Reggie is clutcher, a better playoff performer and has great longevity. Reggie just had the misfortune of being in a league with MJ, Hakeem and D-Rob so he couldn't win MVPs.

Better playoff performer? Laughable. I respect Miller and loved watching him play. One of the best shooters ever, but couldn't defend.
And poor excuse saying he didn't win MVP because of others. If you're good enough (or have a good enough story these days really - d rose) you'll win.

These Reggie Miller picks have to be some kind of joke right? I'm the biggest Ray Allen fan out there (who is clearly an all time better player than Reggie Miller for that matter) but I sure as **** wouldn't pick him as the 25th greatest player of all time. Scottie Pippen. I Don't even know why I bother to vote though. These list are always terrible. There are too many idiots. There should be a panel of specifically selected people that can only choose these things. Democracy is for the government, but it doesn't work for ISH. Reggie ****ing Miller...jesus christ.

Lebron should have been higher but to me he's just a incredibly hard player to rate. Let's face it he's played in an era that's very soft where his stats are very inflated. If he came into the league in say 95 his stats would not be what they are. He's not at all as good as his stats say just like a lot of players aren't over the last 5 years in the league. It's going to be difficult to actually compare players from different eras just from the 90s to now because of how much the rules have changed, how less physical the game has become, and how much easier they have made it to score. Frankly Scottie Pippen is regularly regarded as a top 25-30 player, that Lebron James isn't getting votes is yes true because people hate him. Frankly I just don't care about him. I don't hate him. Do I think he's overrated? Yes, mainly because of what I stated above. Everything about his stats are inflated because of the era he plays in. Does that mean I don't think he's a great player? Not necessarily, but it makes it hard for me really to have anything to say about him good or bad or rank him in general.

I hear ya man.
Outside of Shaqattack and one or two more posters, there is hardly any or no objectivity at all during these rankings.
It's basically been just some agenda driven B.S. the last oh... 5-8 players to try to bait other fans (notably LeBron fans). It's mostly trolling that I see.
Also, you got to love RG going on multiple accounts as well, but that's going to be counted as a vote, as well as posters tag teaming to vote against certain players (namely LeBron again).
Lists like these take a lot of time and preparation IMO. You can't just give a name and just go with it. There has to be some real debate and objectivity. Not just some non sense.

Yeah because it hasn't already been established that defenses weren't evolved or intuitive or they even doubled much and that's why guys like Alex English, Kiki Vandeweghe, Adrian Dantley points wise etc were able to do what they did and that's basically why they aren't heralded as such great all time players. Well, my friend, thats what the sports world is man. Its "what have you done for me recently" in most cases. Specially with active players. Once a player has a down year the fans hop off his waggon and move onto the next hot thing. He won this year so the thought on him right now are high. Yep.

Some have stated they would change their vote to whoever had a better chance of beating Lebron a few threads back. Just say that votes that are changed will not be counted. If they don't think that Lebron is deserving then they shouldn't vote for him, and if they want to impact the outcome then maybe arguing for the player they're voting for and trying to convince people why Lebron isn't deserving of ranking this high would be more effective.

Ok, I can argue that a lot of the early era stars such as Mikan, Wilt, Russell, Pettit... the list could go on. They were also in weak eras for the most part. Especially Mikan.

If Lebron James played in the 80's he stats would look like this > 36PPG
And how do you propose he would score so much? By missing open jumpers or by driving inside and being introduced to an elbow, fist, hand or a knee of a hatched-man, which every team of the 80's had at least a couple?
Anyways, my vote is John Stockton.

I'm sorry, but the physicality of the 80's is way overrated. I'm not denying there would be hard fouls, but they were fouls, so you're getting two points.
Not to mention back then guys were much skinnier. I'm not saying they were much less athletic (which is overblown) but they were definitely weaker. To think they were going to foul a 6'8 260 pound LeBron going full speed the same way they can foul the 6'5 190 pound shooting guard driving to the basket. Outside of the ocassional hard foul, defenses in the 80's were nowhere near as strong against slashing players (think about it, what affects a 260 pound perimeter player more, a hand check, or a collapsing defense of 4 bodies?) as defenses are today.
And that's not to mention the fact that LeBron shoots very well on jumpshots. A 45% shooter from 15-23 feet is excellent.

Well, he wouldn't have had to face any zones back then, which would prevent him from standing around 25 ft from the hoop looking like a confused 6th grade player. So there's that.

He'd have a much easier time getting to the rim, and once there he'd be a better finisher because of his strength and height. Even his jumper now is great, so there would be nothing they can do.
And even the high pace would favour him since he's an excellent fast break player. It's not even the fact that he's LeBron, but more so that the 80's physicality gets crazy overrated by everyone.

Bro, I've seen enough clips where they did the same back in those days. They sent more illegal zones (which didn't get called on sometimes), but they also collapsed on players too.

You're overlooking the impact that the liberal hand checking rules had on keeping perimeter players from penetrating.
Also, the assumption that the 80's players would be smaller due to nutrition/training, but LeBron would be the same size/speed as today is flawed.
He'd have been a PF in the 80's, and not a very good one with his abyssmal low post game.

We'll agree to disagree here on both accounts here. You should check out some more games and clips (not that I am questioning how much you have watched back on your previous history you missed out on, as have I).
LeBron would be a great player in any era, I agree. But there have been games where he has prove otherwise that his mental games isn't there with actual talent and skill set.
For example, 2011 Finals. I know it's been driven to death, but if a big flaw was shown during those finals about LeBron it's that he is passive. With the defense allowed to be more physical, what make me think that LeBron does not second guess himself going to the paint? Where's his mentality going to be once he gets hammered more by physical big men? No 3 seconds in the paint? Actual centers waiting in the paint to block his shot?
Also, he would not have some of the physical gifts he does now back then because of different era's.

I agree.
There's also other things LeBron is missing right now that wouldn't help him back in the 80's: off the ball game, offensive rebounding (for his size), and some basic basketball fundamentals.

Maybe not 'better', but this isn't a list of the 'best' as much as it is a list of the 'greatest' players of all-time.
Luke Ridnour might be better than Bob Cousy, but do you think we should vote for Ridnour about Cousy? Of course not.
Rick Barry won a championship and made more All-League teams and more All-Star games than LeBron. He also scored more points.

Is that why he scored 29 of his team's last 30 points against the Pistons in the 4th quarter and OT in the ECF when he was 22 years old and basically a one-man team?
