Lin is no worse than many players in the league.

I cringe at players like Earl Watson and heck even Kwame who managed to stick in the league for many years.

At least with Lin, you get a bargain. He only costs the minimum salary of $470K.

Meanwhile scrubs like Luke Walton, Gadzuric, and Adam Morrison wasted over $4 mil/year each.

Who do you think has more intelligence: Lin or Gilbert Arenas?

Who do you think has more intelligence: Lin or Gilbert Arenas?

off the court decisions...Lin has the edge. He's been pretty diplomatic in his answers about racism, he embraces the role of Asian American figure, and his Faith in God is a great way to project his image to the fans.

Arenas UUUHhhh....no need to say...

On the court decisions...Arenas has the edge for raw talent however he is just a chucker. Arenas' bball IQ isn't all that high. On the other hand, Jeremy Lin is cerebral and hustles on defense.

Lin makes better decisions off the court than Arenas does even on the court. he won't be a head case and will appreciate his roster spot much more than the washed up Arenas. Arenas is waiting for an opportunity to show his old self again by chucking too much even at the detriment of team chemistry. He's a head case.

Verdict = Lin is better as a player on the Knicks roster.

The Knicks are not signing Arenas because they have sources that told them he is not ready to play as his knees are just that bad. Lin is better than Arenas right now because Lin can move and Arenas cannot.

Lin can move? how hard is it to move from one seat to the next as the actually guys who PLAY head towards the bench?

I mean you get up and move over one seat. Or you get up, and sit next to the ball boys/floor cleaners. I mean you get up and sit behind the seats where players who arent dressed up to play sit. You dont need great knees to do that.

He's going to play in the next few weeks. i get your joking ,because people are overrating the importance of this move to a ridiculous degree but we only have 3 healthy guards, and only 1 is a PG, and sometime i wonder about that. Lin will get minutes. Arenas can't move, signing a player who would immediately go join Bibby and Schumbert on the injured list makes no sense.

I'd actually like to see him do well. Be nice for an asian guard to be worth talkin about. I dont care much for Arenas.

I'd love for him to do well enough that we cut Bibby instead of him. With THE BOOM DIZZLE coming, we don't really need another slow veteran guard, a change of pace guy for when things are bad, and someone who can sit and never play and not mind work better. (i hope Baron is healthy, if he is he'll be great, he looked ready to jump out of his skin once the crowd started roaring on opening night. he looked so happy to be there. fingers crossed. a happy baron is a good baron).

No way you can facepalm ppl for calling out a guy for what he was. Prior to the last few games he was a scrub pretty much. I could dig up posts/blogs/articles from great basketball minds calling him a scrub. Further to that it seems pretty much most talent evaluators in the NBA thought he was a scrub.

its interesting that Nash sort of exploded in the same offense. Most people didn't think Nash was this massive improvement for the Suns, but he turned out to be one hell of a playmaker.

Nash certainly had a lot of game before, but he really took off once he had the freedom to run the point.
