[QUOTE]In an interview with 1500ESPN.com, Kevin Love was asked to pick the better power forward between he and Blake Griffin.

Which is exactly why New Jersey/Brooklyn is the prime destination when NJ realizes they won't be getting Dwight Howard.

Is Minnesota committed financially to build a Title winner? No.
Does Minnesota have the pieces to win a Title? No.

If Love wants to win a Championship, then I think he needs to follow in KG's footsteps in more than 1 way and take his talents to Boston.

He's probably the best power forward in fantasy basketball. In reality? Definitely not.

I felt like old man Jamison outplayed him last night, but then you look at the numbers and Love has 28/14. It is amazing how he could put up such great numbers and have such little impact on the outcome of the game.

I still don't understand this criticism. "Love has no impact", "Invisible on the Court", "Stat-Padder".

Look you don't put his numbers without major hustle and that can't be padded. No impact? The team loses a lot but he keeps them in the game, when love was out the last games of last season the wolves were horrible, didn't even look like they belonged in the NBA. Invisible? I'm certainly seeing him hit 3-pointers, putbacks and a few post moves all the time. Oh and taking all the rebounds from the opposing team.

I don't buy it.

Has there been any star player that has left their team after their rookie contract since the new CBA rules about restricted free agency came in? I can't think of any. Tyson Chandler might have taken the 1-year qualifying offer with the Bulls didn't he? But he wasn't a star/max player.

I don't see Love risking that one year to turn down a max deal. The rules have been so strongly in favour of drafted players staying with their teams for their 2nd contract.

First and foremost:

Bagelred is a good poster.

Now that we got that out of the way.. Xyph, all you post about is the Clippers flopping. I understand it was a funny trend at one point and was obvious during the preseason game.. but seriously. You need to stop repeating things like a broken record, it'll make you look like a better poster.

Oh and coining your own terms hasn't worked so far.. you've been trying to push "DJ Flop" and "Blake Floppin" for a few weeks now. If you haven't noticed, you're the only one who thinks its funny.. at least come up with original jokes that are funny?

And lastly.. I'm glad you admitted you're the worst poster ever. As Bagelred said, admitting your mistakes is the first step to improvement. Keep it going!!!

Don't think it has ever happened... max guys don't risk that 1st big payday.

If they don't sign an extension they are basically gambling $100m that they won't get injured for 2 years... not worth it.

I think if they resign Garnett, Love would certainly learn a thing or two from him. It would be an interesting dynamic between the two players, as they both were visibly talented bigs struggling in Minnesota. Rest assured, if he ends up in Boston, he won't stay a defensive liability for very long. It's the life blood of that Celtics team and will be for as long as Doc is running the show.

His hustle and emphasis on rebounding would be an absolute blessing for Boston.

Argh but if Boston offers him a max contract, if Minny matches Love would still have to stay since he is a RFA right? :confusedshrug: I would love DH12 in green, but its a mere pipe dream

Yes.

However, if Love signed an Offer Sheet elsewhere without wanting to negotiate with Minnesota then I dont see how they match it considering that clearly says he doesn't want to be there. They own his rights, but you dont give $80+ Million to a player that doesn't want to be the face of your franchise.

They'd match it to work out a Sign & Trade.

Minnesota really needs to evaluate if Love wants to be there longterm, if not they can do their best to rebuild around Rubio & Williams.

Honestly, In my opinion Minnesota wont be a Contender with Kevin Love as their "Franchise player". I just dont see him as the type of player like a Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, or even a Blake Griffin type of superstar who can carry a team on his back. But if you scrab the Love experiment and move on building a team around Rubio & Williams, of course with some losing seasons/high lottery picks in the mix then you have a higher upside.

Why wouldn't Love think that, though? If someone asks you if you think you're better than a player who is probably better than you, but it's decently close, you're not going to say, "Nah, he's way better, I'm the sh*ts." Who, as a competitor, would think or say that?

Seriously, I hope he doesn't think the Wolves breaking .500 this early in the season is due to his "impact" That's all Rubio.

Dirk is by far the best 4 in the league, with Gasol trailing behind him. Love is the definition of stat-padding, how come his team which has so many quality players isn't winning? Gasol could win games with Rubio/Ridnour/Barea, Beasley, and Johnson.

He's a stat machine but non impact if that makes any sense?..

IMO the wolves should not pay $80m for him, way overpriced for a guy that doesn't deliver the wins.. That's lebron, rose, wade, Melo, dirk, Howard etc type of money..
