It's being reported that he will likely get a multi game suspension. Love seemed so classy. This is shocking for me to see from him. Scola gets under people's skin but he's very sportsmanlike in general and this is way out of line. I'm very disappointed in Love.

This might even kill his All-Star chances.

Multi-game suspension for intentional stomping won't get him chosen as one by the coaches.

Exactly, what i saw was Scola throwing himself to the ground twice, Blake Griffin style, in a 30 second span, it's not illogical to think he was looking for some stomping, some people are into weird things.

Stomp is too strong of a word. Clicking the link i was expecting Love to had trampled Scola's face to kingdom come because of that word. He stepped on his face. And it was done in more like a shrug off, get out of my way, dont flop again kind of fashion. :D Im a scola fan and dont mind his flopping. There is no way a big guy like him wouldnt have fallen if not on purpose.

Watching the courtside cam, it looked like scola held love's foot, but the camera angle below the rim tells otherwise and that scola was about to protect his face in anticipation of foot to face collision. I think Love lost his cool and Scola flat out got into his head.

It was a dirty play and the nba shouldnt be lenient about it. I'd imagine that behavior warrants some sort of fine or suspension. It wasnt a stomp though.... he stepped on his face.

EDIT: good job changing the title mods

02-05-2012, 10:12 AM
Yea that didn't really look like he meant to do that, a suspension is fine you can't do that, but beyond that who cares it didn't look malicious, who knows.

:oldlol: @ thread title change

:lol + the removal of posts

in the end though, i do think it was pretty dirty. it wasn't as bad as some make it seem. he half stepped on his chest and it was an act of frustration. if he's a repeat offender that isn't petty stuff and rumor mongering, i'd think twice, but for now, it's just a player that lost his cool. let's not act like this defines his career

EDIT: looked at it again and he did stomp his chin down i guess. still, people make it seem like he kicked him and put his full weight on his face and that just isn't the case. dirty, no doubt, but let's not crazy. it would probably be just a personal foul or a no call in the late 80s, early 90s, lol

yep. legs can get tangled but no need to slam yourself to the floor to create a dramatic effect. still, love got frustrated and in today's league, you just can't have that. both were wrong but love made a stupid emotional decision that will probably cost him

griffin did try to flop against love as well so maybe it was built up over time. guys are crashing to the floor just to draw a foul on a great rebounder

Suh's shit was blatant and his suspension was well-deserved. Love's was probably intentional but it didn't look as blatant. Plus the world is sick of flopping, though to be fair we need to admit that every team and almost every player does it, some are just better at it.

looked to me like Scola was trying to protect his face seeing Love about to step over him but Love's foot on the step over got caught in Scola's arms, where he had to regain balance to step on him, or he'd fall too. Definitely not suspension worthy, and a whole lot of nothing here.

also looked like Scola was getting abused by Love in the paint that game :lol

let me break it down for those who don't have brains and are now Scola apologists.

scola is a ****ing flopper. he shows no respect for Love in how he guards him.

scola hit love in the balls and everyone called it an accident, when quite literally he looked at Kevin Love's groin and threw the ball.

fast forward to last night's game, Love is playing intense the entire night and he has to deal with Scola exaggerating every little bump and tap.

when he was stepping over scola I want you to take a careful look at Love's feet.

he has 2 options in what he can do with his 'face-stomp' foot which is extend it farther and lose speed + risk extending his ankle. scola grabs one of his foot and love looks down and steps into scola's face. it looked bad but what the **** else was he supposed to do?

stop crying and learn about basketball. ***** ass hoes.

I'd go as far to say Love may be a top 5 dirty player in the league. He's really good at getting away with shit. Sometimes when he fouls somebody, I didn't catch what he actually did. That's why you'll notice other players will do things to him and you may be like WTF?

I thought it should of been 3 games at least. Now, the real question is will the Wolves be competitive and win their next 2 games? If they are even remotely competitive it would be enough evidence to prove that Love is a no-impact player. MVP of the Wolves are Adelman and Rubio.

Where do you get this idea? The game plan will change and they'll focus on other strengths. If they win their next 2 games, it doesn't prove Love is a nonimpact player. That's only 2 games and it has been done before when other star players have been suspended, sick. etc. Just because Darko has 2 great games while Love is gone, does that mean Love is a nonimpact player? They couldn't consistently win without Love, they don't have solid enough rebounders to stay competitive. I just hope they can beat Sacramento.

I can't wait to see the starting lineup. Do you think they'll just start Pek and Darko or will they start Beasley at the PF spot? Interesting...

Bullshit. This isn't suspension worthy whatsoever. A minor fine at the most.

NBA players need to start following Love's example of stomping European floppers in da face.

However, they should wear these: http://www.spikesrunning.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/spike-shoes.jpg

MAN!!! I wish someone in the league would do that to Manu Ginobli too. get these Aregentenian disgraces out of the league...They should be back at their home picking bananas for my protein smoothie.

I'm not even sure he did it intentionally. I was picturing something completely different. I was picturing Scola on the floor and kevin going over and literally STOMPING on his face. This is an overreaction imo.
i agree, this didn't seem malicious

the angle in the youtube video looked much worse.

looking at this GIF, it doesn't even look like he touches his face with his foot -- it looks like he steps on his chest and scola snaps his head back...

Clearly Love should have seen a body directly underneath him, and done a no-hands cartwheel to avoid using his feet to propel himself down the court.

If this was Iverson or JR Smith or Stephen Jackson he'll woulda got 15 games minimum and a 500k fine.
I actually believe this.

After watching that in slow motion, I'm not even sure he meant to do that. Totally blown out of proportion.

Bullshit. This isn't suspension worthy whatsoever. A minor fine at the most.

Scola flopped to the ground and blocked most of the foot with his hand. I seriously doubt that would hurt you that much unless your jaw was made of glass.

1. Scola didn't flop. Love wanted to foul hard foul him to make a point. You have to watch the plays that led to that foul. They were already going at it.

2. Whether the stomp hurt him or not is irrelevant. Point is you can't do that in the NBA. If you do it, expect a 1-3 game suspension. Wolves are glad Scola covered his face, because if not, Love would have gotten 1 or 2 more games.

His foot and his shin made no contact with Scola's face.

Wtf. Scola flopped the back of his head onto the ground.

what's the big deal?
if love gets suspended it's further proof the nba is getting gayer by the minute.
and if you think this incident is even worth discussing you are a bunch of lil fakkotz.

Agreed.

I didn't watch the game. But I know Scola and he's a flopper. A big fat euro flopper. Floppers should get stepped on. He flopped TWICE in that video and he got stepped on. KLove shouldn't get a fine, he should get a trophy for that.

In all seriousness I didn't see anything derserving of a suspension. Scola fell down and KLove was trying to run back and Scola put up his hands and tripped KLove.

BTW: I'm a Mavs fan and F KLove.
