Kristen Bell alone would be enough reason for me to watch this show.

Anybody catch the season premiere last Sunday? If so, how did you like it?

I thought it was going to be an hour long. It's pretty good.

It was OK, but looks like it'll get repetitive pretty quickly. Like Californication is, but without the endless supply of hot, naked chicks that Moody gets with.

Kristen Bell is enough for me to watch it.

I thought it was gonna be an hour too, but after seeing it, I'm glad it's not. I can see myself getting aggrevated with the freeze frame cutaway narratives of Don Cheadle explaining the jingoism too me pretty quickly.

Cheadle's character needs to become more likable for this to work. I expect a comparable amount of overt sexuality from this show, with Cheadle sort of stepping in for Hank Moody, but Hank has the advantage of being likable. Hank's ex loves him. His kid adores him. This guy wants to kill his ex, and is on the verge of exploding over his son's transgender phase. And while Hank makes a living waxing poetic about the truth (allegedly, since we've never really seen any of his work), this guy is an admitted bullshit salesman.

And amid all these Californication comparisons, I'll say that show is pretty damn flawed itself, and covers for itself with that overt sexuality.

It'll be tough to pull off. I've always liked Cheadle, so I hope he can make it work. I'll keep watching.

Megan Good in Californication is as watch worthy as Kristen Bell in this by the way.

Thorpesaurous: You're big into characters being likable.

This show will lose its fizzle really quickly. Too many extraordinary circumstances. But I loved the premier and cinematography was good.

Druggy ex wife who firm is better than Cheadles.
Cross Dressing little boy.
Cheadle wants to sleep with blonde.

I will probably ride it out but I dont think my attention span can deal.

Anybody catch the part in the second episode when Guggenheim completely shits the bed whilst trying to talk to Cat Deeley?

Shit had me cracking the f*ck up.

2nd episode, MUCH better than the first. I was howling for 30 minutes.

The scene where Clyde explains how he'd woo Cat Deeley was the shit.

Second episode difinitively better, mostly because it had the above cited moments that were genuinely funny. I do stand by my original issues though. And the whole phoney NBA team issue and borrowing heavily from the LA Dodgers situation just felt too manufactured.

I will watch, because of the lack of other shit on at the moment, but the show is pretty f*ckin cheesy IMHO. It tries hard to be edgy but sadly it is too transparent.

The writers aren't smart enough to reach the intelligent levels the characters are supposed to have.

Disappointing.

Why does every show have to have a gay kid now?

I'm a big fan of Kristen Bell, which is why I watched the show. However, I didn't really like the first episode.

I'll probably still watch the next couple of episodes, just to give the show (and Kristen) a fair chance.

The last episode was below average.

If it wasn't for the Kristen Bell scenes and the funny exchanges between Clyde and Doug, I would most likely be off the bandwagon by now.

Hopefully the next episode is better.

I've enjoyed this show more and more every season. Now that the characters are established, you really come to enjoy the chemistry between the cast. The guest stars are also great. They've also made the clients much more apart of the story in each season, so it doesn't necessarily feel random.
