which one tho? the kid tried flopping twice in like a 2min span. first time giving Kobe a wide open shot second time the succesful flop on Barnes

Fernandez's reaction time on those flop's incredible, before Barnes even swung the ball Rudy was already in the falling motion

Yes the 2nd one, elbow swing.. Thanks yawn. There needs to be a committee that goes through games after the fact and start suspending/finding people for doing this.

He should have been a stuntman. This is a TRUE flop. Absolutely zero contact and a player plays like he got hit.

I can clearly see elbow-to-chin contact. The backward motion of Mr. Fernandez's head confirms that.

Terribad flop.

But to be fair, the first part was real. Someone swings an elbow like that, you tilt back. The head movement? All flop, all day. Should be a $20,000 dollar fine. Would make it stop in a hurry.

Shit I forgot about him. He's a bigger flopper than D-Wade.

My favorite part is when he was about to flop a second time but decided against it.

He still overreacted.
All Barnes was doing was trying to defend the ball; he swung his elbow but it didn't even touch Rudy's jersey. Even if Rudy didn't swing his head back, the elbow would have never connect hence it wasn't in Rudy's personal space.

The ref was a retard who reacted to Rudy's overreaction and then Rudy was acting like the correct call was made.

Just disgusting.

I hate these floppers. NBA refs should never give them the benefit of the doubt. NBA should enforce playing honest defense than encourage flopping. There's has been to many calls favoring the latter.

senelcoolidge
02-04-2012, 06:08 AM
This shit is rampant in today's NBA. Players quickly learn that you have to act or flop to get calls. The refs and the league allow this to happen. It's sad.

Dude, thats the point. It wasn't zomg excessive someone killed me, it was masterful. He saw what was happening, did exactly what he had to do in order to get the call, then moments after he snaps his neck back from being slapped by a ghosts dick he puts his arms up and looks at the official screaming about the foul. They are going to teach this kind of level of execution in schools. He didn't totally overplay it, he played it perfectly.

This was not a flop, this was art.

The original poster hit the nail on the head with this one. That was a maestro-level flop right there. He even pulls off the dazed head bob pretty well.

For the record, I find the Rudy play to be true flopping. Often, I've seen any time a post defender absorbs contact in the post and falls backward being labeled as a flop. Many times, I'd disagree in that regard. Flopping is fake falls, to me. That means if a defender is legitimately hit, but he had his balance intentionally leaning away from the defender instead of into him (thus leading to a hit that pushes the defender backward to the floor), I don't object to that. It's these creations of contact that never existed that I do not care for one bit. Well, I guess I kind of like them, for they're hilarious to watch in gif form.

I'm not a fan of Rudy and i think he's a spoiled brat but what exactly are we blaming him for here? For moving his head and not tasting Barnes' elbow in his mouth?Swinging your elbows like this is illegal and dangerous, that's what was punished by the ref.

he moved his body back well enough to be out of elbow reach, and then he jerked his head back to act like he got hit.

that head jerk was the flop.

He didnt just "move" out from the elbow dude. He clearly made it seem like there was contact. Come on now.

look at the video :facepalm .. barnes swings his shoulder counterclockwise, then the ball very close to fernandez's face .. it's a normal reaction .. then he flops by swinging his head back .. the guy didn't even go down .. normal reaction, then head flop

ultimately it is because of that last head tilt .. if he wouldn't have done that you can't call that a flop

bs man if you look closely at RF's head motion he's acting as though he got hit in the face and not just dodging an elbow. he follow through with his jaw like he did get hit

Never saw this thread when it was made. I don't know if this one's a flop TBH. He didn't actually hold his head or anything like he was hit, I think he may have legitimately just been trying to dodge a possible elbow?
