well, thats when they first started the website, they needed more views to build a reputation of a popular video website to sell video spots and ad space. Now they dont even need to do that because they are so popular now massive people come to the website and watch on there own on a regular basis.

That's because it takes a while for youtube to load up the proper view count. It's at 304, but it will update to the actual number soon. Thats why all the new videos uploaded are usually stuck at 304 or some other number but have thousands of thumbs up.
