I gotta stop spending so much time watching the NBA brahs. I love it but there's a lot more important things I need to be doing in the prime of my life. Putting a few hours in every day to watching games? Just too much. Part of what will help will be to stop posting here, always have people around to discuss ball with here so end up wasting a lot of time and always discussing it makes me want to watch even more games.

But I kind of take the view now that watching sports/NBA...there's no return, it's just a waste of time, it's a distraction I'm trying to get out of my life for now (I legit blow off things irl just to chill and catch games). Need to focus on and spend more times on/with things that really matter to me at this stage of my life, career/meaningful hobbies/friends/bitches/travelling etc etc.

I agree with a few of the things you said, except I'm not leaving because I'm at work all the time & without this site, the next most entertaining thing I can do is watch YouTube vids on a slow internet connection.

If you're not being entertained, thrilled, enthralled, going through a bunch of lovely emotions while watching sports, then they're a waste of time, but if you're not a zombie, then they're certainly not a waste of time. If you're wasting too much time watching, then exercise some self-control and cut back.

I recently came off a pretty rough stretch of time in my life, and I honestly thought about seriously cutting back my sports consumption as well. It's probably not the best thing in the world to spend so much time watching sports, but I'm a productive member of society, have friends and a girlfriend, and play sports as well, so f*ck it.

Yeah, I hear ya.

it's funny....I've lived in 5 different states in my life, gone to numerous schools, made friends, lost friends, and had an engagement break off at the last minute, but one of the things I can count on is Bengals football every fall Sunday. That's one thing I can bank on every Sunday fall afternoon. Or Reds baseball in the Summer time, etc. In an inconsistent world, those are things I can bank on.
