LOL, ironically, the North Pole is right in the motherland's backyard, and Santa flys over them down to New Zealand and hocks a loogie down on them sum beeches from his slay equipped with JBL's knockin' the new JMT.

Nah man, different cultures have different ways of mourning. A lot of Asian cultures, especially non-"modernized" ones tend to be more dramatic and public like this. The crying and gnashing of teeth sort of behavior is mentioned in the bible even. It's an ancient form of human mourning, if that makes any sense.

As for feeling sad? It's not fake, these people have just been brainwashed.

It sucks dude but what can you do about it? We'll see what happens in the next month or two.

Its not as faked as you might think.

Scary thing about North Korea is this: for every North Korean who risks life and limb to get across the border and report on the crazy antics and atrocities going on within the borders, there are a few thousand who 100% believe everything that government tells them.

The people there have no political compass. No internet access. No access to media or literature of any kind that isn't manufactured exclusively by the Kim family's political apparatus. They have no idea what the rest of the world is like...they're told from birth "You exist because the Dear Leader loves you so. Everything that exists is thanks to his love for you. This is paradise on Earth and everyone who doesn't live here is jealous of you and wants to take everything our Dear Leader gives us away from you."

Sad as it is, a whole load of the people in these images and videos are being completely authentic.

How is that the same? Japan has a high suicide rate too. It's because their cultures have sick pressure on work, on life, etc. And they are not supposed to show it outwards, so you explode inward.

How that equates to being brainwashed due to total lack of media is beyond me. In either country, they sure as hell don't have a sick devotion to their leaders. They are both super critical of their leaders.

I seriously don't think it is staged. People in North Korea when born are taught that Kim Jong-Il is sort of a god. They believe he was born on some sacred mountain in North Korea, foretold by swallows or something. And also this is in Pyongyang, where seriously many don't have a clue about the famine in the rural areas of the countries. Thus he is believed to be a good leader by most in Pyongyang.

The people there have almost no access to international television. Some have managed to access South-Korean television but they believe that it is just state propaganda like they are used to.

Suicide and Asians is a tricky thing. Culturally, suicide isn't associated with the same kind of stigmas its attached to in western cultures.

South Koreans, at least the ones I've met, aren't all that much different from any Asian-American you'd meet. North Koreans...those are a much different breed due to their essentially brainwashed primary education.

I got a friend that was in S Korea, and he told me that if you( a native korean for instance) buy a product that was produced in a country other than S Korea you are consider a national traitor. Give me a bunch of other examples similiar to those. IMO people in S Korea and Japan have very rational and sick at the same time mentality. I was saying that S Korea are brainwashe the way in N korea are, but there is something wrong with the mentality of the people of that region of the world.

My Country was under Socialiasm until 1989 (the year i was born). I have got the chance to taste that system and times, but compared to how people are living now and then, i think 30 years was better. People had jobs and the social envirioment was more secure and calm. Generally people felt happier than whats going in the present. Corruption and greed is killing the country. If N Korea for some reason change their system their people are going to have extremely hard time adjusting and catching up. And yes its true the system(our system in Bulgaria) kept people disinformed about a lot of things. And i assume the same goes for the other socialist systesm throughout the globe.

If you were born years before, at the times of Cervenkov, then you wouldn't be saying this, I am sure.

Chervenkov was only the beginning of the era in Bulgaria. He was replaced by the Moscow puppet Todor Shzivkov who ruled to the end of the regime. And im pretty sure life from the mid 60s to the mid 80s was much happier and pleasent for people in my country. I am not talking only of my relatives experience. 3/4 of the pensioners in the country would love the to have the old times back.

Freedom is very subjective term. You are right to some point. There are many law restriction nowadays. Do you feel free? Because i dont. There also are also other constrains i am facing. I guess i know that the average monthly salary in Bulgaria is about 300 euro..
