Honestly, he is a good player and is fun to watch so far. Not gonna say a word about his status among the best shot blockers in the game but he is nice.

Bernie Nips

He's easily a top 5 bigman right now. He's got the sweet jumpshot, can pass like Magic and has quite comfortably the best block-per-minute ratio in the league.

He's like Kareem Abdul Jabbar crossed with Manute Bol.

He is currently the all-time leader in blocks per minute with 7.3 per 36.

He's making 2-3 blocks a game that regularly show up on HOF career highlight videos for guys like Wilt and Hakeem. A center, blocking shots on jump-shooter out on the wing.

So far he's been a pleasant surprise. He blocks shots. Might have lucked into a good replacement for Perk. Not as imposing but defending the basket at a high level so far. Also has shown signs of a jumper.

Jermaine looked healthy and better than last season... and I would start rookie Stiemsma over JO, no questions asked.

His 1st game as a starter he had 13/7/2/2 in 21 mins., with 71% FG, imagine what he could do in ~35 mins? And he could play those minutes, unlike JO.

Perkins who? Doc has a legit center on hands, baring injuries Steam (lets call him like that :oldlol:) should be a great addition to Rondo, building new team.

Is Wilt paying you to do this?

It's what I call the "dumbing down of American sports."

And to say that Stiemsa holds the block record with SIX in his debut is a flat-out joke. Wilt probably had that many in the first quarter of his first game.

You are probably too young to remember Kevin Durant's run at MJ's record of 40 straight games of 25+ points in the 09-10 season. ESPN was running it nightly. Well, Durant didn't quite get there, only making it to 29 straight games.

Of course, either the statisticians at ESPN were complete idiots, or there was a deliberate attempt to erase the REAL 25+ point streak record,...which was held by WILT...at 126 straight games.

Even the NBA is at fault. The currently observed single game block mark is Elmore Smith's 17 in a game in 1974. HOWEVER, in a nationally televised game in the 68-69 season, and RECORDED by SI, Wilt blocked 23 shots.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1082021/2/index.htm:

So the Lakers walk the ball up the court, get arranged and then, as VBK says, start "to grind it out." The Lakers do not often make 100 points now. "Defense is the thing we're really living on," van Breda Kolff admits, and Chamberlain has been superb, sometimes even awesome, on defense. In a recent game on national television he blocked 23 shots against Phoenix.

So, when it comes to NBA records, we have the "ESPN records", and then we have the ACTUAL records, which are usually held by Chamberlain.

Hmm I'm not sure about Pavlovic. Dude ain't going to sign with the Cs if there's no guarantee that he'll be on the actual roster. Dude will just play in Europe instead of wasting his time in the training camp. As for Stiemsma, his contract is non-guaranteed so maybe he's lucky enough that Green isn't available for this season. I'm not sure though.

I'm thrilled to see Greg get so much love here. He was clearly gifted at UW but was never able to put it all together. His footwork was terrible and his Sr year he avg like 3.3ppg. He had some emotional issues that he seems to have worked through and his athleticism (yes, he is very athletic even if he is a 7' white fella) seems to finally be matched by his effort and footwork.

I think It's pretty safe to say that he'll see a significant increase in minutes this season. Whether that will be a starting role is yet to be seen, but I'm predicting 'Center by comity', kind of like football teams and two backs. I think he and Jermaine will switch coming off the bench for the foreseeable future.

28 might be a stretch but 20 is pretty much guaranteed.

I don't think anyone ever knows what the Doc Rivers is gonna do. Regarding the big man situation, he'll prob start JO (which everyone already hates), and rotate in Wilcox and Steamy. If I had to guess, it might turn into a "starter by committee" type situation, which, again, people will hate.
