Pretty much only good for running pick and rolls and perimeter shooting at this stage of his career, nothing more than a role player now.
Acie Law has a shot too - 26/7...Farmar has a higher ranking though so unless someone goes off tomorrow, he'll probably get it.

It's so obvious that Euroleague does everything in his power to underrated American players.
He makes dumb threads insulting players like Batum yet the guy is putting up good numbers and leading his team to a decent record.
He gets embarassed in every thread he makes. When he has nothing else to excuse an American's dominant performance, he'll resort to his retard excuse of "he had the refs help".

[QUOTE]On the heels of a disappointing 2010-11 Turkish Airlines Euroleague season, it took CSKA Moscow just two games to prove to everyone that the team is back on track to fight for its seventh continental title already this season. After two regular season games, CSKA leads the competition in assists, is second in scoring and performance index rating and has registered two clear wins over Zalgiris and Brose Baskets. One man who has everything to do with CSKA's early-season resurgence is power forward Andrei Kirilenko, who is Euroleague Basketball's choice as bwin MVP for October. Kirilenko returned to CSKA this season after a decade abroad and has made sure nobody has forgotten about his talent or intensity. Kirilenko delivered right away with a monster performance in the Euroleague's Opening Game in Kaunas by helping his team all over the court to earn Week 1 bwin MVP honors. Far from being satisfied, Kirilenko led CSKA to a convincing home win against Brose Baskets. The 30-year-old Kirilenko leads the 2011-12 Euroleague in performance index rating average (30), rebounding (9.5 rpg.) and blocks (2.5 bpg.) and is also tied for fifth place in assists (5.5 apg.). In other words, Andrei Kirilenko is the logical selection as bwin MVP for October!
The bwin MVP of the Month honor is now in its eighth season. Although statistics and performance ratings are taken into consideration for the award, they alone do not determine who is honored. The winner is named by Euroleague Basketball based on his and his team's performance. The award for October was decided based on the two regular season games played during that month by all 24 teams. bwin, a Euroleague Basketball partner, is the sponsor of the MVP of the Month award. Just as the best Euroleague player each month combines performance and leadership for success, so does bwin's sponsorship communicate its conviction to be the best betting brand in European basketball.
The Euroleague Opening Game was a big test for CSKA and Kirilenko at the brand new Zalgiris Arena in basketball-crazy Lithuania. Far from being intimidated, Kirilenko downed the opening shot and had 8 points in the first quarter to put CSKA ahead for good and to help his team keep a safe margin throughout the second half. Kirilenko, who had led Russia to the bronze medal at EuroBasket 2011 in that very same arena, kept his and CSKA

Week 3 bwin MVP: Jordan Farmar, Maccabi Electra
Jordan Farmar delivered his finest performance to date since joining Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv over the summer to lead the Israeli champs to an 88-82 victory over Real Madrid and earn Week 3 bwin MVP honors. Farmar, a Euroleague rookie, had big shoes to fill this season when he took the spot in the starting lineup of All-Euroleague point guard Jeremy Pargo, who led the Israeli champs to the Euroleague title game last season. But in a highly-anticipated showdown against the team Macccabi bested in the semifinals at last season’s Final Four in Barcelona, Farmar came through using his speed, shot making ability and ball handling skills to post big numbers. He finished with 27 points on 9-of-11 two-point shooting, made his only three-point attempt, and added 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 8 fouls drawn for a performance index rating of 35, which was best in the Euroleague this week. Another newcomer, Partizan mt:s guard Acie Law, also produced his best Euroleague game yet in leading his team to its maiden win this season. Law registered 26 points, 7 assists, 2 steals and just 1 turnover for a 32 index rating – second best in Week 3 – as Partizan topped Belgacom Spirou 91-81 Thursday at Pionir Arena. Third on the list of Week 3 stars is a savvy veteran. Rimantas Kaukenas of Montepaschi Siena went off for 24 points on near-perfect shooting as his team routed Galatasaray Medical Park 103-77 on Wednesday. Kaukenas finished with an index rating of 30. Week 2 bwin MVP Nicolas Batum produced another big night on the road Thursday, but it wasn’t enough to steer SLUC Nancy to victory. Nevertheless, Batum amassed 22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals as part of his 29 index rating. Rounding out the list of top Week 3 performers is two-time All-Euroleague big man Erazem Lorbek, who had 24 points with just 2 missed shots plus 5 rebounds as FC Barcelona Regal trumped Unics Kazan 65-93 in Russia.

Jordan "the Chris Paul of Euroleague" Farmar had 5 points, 2 assists, a 4 ranking.
He was dominated in the game by "Euro scrub" Demond Mallet.
Nicolas "the Scottie Pippen of Euroleague" Batum had 9 points with a 14 ranking and was dominated by "Euro scrub" Michalis Pelekanos and his team lost.
Danilo "the Larry Bird of Euroleague" Gallinari had 14 points, and led his team to one of the single game greatest collapses in Euroleague history, as his team lost a late 20 point lead.................
Sonny Weems ("the LeBron James of Euroleague") and Ty Lawson ("the Isaiah Thomas of Euroleague") combined forces to play like complete scrubs and help guarantee their team a loss, and possibly eliminate them already from the competition. Weems gets a special star, considering his turnover at the end of the game basically caused the loss, which now makes at least two losses in Euroleague that he was personally responsible for.
The "total domination" continues........

Yeah 14/7 in Euroleague...it's almost as good as his 16/7 with the Nets in the NBA.
He is actually averaging 15/7. But let's also compare the minutes played and field goal percentage.
In EuroLeague he is only playing 24 minutes a night to get 15/7. In the NBA he played 33 minutes a night. In EuroLeague to get 15/7 he shot 61% from the field. In the NBA he shot 53%.
Give Krstic another 8 minutes a night in EuroLeague and he could very well be a 20 PPG player. He would never be that in the NBA.
And let's also remember that he went down with a devastating injury. So he has better production in EuroLeague than in the NBA even with limited mobility compared to what he was as a 24 year old in the NBA.

Why is everything for you having to compare the two and try to make the NBA look bad? Seriously dude get over it. I wasn't having a go at the Euroleague. You do not need to go google his stats from 5 years ago to try to make it look like he's having more trouble in the euroleague. He's currently an 8/5 player on 51%. His 16/7 season came 5 years ago in 33 mpg, playing against that guy named Jason Kidd.
He goes from 8/5 on 51% to 15/7 on 61%. Almost double points, and add a couple rebounds while increasing shooting percentage by 10.

The NBA is the league with the best players and the best basketball is played there. I'm not disputing that, I'm a NBA fan and couldn't care less about Euroleague (why is everyone so defensive about this subject). But that doesn't chanche the fact that the 'holy grail' of basketball possibly can't be found in the NBA. The rules that chanched a few years ago, have made NBA games a little bit less relevant to me, then the did in the years before. I like fundamental basketball, by the best players in the world. That's what the holy grail of basketball represents to me. The NBA is the place to look for that (although there are other places like the OS and possibly Euroleauge where you could find it also), but sometimes you have to look very very good, past lost of marginal basketball, to find it.

I think you're over-exaggerating the decline of fundamentals in the NBA. At least when you allude to it making the league less relevant. It matters not if a guy has a better mechanical release on his jump shot if he can't hang with the best in the world.
There's still PLENTY of fundamental basketball being played in the NBA, it's just being outshined by never-before-seen athleticism. I won't argue that players are coming up with less fundamentals, but let's not act like these guys don't know how to play basketball because they do.
In my opinion, there's a reason why a lot of guys don't want to come over to the NBA, and that is because they know they're over-matched athletically. That makes them lesser basketball players, in my eyes, because athleticism is a huge part of the game (thus the term "athlete"). It doesn't matter to me if there are players out there with a little better fundamentals than the best players in the NBA because they just aren't better than the best players in the NBA on an overall level. You have to have skill and athleticism to rise to the top in the NBA. If you don't have the athleticism, you end up in Europe. If you don't have the skill, you end up like James White. If you have both, you end up in the holy grail.

The NBA is the holy grail of basketball. Very few get to say they played in the same league as the best players in the world. Such a finite number of players make it to that level.

athleticism is just a part of the game, but you are surely overestimating it.
NBA league is all about individual play and numbers - many times young players don't even care for wins or teams records as long as their stats look sexy and they shot their mandatory 20 times a game. That's why brainless chuckers like Iverson and Kobe are worshipped there - they are flashy, charismatic and they shoot a lot too. You barely see Duncan's name being mentioned, although he is a much better player than either of those 2. I don't think I'm overestimating the role athleticism plays in basketball as much as the poster I was talking to is exaggerating how bad fundamentals are.
And you lost all credibility by calling one of the greatest basketball players ever a "brainless chucker." (talking about Kobe)

Krstic and Teodosic are best friends. So it makes sense that they have such good chemistry as they are showing. But really, I think the one who was benefiting more is Kirilenko.
Krstic is still getting some nice turnaround jumpers in the high post and low post that he is making on his own for the most part. Although he certainly does benefit from Teodosic and just mainly that he is being allowed to take some shots too. Nothing different than when he was playing with the Nets though.
But, Kirilenko, if you watched the games he played in so far..........he is just running around and getting passes and finishing some breaks, or getting a loose ball or offensive rebound and putting it in, or getting a dunk from a pick and roll and that sort of thing.
In terms of one to one scores, or plays called for him, he would have maybe 2 post ups in a game against a small forward. And he shoots the ball less and handles it way less than he did in the NBA. He is just getting a lot of more wide open dunks and layups because a lot of attention of the defense is on guys like Teodosic and Siskauskas.
In all honestly, Kirilenko was playing much worse on offense in Euroleague than he did in the NBA. Krstic has been doing good and playing well on offense. But with Kirilenko the stats are extremely skewed from watching him play. Especially in that he was also stat padding big time and playing against some really crappy teams too.
This is where the ranking stat and Euroleague weekly "MVP" award is total bull shit. But of course the NBA only fans think it is some kind of "domination".
Krstic to me was playing way better on offense than Batum and Kirilenko were. But Kirilenko was doing everything (like he is famous for), steals, blocks, rebounds, great defense, timely shots, hustle plays, efficient shooting percentage, etc. He is like the ultimate role player there is in any league.
But, he is not any great scorer by any means. Yet NBA fans believe he was "dominating" Euroleague. The problem with ranking stat and these awards being based on it, is that players like Kirilenko, Batum, San Emeterio, Diamantidis, Khryapa - those kinds of players will have inflated worth in this stat.
Really, Kirilenko is like a power forward version of Diamantidis. Truth be told, neither one of them is actually capable of carrying a team on offense. Which means they are super role players, but not "dominant" like some morons claim. They need some other guy to actually make the big shots for them.
And then, the ranking stat is basically helping out centers, because the rebound counts as one. But think of it is negative against play makers. They don't get the assist half the time, even if they made the play happen, or made the pass that setup the next pass to score.
So, PGs and SGs that create a lot of plays - Jasikevicius, Navarro, Spanoulis, Papaloukas, Teodosic, Huertas, etc. Those types of players will have a lower ranking than their true worth. And if they shoot a lot also (and since they are guards and 3 point shooters) then it will lower the ranking more, for guys like Navarro and Spanoulis.
And of course the ranking does not factor defense, but just blocks and steals. Guys like Onan, Vasilopoulos (if he is playing), Pelekanos.......there are players like this that maybe don't show up in steals and blocks stats unlike some others (Kirilenko, Diamantidis, Khryapa, Prigioni, etc.)...but just because they play a little different type defense. There is no stat for such players and their defense.
Like the game where Pelekanos totally shut down Batum on defense, yet with the ranking it almost appeared as a zero, with just a plus 1 for one block he had. But nothing at all for countless defensive stops against Batum.
The ranking stat = Euroleague weekly "MVP" is a bit bizarre.

If there were refs calling fouls for everything, teams not playing defense, a no hand check rule, no true zone defense allowed, and a defensive 3 seconds rule all in place in the Euroleague...........then the Euroleague would be an endless parade of wide open dunks and layups just like the NBA is.
With a top 10 of highlight reel dunks every week, just like the NBA, and 20 players or so that would be "superstars" because they would be dunking the hell out of everything all the time.
The NBA "athletic superiority" is almost entirely a product of marketing and the rules of the league.

The best Euroleague teams like Barca and CSKA, maybe fully healthy PAO would destroy any lottery NBA team.
So their best would be the NBA's worst?
Okay.......and? There is a reason those teams are lottery teams (and I don't think they could destroy ANY lottery team from the NBA). I'm not going to sit here and act like an NBA couldn't possibly ever lose a game to a Euroleague team (even if it was a meaningful game). But I don't think a Euroleague club could really compete with any 2nd round playoff team from the NBA in a series (even under FIBA rules).

Ridiculous.
Can't discuss things rationally with people that stuff like this.

I don't disagree with that, but they're not worlds apart. The NBA just has a greater number of truly talented players.

I didn t said that they are worlds apart , I said that rules and style of play makes difference . Again Nba has more great players but its about rules and style of play that makes me like euroleague more than Nba and that is probably the reason for others that like euroleague more too .

But I'm not arguing preference.
I'm talking about what is the best league. Like, I don't really like Garth Brooks, but he's still a better musician/performer than some of bands/artists I like. You don't have to prefer something to acknowledge that it's the best. The NBA has the best players and the most talented players. It's the best league on the planet and it's not even close. I prefer to watch college basketball over NBA basketball, but I know the NBA and its players are much, much better. Michael Jordan was never my favorite basketball player, but he was the most dominant player in the NBA. That doesn't mean that Derek Harper was the best player just because he was my favorite.

And I think that Nba is more of dunking and shooting contence than basketball game . Players there dont play with passion , they do not fight for every ball they dont care about their team , they only care about money , stats and championship ring. Thats why Nba isnt place where best basketball is played . When players stop thinking how to entertain audiance and more think about wining and doing their best than it will be.

I forgot to say this . I heard a lot of people calling Nba the flying circus and not an basketball league , now think why did they said that .

I no longer want to be reminded of the time when the lockout made me so desperate that I was forced to watch such an inferior brand of basketball.
You never once watched a single Euroleague game in your whole life.

You mean the last Olympics where the refs had to help the USA just to barely beat a Spanish team that was missing its starting point guard?

i think pau was still the leader of that team over navarro, he makes more impact on both the off and def end.

You mean the same olympics where we massacred Spain by about 28 in the group stage and then never let within 10 points of us for the entire gold medal game except for 2 minutes at the end when they were within 8 points and then Mamba took over? The same olympics where Dwayne wade had the god mode second quarter and shitted on Spain in a level of basketball dominance not seen since the days of prime Jordan?
It seems like we watched two different olympics:confusedshrug:

The same Olympics where Spain didn't try in the first game (strategy) and then in the second game might have beaten the USA in the gold medal game, even playing without Calderon, IF the refs didn't gift free throws to the USA on fake technical fouls that were designed to help make sure Team USA won the gold medal.
That is the Olympics we are talking about.

Bilbao better win. They will be a big disappointment if they don't make the Top 16. But then again so will Baskonia. So both teams better bring it.
I'm not sure what to make of this group. It's either really strong, or really bad.
