I think this might be a cool way to have more interaction in the Boston Celtics forum. We can vote for the game MVP after every game and then see who the best player was after the season. I'll log each game date with the link to the boxscore as well.

Rajon Rondo [5]
Ray Allen [3]
Paul Pierce [3]
Greg Stiemsma [1]
Jermaine O'Neal [1]

Rondo, certainly.

Tough loss in Miami tonight, we had a breakdown in execution down the stretch.

I think the candidates tonight obviously are Rondo and Ray. Ray was on fire all game, hitting 6 of his 8 three's. He had a key offensive rebound in the 4th and two key assists down the stretch. Rondo was the only player on the floor that seemed to play all 48 minutes. He was our only offense for the first 1.5 quarters and ran the offense exceptionally well until the 4th where he seemed to disappear both offensively and defensively. He was the only player driving it to the hole as well. He had three very bad turnovers in the fourth quarter, two which led to points for Miami.

I'd say It's closer than people think but Ray made the plays when they mattered. My vote is for Ray.

12-28-2011, 12:12 AM
Rondo. He played very well in the first half when he attacked the basket mercilessly, but in the 4th he kinda shrunk and made a few key turnovers. Nonetheless he played the best among the Celtics however it is much closer than it seems as Dooling, Allen deserves a shout out too

Kevin_Garnett_5
12-28-2011, 12:22 AM
Tough loss, but at least we know we can hang with some of the best teams even without Pierce.

I give my vote to Rondo, he's played at a superstar level for 2 straight games. Hopefully he keeps this up.

Game 1 - Do i even need to say? Rondo of course

and for game 2 well this one is tough between Ray and Rondo and Dooling deserves a shoutout, he hit a whole mess of momentum changing shots tonight. aaah Can i split between Ray and Rondo? If not then i'll have to take...damn this is tough lol. I'll go with Ray tonight, even though Wade was eating his food for most of the first half

ballup
12-28-2011, 01:09 AM
Game 1 - Rondo

Game 2 - Watched parts of the game, but didn't look at it too closely. I felt that Allen brought some momentum back for the Celtics, but Rondo has a better overall statline. I think Rondo made a little too many mistakes, especially that pass to Dooling that easily got picked off, so my vote goes for Ray.

I say Ray too - vintage shooting performance. Rondo was great overall but also erratic at times.

Shade8780

vs. Knicks - Rondo obviously

vs. Heat - It's a really tough decision between Rondo and Ray but.... gotta go with Rondo. 22 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds. Dammit I love that man, pause. Keyon Dooling played spectacular as well. Hit some clutch threes and put the lead to three points, walking out with 18.

I honestly can come to terms that we will be a 6th seed. With PP we can beat New York...Who i think we will be facing in the 1st round again, but once again either Chicago or MIA will beat us in 5-6 games.

We need a Nick Young/Crawford type SG or a David West/Boozer type post player...KG is done.

My MVP is Rondo for the most part with Paul Pierce as unsung hero

You didn't miss much.

Anyway, that match was an embarrassment for us. Nobody really deserves the MVP of the game but if I had to decide, it'd be Greg Stiemsma. 6 blocks ain't bad. Can't wait for PP to come back though. Hopefully the C's will come back strong against Detroit.

Game 2: Ray Ray

Killbot
12-31-2011, 06:47 AM
Ehh....I was thinking Pierce at first for establishing the lead and giving the Celtics energy, but that was expected of him.

JO's or Bass' performance were more impressive. Oy, it's pretty tough. Bass' 17 points off the bench with some good defense or JO's 19/7 that brought momentum in carrying out the big lead. I'd hate to delay what Bass' value means to the Celtics team, but I think JO had a slight more impact.

Close between Garnett and Pierce, but I pick Pierce mainly because of his aggressiveness on offense. Although some shots didn't go in, he had the right mentality. I think Garnett became passive in the 2nd half or got away from the post at least. Can't really judge 2nd half as well as the 1st.
