I know he won the award dumbass but he didnt earn it.

The league gifted it to him just like his 2008 MVP trophy because he is one of Sterns poster boys and he makes the league and LA lots of $$$$.

They are promoting their star it doesn't matter that Gasol was clearly better then Kobe in the playoffs and the Finalz.

Kind of how Kobe got All-Defense 1st team award in 2010 and 2011 even though everyone with half a brain knows he didn't deserve it.

Anyway get back on your Knee's b*** Kobe is waiting for you.

Great series against the Suns.

Just ****ing unstopbale. Great player, that 40 point game and the 38 on 65% shooting was amazing.

However, as an NBA fan as much as I appreciate Kobe, I just cannot get past his awfull game 7 performance and him being bailed by Gasol.

Gasol keeping them in the game, grabbing every offensive rebound he can get. He even had like 2 game breaking offensive rebounds in the clutch giving the Lakers a chance to come back in the game and seal the deal.

I am not looking for no flame.

But I remember Kobe comment on his game 7 performance where he said "Sometimes you want to win so badly that things don't go your way ""

If Lebron said that he would have been called a choker. Because Kobe said that, he must be the GOD and he wanted to win TOO damn much that's why he played bad.

Either way, he was the finals MVP but not by a big margin

Triple double?

That game is debatable I suppose but I thought Gasol was better due to his all around game and defense.

Gasol had much better All-Around Production that game and imo was just more impactful/valuable to the team.
However Kobe did score more and was more efficient.

Hard one.. and close but I chose Gasol and I still keep my opinion the same.

Gasil shot 6/16 with 7/13 from the ft line. How is that keeping the Lakers in the game? Yes, he grabbed 18 rebounds, but Kobe added 15 (4 off) of his own, and he made all of the clutch free throws too.

I thought Artest was actually the best player out of the three that day. But overall, it was Kobe >>>>> Gasol in that series.

You really think 6/24 is = to 6/16??? wow.. :lol

There is no debate who was the best player in that game or who had the better game between him and Kobrick.

Gasol also scored 5 Points, had 3 rebounds and a huge Block on Paul Pierce in the Final 3 minutes single handedly winning the game and series for LA and preventing Boston from tying the game or taking the lead while Kobe was watching in awe and sh**** his pants.

Kobe didn't play "awful"....

His shot was off point...he still played great nearly everywhere else on the floor except at finishing his shot.

and in crunchtime he made huge shots and rebounded in traffic...

and the Lakers WON the most important game of his life...

Lebron played awful and lost.....again

What about where there was 6 minutes left with the game tied at 64 where Kobe did nearly EVERYTHING for the Lakers to get them a go-ahead 6 point lead that they would never lose?

5:56 64-64 Kobe Bryant defensive rebound
5:56 64-65 Kobe Bryant makes free throw 1 of 2
5:56 64-66 Kobe Bryant makes free throw 2 of 2
5:35 64-66 Kobe Bryant defensive rebound
5:22 64-68 Kobe Bryant makes 17-foot two point shot
5:00 64-68 Kobe Bryant defensive rebound
4:37 64-69 Pau Gasol makes free throw 1 of 2
4:37 64-70 Pau Gasol makes free throw 2 of 2
4:16 64-70 Kobe Bryant defensive rebound

Not to mention Gasol missed like 5 FTs in the 4th quarter.

What about Kobe doing nothing in the Final 3 Minutes while Gasol single handedly kept the lead for LA and prevented Boston from tying the game or taking the lead by scoring 5 Points, grabbing 3 Rebounds and getting a "HUGE" block on Paul Pierce which would have been an easy layup.

Fixed.
You pathetic Kobe Stan.

Gasol had the much better game and the much better 4th Quarter.
He was 10x more Clutch.

Both scored 9-10 points in the 4th but Gasol did the majority of his Damage in the Final 3 Minutes when Kobe went silent.

I watched the game more then once and I also watched it live.

Gasol was by far the best player in that game and the most Clutch player in the 4th Quarter.

You are one of the biggest Kobe Stans on this board so I dont expect you to see things logically since all your views and opinions are based on a Kobe centric universe where he is always the best and can do no wrong.

Fixed.
You pathetic Kobe Stan.
GTFO

:facepalm

Gasol had the much better game and the much better 4th Quarter.
He was 10x more Clutch.

Both scored 9-10 points in the 4th but Gasol did the majority of his Damage in the Final 3 Minutes when Kobe went silent.

Two free throws were on a play 100% from Kobe's playmaking, 1 offensive rebound was because of terrible rotation from the Celtics where f*cking Rondo was guarding Gasol, and one of the rebounds was when the game was already decided.

F*ck outta here, troll.

Just so you know, that's still a shitty thing, so don't say it like you're proud of yourself or something.

OP, why did you get this guy^ started?

LOL @ Pegasus doing exactly what I said he'd do in another thread; your analysis of any other player uses solely stats yet when it comes to Kobe you disregard them.

Anyway, can someone make a video of all of Kobe's rebounds in that game 7? I'd love to see how much they impacted the game. (serious question as I don't remember them specifically, just the end of the game where I saw he had that many).

Most of them were just Easy Defensive Rebounds that were never in danger of being lost to the Celtics.

Kobetards just need an excuse since it was one of the worst G7 performances ever.

No I watched them just had a better understanding of the game and that's why we see it different. The fact that you rate Gasol over Kobe based on his stats is comical. On top of that a true measure of a winner and a mvp is hw he preforms in the losses. Notice how you won't speak on those? Where was Gasol on the road in the finals? Not being a factor for sure.

To all those posting statistics to argue Kobe didn't play well, do you know what statistical test of significance is? That's fundamental part of statistics, used in all fields for data analysis. This stuff being posted on this thread are just numbers being used out of contest.

How does this test for significance account for game 7? Well Kobe's rebound total has p value of less than .05. Meaning, getting 15 rebounds in that particular game is not something that just occurred by random chance. He made a serious significant effort and change in game style. And knowing that the team who got more rebounds won every game of the series, which was heavily discussed, and the out come of this very gritty game, that is impressive.

Wahhh Kobe got 15 Rebounds thats crazy best Game 7 ever.. cmon when Jordan get 15 rebounds?

Most of those rebounds were easy defensive rebounds that were never in danger of becoming turnovers.

The idea that using statistics in your arguments means you didn't watch the games is just straight retarded.

I watched all the 2010 LA Playoff Games except maybe one or two from the OKC series and I combine that experience with statistics to judge who was most valuable to the team (LA).

:facepalm

The people who usually beg and plead to avoid the statistics are the ones who have no argument to back up their position/opinions and hope if people ignore the statistics they can just bullshit and claim they are correct.

5:56 64-64 Kobe Bryant defensive rebound
5:56 64-65 Kobe Bryant makes free throw 1 of 2
5:56 64-66 Kobe Bryant makes free throw 2 of 2
5:35 64-66 Kobe Bryant defensive rebound
5:22 64-68 Kobe Bryant makes 17-foot two point shot
5:00 64-68 Kobe Bryant defensive rebound
4:37 64-69 Pau Gasol makes free throw 1 of 2
4:37 64-70 Pau Gasol makes free throw 2 of 2
4:16 64-70 Kobe Bryant defensive rebound

First of all, what are you talking about? I didn't say anything about the series. I just talked about Kobe's game 7 performance. Second, I didn't say anything about looking at statistics only, I just said if you are going to use stats then use it right don't go around posting PER (which is a formula that is full of arbitrary constants and makes little mathematical sense. And before you say anything about that, I have emailed Hollinger a bunch of times about his use of statistics and he has never replied.) Third I am pretty sure you don't play basketball that much because of this logic, "Most of those rebounds were easy defensive rebounds that were never in danger of becoming turnovers."

I am well aware that a guy 40some years ago won the MVP from a losing team. Congrats. Logo was great that series. So what.

:facepalm

So you baulk at measuring players through the whole series instead of just the wins and say that's not how you measure a finals mvp. Then when i bring up an MVP winner from a losing team, you say so what? :facepalm

Funny how everyone forgets Artest's G7.

He was the one keeping LA in the game. He finished it with that big 3 aswell.
Shows you the guy didn't even watch the series.

Only reason why I remembered it because I remember Phil saying that Artest was the MVP of game 7/the only reason they won that game tonight.

Yeah, it's the same dude. He has another profile on here bwink23(sounds a lot like B-rad from "Malibu's Most Wanted", doesn't it?!). The moron thinks he can fool people with TWO DIFFERENT PROFILES saying the exact same.:facepalm

Gasol was better in 4/7 games (the majority)
Gasol was better in 3/4 games won.

Is that not enough for you?

:facepalm

also :oldlol: @ Bigalows last comment what a moron. :lol
