1. Hello - View the source page and follow the link you find there.

3. Bravo - Type "home" instead of "typeithere" in the URL
4. Duck - Just click the word Go.
5. Where Are We - The coordinates are for Winnipeg. The source page tells you to replace wherearewe.html in the URL with your answer (that is, Winnipeg) and the file extension .php
6. Poem - The password is Found.
7. Painting - Click continue, then replace "winnipeg in the URL" with "lasmeninas", that is the title of that painting by Diego Velazquez (the hint is his name in the source page).

Ah, I got it by process of elimination, looked back and that was the only thing I could think of to come to the answer, but I guess that's not quite it either. That was my theory, but checking on it now, there's 5 states in that sentence, but one is the right one.

needed a little help on "is this more challenging" to get here as I initially was looking through the wrong types of mug shots and was getting blanks when trying to put the mug number in but once I got that I was really amused to see what the answer was.

I think I am on the right path on this current one and have found where the poem is from and what the title of the page references but am having some trouble figuring out the connection

Ok. White text, something about the video.

I found the painting with the blue eggs.
It's by Cari Humphry, a lesser known (at least, I guess from her prices) artist from Arkansas.
It's called Adam's Nest.
You can buy it for a bunch of dollars online.

Still, all of this could be meaningless. Maybe they just needed an image of blue eggs and randomly picked that one from the web.

I've Googled almost everything imaginable. "What Killed Constantine F. Newell", "Constantine F. Newell" and "Constantine F. Newell Death". The most popular place I get taken by a link is a Google book about Charleston, MA. And by straightforward do you mean it's nota trick answer? you're missing a 5 at the end of that number sequence.

in the page info it says the end is sometimes cut off and to play it a few times to see it. it also says that is not a "clue" it really does that.

which it does.

i cant get any use from the 5 though :(

i've tried the numbers as they correspond to the alphabet. i just split up the high numbers - 57 becomes 5, 7 for example. so e and g.

maybe it's two words with the stop sign representing a space.

i also want to play the video in reverse. sounds like perhaps it's a voice recording played backwards.

no idea about the images.

so far i think my efforts are pretty shoddy. good work on the eggs.

I stumbled across that forum earlier today in one of my Google searches but it didn't have the answer for the video at the time. Got it now. Is there another one past that? Because I get to the next page and it just says "I'm actually impressed" and doesn't give me anything to click on to continue. Or is "I'm actually impressed" the riddle?

And after finding the answer it actually does become one of those "duh" moments. It really isn't anymore difficult than the others in my opinion. Just a hint for the other people still trying to figure it out: Pay attention to just the numbers and Google is your friend.

So apparently on level 7 of Cipher you have to do some image manipulation. Something about the exposure. I don't have Photoshop and read where GIMP (Google Images Manipulator) would work also, but I don't want to download it if I don't have to. So if someone else figures it out, either PM me or put it in white text.

Apparently there's an actual word hidden in the picture that reveals itself after you manipulate the image.

Don't know about gimp, but this should probably help you out: http://download.cnet.com/Color-Detector/3000-2192_4-10396800.html

Sounds as if you are on the right track though....

Wow, really?? I was typing out another question and as I did it hit me.

Stephanie, have you got past the "wanna hear a good joke" level, yet? I just got to level 12. How many away am I from that one?

I've found this site to be really helpful. It's got a lot of different "tools" that can be really helpful with something like this.

http://www.purplehell.com/riddletools/

On to level 13....I see the dates in the source code, but what am I supposed to do with them? I feel like this should be an easy level but I've been working on this off-and-on all day and I think I'm getting a little fried.

"wanna hear a good joke" was part of a rabbit hole... am on 12 now, but going to have to stop for the evening.

I'm on level four right now.

And stuck...hint?

I don't remember each individual level. If you get stuck, then post a link to the level.

On level 13 now. I'll post the link even though that's just going to allow anyone else to skip the 1st eleven levels.

Oh, I guess send the link via PM then.

Edited to make it less of a hint. Check the white:

you have to go down the Friday the 13th route, and no, nothing about the movie

KG215
12-01-2011, 10:17 PM
I found all the Friday the 13th's in those years but, honestly, have no idea what to do with them. Are these right? And if so, what am I supposed to do with them?

White text

5/13/1949 (M)
4/13/1984 (A)
12/13/1946 (D)
5/13/1955 (M)
8/13/1937 (A)
3/13/1981 (F)

It doesn't hep that there's three 1st's and two 2nd's. I feel like maybe the first letters of those months should make a word but maybe I have the wrong months, because I can't think of a word containing these letters (white text): M A D M A F

KG215

Never mind, got it, even though I don't think it's an actual word I got to level 14. I'm not even hearing any words in the wav file. Just like a whoosh/whirring sound that gets a little louder.

I think you're supposed to speed it up, but I couldn't speed it up fast enough in Windows Media Player, so I just skipped it. Maybe you're supposed to play it backwards, too.

KG215
12-01-2011, 10:50 PM
I think you're supposed to do both since "hurryup" is spelled backwards in the url but I have no idea how to do that with any of the Windows media devices. I found out how to play it a little faster on vlc media player but have no idea how to play it backwards.

You can do it on audacity, but I'd just go on to 15. I liked 15 in the end.

I figured out what the symbols mean but don't know what to do with it. I Googled base64 and know it's some sort of ASCII type language but I have no idea what i'm supposed to be "decoding" or whatever now.

"This is an easy one", is that sarcasm?
I can't figure it out.
I assume YOU are asking the question and I now know something about your life (how did that thing vs the conservative finish? :D) but Aurora, Colorado, or similar solutions don't work.
Or is the ibex asking that question? :D

A hint?

It's not totally sarcasm, the first one is the easiest of the three that I put up. It's not me asking the question -- and don't forget to use all the clues available to you.

Oh, and in the end the dude who sued basically cried like a little girl and dropped the suit. :)

Re: level 15 (in white): I was able to convert the text file to a .bin file (i think it's an image; there's something about a cannon powershot in the metadata) but i don't know how to load/view the image? i don't have roxio toast or anything. hrm.

Nevermind. was totally overthinking. sheesh.

Sometimes the easiest ones give me the most trouble because I tend to over-think/over-analyze them... Can you give me a nudge?

KG215
12-02-2011, 04:57 PM
I've Googled Ibex and there's an Alpine Ibex with several subspecies. From what I could find it seems like the Alpine is the "original" Ibex. There's also the Spanish Ibex that is believed (along with the Alpine) evolved from something in the Pleistocene.

I have no idea what any of that means and if it even pertains to the riddle. I'm probably WAY over-thinking it. I'm trying to figure out all possible ways any of that can tie into "Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet?"

It took me forever to figure I was supposed to decode the .txt file. I spent forever trying to figure out with the picture after I figured out the font on the image.

Stephanie, have you figured out level 16 yet?

White text: I figured out K311, K282, etc. were Mozart compositions and figured out you had to find what key they were played in and it ended up spelling "decaf". Got to the next part and fond the keys for for S244/2, D566, and and WoO1O/2. And the get CGE. That obviously doesn't make a word, so I don't know if there's another composition I'm missing or what?

I figured, but gotta hint where I'm supposed to get the other pieces from?

And that DECAF/CFD wasn't supposed to be in my last post. I was just typing out the letters as I found the piece and its note and forgot to erase them. :hammerhead:
