depends on how they fill out the rest of the roster with FA's

SpecialQue

No. This team's a joke. The NBA needs to get rid of this team and the Hornets, since nobody wants to watch any of their crappy-ass games.

MJ led the charge to limit players' salaries, so some free agents are giving the Bobcats the cold shoulder.

Yes, they were decent at one point when they had Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson, who are legitimate NBA players.

When they traded way for cap space, do you think they still were even remotely close to the same team.

As I said in the other thread if your going to be bad anyway, its better to be completely horrible than just be a few games under .500.

Looks like Cho finally convinced the rest of the front office that.

Yeah. He can't practice with the team and his season is in doubt. Trial in Spain is scheduled for 12-19 I believe. But even if he does get to play, he's a very raw athlete who's gonna need time and coaching to develop.

Damn, I was really interested to see how they would develop him from day one. I understand he is going to be quite a project, but I cant be the only one who wants to see him swat a shot into the stands and hear the commentators "monster block by Biyombo" or something along those lines :oldlol:

Don't get me wrong, I like UPS but he's not the answer to our problems.

I have season tx so I will be there. It'll be fun seeing Kemba and DJ battle it out but we're not winning many. My best hope is that Kemba proves to be the real deal and that Biyombo gets to play and develop.

What an absolutely horrible roster.
Bismack may not even play for the Bobcats this year.

I understand teams being bad. One year the Hawks won 13 games, but we played younger players and got them to develop - Smith, Childress, Pachulia.

This is about half of a legitimate NBA roster and half of a CBA level roster.

Devistated. I understand it from a point where we were approaching the luxury tax with a team that was 1st round playoffs at best. MJ blew it up. I'm hoping the draft and FA this summer give us hope but I'm starting to think MJ is just a cheap ass.

12-15-2011, 01:35 PM
In a half-hour interview, Jordan said he's grudgingly accepted team vice chairman Curtis Polk's lean toward strategic planning. That means fewer impulsive moves and more effort to conserve space under the salary cap for the summers of 2012 and 2013 and beyond.

That likely means a team this season that will struggle to contend. They're remarkably young, built around two rookies (Kemba Walker and the yet-unsigned Bismack Biyombo) and three veterans 25 or younger (Tyrus Thomas, D.J. Augustin and Gerald Henderson). Though the playoffs are a long shot, Jordan grimaced Wednesday when he said the following:

"Does that mean we have to get a high draft pick this year? I don't know - I'm afraid to admit to that."

I understand MJ is trying to save money and a team is a business, I just don't understand how he can tolerate owning a losing team. Isn't this the same hypercompetitive guy who would convince himself other players were disrespecting him to motivate himself?

Yeah I feel the same way. I think he realizes that in a small market you have to do the things OKC did (reason he hired Rich Cho) and build through the draft, accumulate cap space and then go after some FAs. He still has that competitiveness imo. That's why he fired Larry Brown and blew the team up. He wasn't satisfied with just being a 1st round playoff team.

I agree he is doing this the right way trying to build though the draft but it was frustrating losing Crash for basically nothing. Just have to be patient I guess.

We're bringing him back to fill out the roster!

These are MJ's Bobcats 1st round picks:

Morrison
Augustin
Ajinca
Henderson
Walker
Biyombo

Morrison was a bust. Ajinca was Larry Brown's late 1st round project that still might develop on someone's roster. Walker and Biyombo are rookies and Augustin and Henderson are starters. Other than Ammo the cats picked pretty much the best player available at spots from which they were picking.

If you're referring to tonight (and not the loss earlier in the season), I don't want to win or play any starters except maybe STAT (so he can get some more reps, but no more than 20 min). We still have a chance at playing Chicago if we lose and Philly wins. Not likely because even with a third string line up of: Douglas-Bibby-Landry-Novak-Jorts/Gadz we could beat this pathetic team.

How depressing is it that if we beat Charlotte earlier this season (or recently Cleveland), we would have the #6 seed..... :coleman: :coleman:
