I read Scottie Pippen grew 6 inches the summer after he graduated highschool which allowed him to maintain his youthful agility.. also heard Rodman grew about 6-7 inches at the age of 20.

Any other examples of players getting late growth spurts?

I think David Robinson went from 6'7" to 7'1" while he was at the Naval Academy.

Right before he got drafted out of highschool he was 6'9" and he was even listed as that in the old NBA Live games. He's probably 6'11" or 7'0" in shoes.

I went from 5'7" to 6'1" in one year, been at 6'1" since I was 16 or 17. Too bad my weight went form 175 up to 238, btu that happened over the course of 4-5 years, right now I'm back down to 225, shooting for 200 even by April. So far I've lost 13 pounds in 17 days.

Pippen, James, Odom. They all have one thing in common, they're biig guys that can handle the ball. Obviously due to being around six feet for a few years.

Really is beneficial. Alot of bigs never learn the ball handling skills they should because as kids they just use their size and athleticism to dominate other teams. From what I've read most coaches in those junior leagues don't bother teaching the right skills either.

I don't think any of these NBA players used HGH. They just have freakish genetics.

I know 2 kids who had HGH treatment when they were teenagers. They are both seriously uncoordinated and just look goofy as hell. I think your brain knows how tall you are supposed to be, and when you go messing with that you lose coordination and athleticism. Your brain also knows how much you are supposed to weigh, both of these guys are really scrawny. Also their arms/legs grew more than their bodies.

I knew one of them before he did it. One kid went from like 5'4-5'5 to around 6'3.

I wish I was that tall, but I wouldn't trade my athleticism and coordination for it.

That one is the most impressive one to me.

What about Pete Maravich? Everything I've read and watched on him mentions how tiny he was in high school but he ended up topping out at 6'5".

I was 5'8" entering my 10th grade year and was 6'4" by the beginning of my senior year (15-17 years old). I've grew two more inches in the next year after I graduated, from 18-19 years old. I knew a growth spurt was inevitable. I had a size 13 shoe despite only being 5'8"-5'9" in 10th grade. My dad had a similar growth spurt too. He went from 5'8" to 6'3" from 10th grade to 11th grade.

It's also not unheard of to hear of people growing a few more inches into their early 20s. I don't know how old Paul George is but he grew two inches this past off-season.

Not healthy dude, too many pounds in too few days.

Depends on how he's doing it.

If he's starving himself, yeah.

If he was eating 4000-5000 calories a day of sugary junk food and booze while playing video games, and now is eating 2000 of veggies and lean protein while working out regularly, then he's fine.

I had a friend back in high school who I saw during the summer who must of been a couple of inches shorter than me. Later that year during school, I was looking up at him. Maybe 4-5 inches within a year. It was really ****ing annoying.

It's possible you could still grow some. Most folks are done by 18.
I knew a kid who was 6ft in 4th grade, but topped out at 6'4"

My nephew used to use HGH. The men in my side of the family are about 6ft and his mom's side were about 6'2" and he stopped growing around age 5 and went from like top 10% in height for his age to like bottom 10%. I don't think he's uncoordinated, though he's a hockey player not a basketball player, but he's good enough to be in a competitive league.

I think Robinson must have been 6'6 his first year in college, because I believe that is the tallest you could be to be in a submarine and that is what he was trained for. When he grew past that the Navy was willing to waive his military requirement, but he chose to serve anyway.

Garnett was measured at 6'11" barefoot at the pre draft camp.

Yeah I think he was 6'6" and by his sophomore year he was 7'1" and on everyone's radar. He had a chance to transfer to get out of the military commitment but stayed. Still only had to serve 2 years instead of 6 with time off for the World Championships and the Olympics.
