I'm pretty sure LeBron has a higher vertical than Blake. Blake gets more attention for his ability to easily posterize opposing players, rather than his hops. Don't get me wrong, but Blake does have insane hops but LeBron has better.

How useful is pure vertical? There are plenty of 5'5 guys with verts higher than all these guys. Blake can get higher up than LeBron lol.

It is right up there for me... Lebron did it in the NBA aswell...

has anybody in NBA history literally jumped over somebody like that in the NBA? I dont think so....

Just look at the timing, the degree of difficulty for gods sake... he sprints, jumps outside the painted area and literally over John Lucas, head at the rim, catches the ball perfectly grazing the rim as he smashes it while moving his ankles to avoid hitting Lucas nose as he flies over him ....

It was no alley oop tho... plus VC split his legs and pressed down the defenders head with the left arm, pushing himself over him (if he didnt do that it would have been a charge)... but lebron freakin cleared Lucas, just literally flying over him NBA JAM style... its still my #1 dunk of all time... but its not an NBA dunk... so it cant be my or yours #1 NBA dunk of all time...

You're so right. We see players clear 5'11" players all the time and actually complete the dunk all the time. What Lebron did was so normal and routine, and I guess I should have been disappointed if Lebron didn't do what the average NBA player does all of the time.

it doesnt have to be. just a better combination of events in my opinion. an oop will never go down as the greatest dunk for me. just because its somewhat of a quick blow instead of dribbling it in yourself and going over the defense when they know what you're going to do.
i liked his dunk over walker better than this one today.

I like dunks with higher degrees of difficulty myself. Clearing a dude to catch a ball in mid air for the slam is...well.. impossible for most people. Great pass by Wade too..the entire play is ridiculous. LeBron didn't just blow by the "defender" he jumped over that nikka :lol

Running up to someone with the ball in your hand and jumping over them isn't as hard...imo. Because you are in more control of everything.

Yeah, that's just sick. Alley oops feel dangerous like crazy when you get really high and are moving really fast (you're compromised cause your co-ordination is preoccuppied with getting the ball) but to have total disregard for your landing or the human life under you, is totally wild. His clearance was all that as well. Dangerous, great co-ordination, height, speed, grace, flow, follow thru, pretty much spontaneous perfection!

Dunk of the year for sure. The commentators didn't even realize what happened at first :oldlol: Here's another overlooked dunk where someone gets cleared: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQGa4aGvFpo&

That's different tho.

He didn't jump over him for the dunk, he cleared him AFTER he dunked it and the defender ducked under him. Different than jumping over him WHILE in the air going for the dunk.

He should have lowbridged him. No way Bron would ever jump over me and dunk. Everyone gets dunked on, everyone doesnt get jumped over. It wouldnt have been me. Dirty play, bitchassness whatever you name. I'll be everything and above, you're not going to dunk over me then stare me down like a herb.

My only wish is that he did this as a member of the Cavs.

That was an amazing dunk & possibly the best alleyoop dunk in NBA history, but SMH @ people saying it was better than VC's dunk over a 7'2" Fred Weiss at the Olympics. GTFO

Dunk was 3 years ago. LeBron literally turned Lucas into a Props in a dunk contest.
