With the rumors of McRoberts for Mayo deal popping back up this all makes sense.

Replace McRoberts (and upgrade on him hugely) by getting West. Then get Mayo.

Indiana:
Collison/Hill/Stephenson
George/Mayo/Jones
Granger/Rush
West/Hansbrough
Hibbert

Haven't been a big supporter of bringing West in, but at 2/$20 I'd love it. Then turn McBob, who was leaving anyway, into Mayo, and I'll buy Larry a beer.

Pacers are going to make a run at the 5th-6th seed depending on if Dwight is in the East or not, IMO if David West shows he was the same David West as last year.

How do you think Dwest and Hibbert will play together?Offensively it should be really nice. Hansbrough's been developing the patented West midrange J but isn't anywhere near consistent with it. Now West can help unclog the lane a bit and give Roy some room to operate. Should really help Hibbert a lot.

The other end there won't be much improvement, still gonna have trouble on the boards and with athletic bigs. But can't have everything.

Amazing move by Indiana. I thought they were gonna have to throw a four year deal at him to get it done. I think West probably took a little less so they could add a little more.

If they pick up Mayo too that team could jump ahead of Atlanta and Orlando to the 4/5th seed (depending on NY/Boston, who I think they're still under). A three guard rotation of Hill-Collison-Mayo is amazing while the three big rotation of West-Hibbert-Hansborough (with Foster too) is even better. They just need to make sure Granger keeps up his scoring.

Tell me when I'm wrong. Should I be excited about a one legged West propelling us to the 6 or 7 seed? Just being a small market in the NBA realist.

On the bright side most of our guys are somewhat above average, they're tryhards, and we don't have to watch Troy Murphy give up career high rebounds to the other team's frontcourt every night. And no more JOB.

I think the Pacers were smart getting a vet who can help these young core take the next step. West gives them the scorer they lacked up front and allows Hibbert to be what comes naturaly and thats to control the keyway. This is a very good get and gves their frontcourt a great balance. They are probaly now a top 6 team in the east

Miami
Bulls
Celtics
Knicks

Are the top 4 but after that Atlanta, Pacers, Bucks and improving Philly are all in a logjam.

Well played.

Indiana just feels like a really well balanced team to me now, with mayo even more so. Youth with potential to grow in the starters and bench players, lots of flexibility to change lineups to rest guys in this tight season plus develop them all.
The front office has been doing one hell of a job.

indeed. west will provide veteran leadership as well - true professional. on top of that, they've been shedding some bad contracts over the last couple seasons. of course, this wouldn't happen at all if JO'N weren't balking about being traded but shrewd move nonetheless. if mayo shows up, that'll take some pressure off granger but i have to tip my hat to them so far.

After watching many pacers games last season, I'm so happy that he didn't sign with the Cs.

Dude's a lazy bummer on the floor especially on the offesive end. Instead of moving, he'll just stand on the mid-range and wait for someone to pass the ball to him and he'll jack it up :oldlol: . He doesn't give any effort to box out for an offensive rebound at least.
