ofcourse miami fans will be delusional about the fact. How are they supposedly going to get better, when there all declining in stats. Also is that it for the heat team? LOL at them winning a championship, with 2 superstars and the rest scrubs.

I'm not even a Heat fan, but these are some of the most skewed statistics I've ever seen. First, by only presenting 3 years of data for certain players, yet 4 years worth of data for others, it simulates a larger drop off to support your argument. Then, its lacking many other important statistics true basketball fans want to see like Shooting %, Usage Rate, True Shooting %, etc. By simply presenting Points, Rebounds, and Assists, you are not accounting for the fact that, until last season, LeBron, DWade, and Bosh were the focal point of their own individual teams and are now attempting to assimilate into a different role.

I'd be happier if all the Big 3 were around 20 PPG, like Boston's Big 3 were. That would mean some of the rest of the team is stepping up. Your numbers SHOULD go down on a team with 3 all-stars versus being the man.

Let younger, hungrier squads like the Celtics and Lakers take it. ;)

how are they skewed? every player has a peak and start declining in stats...some of the players have decline 4+ years. Really doesnt matter what year i began with, you can still conclude they are declining. And yes the old "they have to share the ball with one another" that doesnt explain the 2 years before they assembled that shows they were declining.

First of all. How could the Miami Heat "decline". They have only been together ONE SEASON. LOLDUMASS

Second of all. When you put 3 superstars (or 2.5) on the same team, of course there will be lower numbers for each individual..

because individually they were declining already? dumbass? or wait by your standard of belief that if you put a team of players that are declining there most likely going to get better.

Oh god that epic excuse by heat fans again. That excuse is valid for 1 season. theres 3-4 seasons of stats.

quick ex

in cleveland, LBJ was getting 20+ attempts cos he was "the man". with miami, he can't get as many attempts because he has to share with wade, bosh, etc so OBVIOUSLY his numbers are going to go down (fewer touches). same with wade and bosh and the other guys

i know you're trolling and thank me for feeding you. at least i increased my post count and got near 1K posts!

This is the worst thread ever. Rose won't even average over 20 ppg if he plays with Bosh, Wade or LeBron. Wade and LeBron actually finished in top 5 in scoring at the end of the 2010-2011 NBA Season. Miami are gonna sweep the Bulls in the playoffs.

The OP has discovered diminishing returns. Or he thinks three 30 point scorers should combine for 90 every game. Not sure...

Ok obviously there are diminishing returns as mentioned whenever you combine three 30 point scorers onto one team. But at the same time, you can't totally discredit the OP for using statistics to make a prediction. Every potential Heat starter besides possibly Norris Cole has statistically dropped off over the last three years. The big three have been together for one year. There is in fact a downward trend in stats for every significant player on the Heat's roster. Not saying I agree that it is predictive for this season, or that the trend will continue in the same direction, but at the very least it is interesting and doesn't deserve a bunch of :facepalm responses.
