can say with full conviction that the "point" guards of Real Madrid, Sergio Rodriguez and Sergio Llull are without any doubt the two worst defenders in Euroleague at the point guard position.

Especially Llull is amazingly horrible on defense.

Jordan Farmar MVP of the week followed by Acie Law :lol

Moreover Jordan Farmar did it in a "big" match, against arguably a top 5 team of Europe.

I doubt any point guard performs against Real Madrid in Euroleague this season at the same level Farmar did today.

At this stage these have been Euroleague's MVPs of the weeks so far.

Week 1: Kirilenko
Week 2: Batum
Week 3: Farmar

Unicaja - Brose Baskets had a really exciting finish. In the last 30 seconds Brose Baskets went ahead by one on a clutch 3 and then Berni Rodriguez hit a tough fadeaway with 4 seconds left to win the game.

Barcelona, Unicaja, Caja Laboral, and Real all representing the ACB well.
