Well Rubio has more hype on him, so what I have heard so far, rubio should be able to guard him.

I think that was the energy behind the MVP. But if I were Thibes I would show Rose this video. In a season like this you need different motivations. I don't expect Rubio to get a lot of sleeping defense assist so his night is made out for him.

But Rubio looks like an assist machine and seemingly will come around.

Yes, but mainly with the hand check being allowed in Europe and FIBA.

In the NBA, with no hand check and no real zone D allowed, he isn't. And neither is any other perimeter player in the entire NBA, due to the NBA rules.

Lebron can barely guard Rose as well. The reason his defense was so effective was because Rose was forced to jump shoot more because of basically the ENTIRE heat squad closing his driving lane space. Everybody was LITERALLY able to keep majority of their attention on Rose all because of other teammates not dropping shots. This means that Lebron had to now only guard him as a jump shooter, and a 6'3 PG being guarded by a tall bulky 6'8 SF is gonna cause problems regardless.

And some of you are giving Lebron too much credit...Haslem was right there to help lebron once he came back...effectively double teaming Rose every time.

The adjustment is greater for 19 yo kids out of school who go up against men bigger and stronger then them then it is kids who have played for years against bigger and stronger competition.

Rose was killing Rubio until he twisted his ankle and limped off the court. He was going where he wanted, when he wanted and nobody could stop him. Until that point, Rose was headed for a 40 point game. 14 points in the 1st quarter alone!

After Rose came back from the injury, you could tell that it effected his explosiveness as he worked to get used to the pain of the ankle and loosen it up. You could tell he was favoring the ankle. I really didn't see him get back on form athletically until the 4th quarter.

Rubio is gonna be good. This is not to take anything away from the Euro. He clearly has the potential to be a future All-star. And the League (and ESPN) already love him. But lets face it, there is only 1 Derrick Rose! Best PG in the game.... and he showed it last night. Nobody can guard DRose. Not even Lebron without help defense clogging the lane.

And oh yea, how did you like those pinpoint "bullet passes" from Rose? He was throwing those things around at about 1 hunned miles per hour. Too bad Noah was having trouble catching those and finishing.
