MIAMI -- Tucked away on a one-way street in a small industrial area of South Miami, in between construction companies and electrical supply stores, lies TERF Athletic Facility, an elite training ground for personalized sports fitness programs that specialize in core development.
Its founder, Ed Downs, a U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee who has previously worked with Navy Seals, wanted his gym to be unassuming to shed his celebrity clients from public attention. In the past, Downs, a trainer to the pros for more than 20 years, has consulted with NBA, NFL and MLB stars including Alonzo Mourning, Carlos Boozer, Alex Rodriquez, Baron Davis, LaMarr Woodley, Tim Hardaway, Jamal Mashburn and Penny Hardaway.
But when Downs opened TERF on Oct. 4, he never imagined just a month later that sports

If LeBron is at 265 and regains some of that lateral movement and explosiveness he had a couple years ago, Miami will dominate. Having Wade coming in supposedly revamping his game and getting stronger and I'm super excited to see how they play in year 2. Having Bosh bulk up and apparently willing to play more 5 this season and you have a Heat trio that really wants it. If anything, it's good to see these guys addressing their conditioning and exploring ways to stay ahead of the competition physically.

Just hope the brand of ball they play is a little more crisp. Spoelstra should implement some more triangle.

It's called PED water gut and is caused by massive amounts of water gain due to taking PEDs. Your body fat can be extremely low and you will still have this gut, since you are taking massive amounts of HGH.
I thought this was common knowledge?

He's either 6-3 or 6-4 barefoot with about a 6-11 to 7-0 wingspan. Believe it or not, 231 pounds is pretty damn small for that sized body frame.

What you are referring to is "roidgut." HGH causes your internal organs to grow, specifically the intestines. Really disgusting and irreversable.

No it's not small for that sized frame. It is large for that sized frame. Not huge, but far above average and large for that frame.
I'm 6'6 or about 6'5 and a half bare foot and weigh 230 pounds. My wingspan is 6'8 (I'm white). I am a big person, and wade is 2-3 inches shorter. Wade is a large person, not "pretty damn small for that frame".

HGH causes your organs to grow, but it, along with other PEDs also cause a lot of water gain.
You can actually have low body fat, a ripped stomach, and not have organs that are over-sized due to PED use and still have that bloated stomach.
because it causes water gain to the abdomen.
One way or the other, when you see these guys with defined stomachs, and they look like they work out and all of that, yet they have that gut..........it means they do use PEDs of several different types probably.
Of course, most NBA fans are so delusional that they will argue and deny this. Even though it's just a simple physiological fact. T-Mac is one of the most obvious NBA players that has this actually.

So yeah, 231 seems pretty damn small to me for his size frame.

Truth. Both Wade's and Lebron's bf% are listed wayyy too low. Along with Amare saying he is 2%. It's unbelievable these professional athletes and professional trainers have no idea about bf%. Wade/Lebron and Amare would all be closer to 8 percent bodyfat, which is still low for an athlete in an aerobic sport.

OK, if you are so credentialed where did you get your medical degree from? I see patients every single day- many of them athletes (espcially while I'm on my sports medicine rotation). These guys (the big 3) are sub 7% at a minimum. Bodybuilders are not dehydrated the day of their show due to an abnormally low body fat percentage. They compete in a "physique sport" not a "performance sport" therefore they use diuretics to enhance the APPEARANCE of their physique on stage. Again, please leave the physiology/pathophys discussions to those of us who have invested a great deal of our lives to studying the human body.

FWIW....I think Kobe is closer to 220. He's gotten older and looks to have put some weight on in the last few years. Either way, the reason why he does so good in the post against bigger guys is because of his lower body strength. I remember hearing his trainer Tim Grover talking about how hard he works to keep his lower body strength up. If you can do that, then it really doesn't matter how big the defender is. You will always have a chance if you are patient and keep working it.

It's not as much the bodyfat thing as the point that the facts in the article are fictional. Why make up false facts? Or why has this professional trainer got no grasp of bodyfat %? I generally like facts in articles to be factually correct. Of course they are lean as hell, but give real figures not obviously incorrect stats.

Yes obviously they have had more time to workout and played longer into the season. So they're in better shape. Last season they spent most of their summer traveling as opposed to working out due to free agency. Bosh's season ended early and had his face smashed in preventing him from working out resulting in him having to play himself into shape and losing muscle. Dwyane wade's season ended in the 1st round also and he tends to peak mid season anyways while playing himself into shape 1st month ish. Lebron spent the most time travelling around as he was the most coveted FA. I have no doubt they will come in this time with more focus, awe and will be in better shape thus improving previously built chemistry. I can't wait.

for anybody else.. yes.. i would agree... but for Lebron he can afford it imo... with that size he can move better than anybody in NBA history could at that size... plus he is now officially finetuning his post game and is ready to implement it very much and perfect it over the course of the games... it will all be good!
if he drops some muscles to like 240 lbs that would make him even more quicker but i dont see how that would help him so much unless he decides to officially play Point-Guard or something.....
